Winnetka Village is a slum and run by stupid bitches 12/20/2010

I lived at Winnetka village and I got screwed over weekly. They have some weird kinds of insects that live in the walls. They make up their own illegal rules and the caretakers enter your apartment to spy on your stuff when you are not there. Yes, the pieces of crap will be going to court pretty soon and you can bet on it. more

Welcome Home! 10/22/2010

I moved from a small town in Wisconsin, my first apartment was a few blocks away from Winnetka Village. I wanted to move to a building that offered underground parking. I was very happy to find my one bedroom which offered not only underground parking but more sq. footage along with elevators and dishwasher and disposal with a bonus bonus of a great pond view and for less money than the apt I left behind which had none of these amenities. Its a great community and the office staff is very helpful. The buildings are well maintained and clean. I think its the very best value in the area. more

Great Experience 10/22/2010

I had looked at a lot of apartments in this area so that I can be closer to my job. A lot of them are very disappointing for the price that they offered. I happened to drive past Winnetka Village one day not realizing it was an apartment complex because it was back in a little ways from 36th Ave and it had a pretty pond in the front so I didn't think anything of it until I saw the school bus in the front. I was very fortunate to have found a place that offers a great living environment along with an affordable price. The staff has been great from beginning to end. Maintenance repairs was done in a timely fashion, the buildings are kept clean and the staff is very helpful. I saved so much money and I was able to use that as a down payment on my house. I will though go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Winnetka Village for making my stay there so enjoyable! more

Okay for perfect weather living... 1/29/2009

If we lived in a perfect weather environment, Winnetka Village Apartments would be a good choice for the rent amount. Its not too far from downtown Minneapolis and has easy access to highways (94, 694, 394, and 100)\r \r However, we do not. This is Minnesota and we get hot summers and very cold winters. Windows and balconies are drafty. The wall air conditioners are old and very loud. Also, the water heating system is old and breaks down OFTEN during the winter. Be prepared to go days without heat. Also be prepared to have maintenance fixed the heaters often throughout the winter. Management response to broken heaters can take up to a few days.\r \r What management will provide when there is no heat are space heaters but using those will increase your electricity bill and you can't leave them on all day/night when you're not home. (Leaving them on all the time when there is no heat creates a fire hazard.)\r \r Others: sufficient parking, locked entrances, underground parking, won't allow tenants to have dish network services more

Poor tenant relations and minimal, if any, service response 8/2/2007

I encourage potential tenants to follow the apartment review guidelines provided by the Minnesota Attorney General's Office. Take the time to check the things leasing agents don't show you. Make note of signs posted in the entryway and throughout the building. Living at Winnetka Village Apartments has been a learning experience that I'd not care to repeat. I'm leaving at the end of this month. Pros: Location is accessible to Highways 100 and 169 Cons: Poor lighting, apartment repairs and clean-up, very poor tenant relations more
