My very active, very creative son (8) and daughter (7) LOVE Dead Broke Farm. I keep asking for their most favorite thing about it and they say "everything" each time-- but I think riding the horses, playing with all the animals, and in general having a relaxing, fun-filled, unstructured environment are what make it such a hit!
If you believe children need stimulating environments to explore at their own pace without constant intervention by well-meaning-but-stifling adults (admit it, we are bores) every minute of the day, this is the camp for your child. Kids can be kids like they used to be before soccer and violin and scouts and church and homework took up every waking hour.
Kids can learn about nature and responsibility and charity (the farm helps so many horses!) first-hand and not through a book! What a great experience for them!
