I Love This Place!!! 10/27/2010

Yelo Spa is the best spa ever. The staff is so kind and I have brought so many people to this spa that I feel like they are family. This spa is wonderful in every way. The service is excellent and worth every penny. They even do great waxing. The minute you step in you feel calm and relaxed. The whole experience is great and everyone I have brought to this spa loves it and always goes back again. Go and get pampered and refreshed! more

Yelo was the worst spa experience ever!!! It’s not even a spa… there is no women’s changing area, I was directed to one hook to disrobe.... and a robe & towel was only provided for upon repeated request, and the restroom, I won’t even. . I called for my appointment and was able to get the exact time and date that I desired. Upon arrival I was not greeted and was actually ignored while the Asian receptionist shopped online for dresses, and I couldn’t’ see what the African-American receptionist was doing but she never looked up from her computer screen. Oh don’t let me forget the Caucasian receptionist who was snooping on both receptionists while sipping on something in a paper cup. Arriving 15 minutes earlier to my appointed time as most of you spa-goers know we need to change and relax. . . I was kept waiting at the desk to be greeted and provide further directions. While the dresses were loading the Asian reception made the time to direct me to the bench with a clipboard. (Not yet did anybody make any type of eye contact by the way.) Their cold tea tasted like soap when they did offer 18 minutes later of arriving now 8 minutes later then my appointment time. Hence I didn’t start on time . . . but funny enough, I finished earlier than suppose to on my 2 hr package. One in my space-ship – for somebody who is not claustrophobic – was claustrophobic… it was the most horrifying facial experience EVER… I could SMELL the HOT WATER/STEAM & was afraid of being burned for the entire duration of my facial although she assured me it was just the “smell” . . . there goes my aromatherapy charges….. The whole 2 hour experience felt like 5 hours of the worse time ever, with it being freezing through the “place” would never call yelo a "spa" & the must share that it was the MOST HORRIBLE experience ever of my 10 years of spa going in NYC! Spend your money elsewhere & if you want service don’t ever go there! more

Sleep in Manhattan like a baby 5/31/2010

I just wanted to say that I had a truly amazing experience at Yelo! I live in Hell's Kitchen and have passed by Yelo on numerous occassions, but never went in thinking why on earth would I pay to nap when I live 4 blocks away - what a mistake. The spa was calming, clean and staff extremely courteous. The 30 minute neck and back massage was one of the best and addressed my kinks and pains and the relaxation nap room was amazing. I was thinking if airplane seats were like this, I would fly as often as possible! I fell asleep and woke up relaxed. Highly recommend! Pros: Calming, tranquil and "womb like" Cons: Prices are a little bit expensive, but worth it! more

The moment you walk in.... you are already relaxed 100x more than you were 3 seconds before that. The deails are superb and the staff including the owner are down to earth, kind hearted people, and very accomodating. I loved the unique experience at Yelo and the cabins specificially desgined with so much intention, inspiration, and love. The tea offerred is also great and they offer some great productss! Pros: Awesome staff, unique place to relax Cons: Wish it had another Yelo that you could socalize with others more

Time to Rest! 8/8/2008

If youÂ?re someone who loves massages or is interested in getting a massage for the first time, I suggest you go to YELO! This company is the best secret in New York; I only wish they had more of them around the area. They specialize in Reflexology and whatÂ?s even more awesome you can take a nap! What makes this nap so different from sleeping on just any old bedÂ?is the chairs that they have. This magical chair reclines you back so that all the pressure is off your feetÂ?and honestly you really do feel at ease! If I had my own person little Â?Yelo CabÂ? at my home, I would never leave! This place is truly a place of peace. Everyone should experience this for themselves; itÂ?s truly a place that promotes wellness and peace of mind. more

Serene and invigorating 11/30/2007

WOW! I was exhausted this morning after a late night. After dragging through my hectic Friday, I knew this was the time to try out this place! I've dreamed of my own personal pod where I could escape to mid-work day. What a concept! (And it's right down the street from me to boot!) After being greeted by the friendly staff and offered delicious tea, I was led to my personal pod for a 40 minute "power nap." The friendly woman set up my chair, covered me in a warm and soft chenille blanket, adjusted my personal ocean sounds music choice to my specifications and lowered the lights. Although I didn't sleep until the latter part of my experience, I was able to destress to the natural sounds and smooth aromatic aromatherpy. The woman needed to come in to gently wake me I was so out! I'm now invigorated and ready to take on the rest of my work Friday! Pros: friendly staff, invigorating service, unique experience more

Wonderful!!!!!!! 7/6/2007

I am a ballroom dancer and walk all over this crazy city. I read an article about Yelo in NY Magazine and thought, "I have to try this!" I went today and it was absolutely fabulous! I had a 60 minute session and a 1/2 hour nap! The therapist was so knowledgeable and friendly! I felt like I was floating while reclined in the anti-gravity was surreal. I left feeling relaxed, soothed, and reenergized! I am hooked! Thank you Yelo! Pros: Ambiance, Aromatherapy, Custom Chairs, Awesome Therapists Cons: I didnt find any. :) more

The new place in NY u have to go 6/19/2007

I tried Yelo last week and it was really great! I walked by after a depressing day at work and I wanted to pamper myself a little bit. I tried a half an hour reflexology treatment with a little nap afterward. And I think I'm addicted now. The staff is really nice and you can feel they really care about their customers. The therapists walks with you to a private cabin and set you up in the best chair ever! You relax instantanously. The chair is called "0 gavity" and it's true you don't feel your weight at all. Then you have a cashmere blanket on you and the therapist lowers the light. And begins to massage your feet (you can also choose hands or ears). It really is relaxing, you are between being awake and asleep. When the therapist is finished he leaves you for your nap so you can enjoy a little bit longer. And you can stay in this state because you don't have to worry about the tip, they take care of it for you and you paid before the session. Other avantages: they have memberships that basically pay for themselves and a great selection of products. At least the ones I bought really work. Pros: everything Cons: nothing more

Serenity now... 6/19/2007

I had my first experience with reflexology treatment ever at Yelo, and I have to say that it was the most truly relaxing and renewing experience I have had. From the moment you step inside Yelo you are lulled by the sweet herbal scent of the purified air, you can almost taste it. Then, after checking in with the very nice, gentile receptionist (a rarity in mid-town NYC) I was escorted to my perch in the YeloCab where I chose to listen to a thunderstorm play softly over the individual sound system. As the reflexologist reclined my chair and draped me with a cashmere blanket, he explained that the seats were set at a precise angle to ease circulation, and I could feel the effects almost instantaneously, it was really neat! The reflexologist went to work on my feet as I sat there and nodded in between napping and awake for the best 30 minute nap I've ever had! Before going in, I was concerned that the treatment would knock me out as it was already early in the evening, but it really did rejuvenate me! This is the perfect thing to perk you up in the middle of a long work week, or motivate you for a long night of Friday night partying. When it was all over, I was brought a nice cup of cold water and the best part, no mental gynmastics about how much to tip, it's all included in the price. Too bad there's only one Yelo for now! Check it out! Pros: Ambiance, service, location Cons: none to speak of from me more
