I have been going to DB Sutton for almost a year now and have always been very pleased with my experience. Patrick has been doing my hair since he started at DB Sutton and he is great! I love my hair each time! He always takes time to listen to what I want and gives me his honest feedback. He takes his time and always does a beautiful job! I recently moved away from the area and always drive back to Chapel Hill to have Patrick do my hair...because lets be honest, when you find someone you trust with your hair, it is worth it! I trust him completely with my hair and would recommend him for cut and/or color to anyone. more

You know you've gotten a good cut and color when people stop you on the street and ask you where you've had your hair done. Happens to me on a regular basis. Quite the ego booster! I've used two stylists at DB Sutton and Company--David and Rachel. Either will give you great service and a wonderful cut. If you request David--be ready to wait awhile. I make my appointments the day I have my hair done--his wait is usually a minimum six weeks. \r \r I've never gotten anything but exemplary service there. I can't recommend this salon highly enough. Pros: Great service, cut and color are the best I've gotten anywhere. Cons: David is frequently booked for weeks in advance. Be prepared to wait if you want him! more

I desired a appointment with the owner of this salon; ""David"" by recommendation for hair color. I was apparently black-listed and given the run around and told ""he is no longer taking new clients"" by the receptionist which, I know several people recently who had seen him as a new client. I was then told ""nobody in our salon is taking new clients"" except ""paula"" who works very limited hours. Apparently, I was black listed because they had me down as a ""no show"" from last April which I left a message. The answering machine is usually on and I left a message because my husband had emergency surgery due to a ruptured Achilles tendon. What I don't like is that David never called me back, returned my messages and had his receptionist relay the message telling me we're not taking new clients. I found this type of behavior generally insensitive and not very good customer relations - in my book, what goes around, comes around. I actually wonder how he would do my hair because I found his behavior deceptive and not receptive. My intuition tells me this guy simply didn't want to take me on as a new client based on what he established as ""a no show"" and didn't have the guts to get on the phone, himself to check this out. I would not recommend DB Sutton at all! Cons: Awful customer service and insensitivity more

This is a really clean salon with nice decor. There are a number of good stylists there, and usually they can fit you in within a day. My favorite is the owner, D.B. Sutton, who is also a stylist and he really does the best job, always listening to what I want while still managing to make my hair look great! I've been to a couple of the other stylists there too, and they're great as well. It's right on Franklin Street with easy parking. They're open on the weekend and after 5pm. You won't be disappointed. Pros: Great stylists, good hours. Cons: I can't think of any. more
