I had Sam's crew gut my kiychen and rebuild everything. I was nervous throughout--wary of the "Southern charm", but he alwaysvreturned my calls promptly and assured me that things would be handled. The folks at Lowe's told me that generally everu contractor takes about twice as long as promised, and costs double the amount projected. There were costs beyond the original. Sam did not include many basics for the crew, including sandpaper and masks for fumes, lumber was short, and we had to supply$ to buy more. The total overage was not significant though. More disturbing is that some of the things promised were simply not delivered (sponge drawer, documentation for energy star door). I would NOT recommend Sam to anyone. I would refer friends to his workers, though. They were all top notch craftsmen.
