We took my dog in to find out what kind of cancer she had - we knew it was cancer as she had hacked out a piece of tumor but had no idea where and how much! We met with Dr. Mahoney (sp?) and scheduled the cat scan with other tests. Dr stood by what she said that she would call me anytime there was news. Instead of the liaison calling dr called me saying that they have give medicine and that it should be 30-45 min before they take her in. She called 30 min later saying she was doing great. It was nice to hear from the dr even though I wasn't expecting one at that point. She explained the process on where they were at and what they were going to do from here. About 15-20 min later she called again saying they had found a huge tumor on her tongue when prepping and did i want the surgeon that was on standby to remove - they weren't sure yet if it had spread since the scan hadnt been finished and still thought that would be needed to. I immediately agreed and hoped for the best. Dr. Mahoney said it should take about 11/2 hrs for surgery and cat scan. She called in 45 min again saying it took less time and was removed and scan looked clean but they would call when final results were by end of day. She called only about 4 hrs later with results of scan (hadn't spread) and that cancer was melanoma but had got 90% of it and a vaccine could be given to hopefully help immune system attack it. Count the times she called. Not just the liaison but the dr. herself. I wasn't expecting it as I wouldn't have minded having a couple calls from her and a couple from liaison. I bring this up because this is great service and very happy with how they treated me and especially my dog. People in reviews have complained about how expensive Angel is...it is somewhat but to me worth it. My in-laws dog, just a week before my dog had surgery, was put down by another vet after a biopsy and their service and communication and possibly the biopsy surgery was not at all good. SO I will pay more for better drs and ervice.
