My car broke down on 610, 1.7 miles from the shop. I called 311 and asked for a safe clear wrecker and the city sent a Miller's truck. Since I clearly needed a repair and they were there I just decided I'd let them do it.
The repair shop never called me. I called nearly every day for 2 weeks. More often than not I would call and the receptionist would say the mechanic was out and he'd have to call me back. No one would return my calls so I'd call back several hours later or the following day. When I was able to talk to someone they would come up with ridiculous excuses as to why the work was taking so long. In the end it took 2 weeks to perform a job that should have taken a day, I know how long it takes because I had similar work done to a previous car 2 years ago.
When I picked up the car they did not provide me with any paper work for the repair. They did not offer a warranty or guarantee on their work and only provided an itemized list of labor and parts upon request. Upon inspection of said list I found that they had charged me $100 for tow that was (mostly) paid for by the city as part of the safe-clear program. In a word: ridiculous.
Save your time and money. Don't bring your car here.
