A cautionary tale 5/10/2012

When one first hears of a 'Christian' Academy, they may think of age appropriate lessons and activities all centered around the word of God. One does not generally envision two hour time outs for pre schoolers, commands of 'against the wall!', 'we should be silent!', eating all meals in complete silence, requests for seconds denied to even the two year olds saying 'but, I'm still hungry', chapel services that last upwards of two hours wherein if children speak or make noise, they are publicly ridiculed. These same chapel services teach lessons such as 'Jesus died to make us free of disease. Disease is sin. To cure disease, all you do is pray. Maybe those who are sick don't know this. We should pray they are cleaned.' (all of which is not biblically accurate in any way) A place where parent's personal business is discussed in the foyer for all to hear. A place where your child will write sentences, lose recess, stand against walls all for the mere act of talking. (on a bus, while eating, in the classroom...all these places should be 'silent!') A place where employees are not granted sick days (hope your kid does not get ill, too!), recovery days after surgery or even a day off to attend a funeral will end in sudden termination. (hope your kids were not attached to that teacher- they aren't allowed to tell kids they are leaving-ever.) The directors manipulate, command conversations and leave no room for any way but their own. I have seen autistic children drug through halls, emotionally challenged children so beat down by their commands they shut off completely or act out very violently. This is all very harsh. But it is all true. If you are thinking of sending your child or seeking employment here- ignore the 'best of Denton' award sign and walk away. Go past all the reviews that shine about them (you'll find they seem to all say the same thing, as if written by the same people) and find a daycare that truly cares for children. more

Love this school! 5/5/2011

My son has attended Wellspring for a little over a year. The change in him is so wonderful. He was so shy in the beginning and would hardly talk. Now, he is so outgoing and laughs all the time!! He always wants to go to school, even when they are closed. It is so wonderful to know my child is so well cared for while I am at work. Thank you to all the staff at Wellspring for the love and kindness they have shown to me and my child. more

A Great Place 4 Your Child(ren)! 7/15/2010

I have really enjoyed my experiences with Wellspring Christian Academy. The directors & teachers are caring, patient, and knowledgeable. My son enjoys his activities while learning more about Christ everyday. I feel he is safe and well cared for here. I know that I can speak with the school at anytime to check on my son without feeling like a burden. I wouldn't take my son anywhere else! Having him at Wellspring makes me feel better about working outside the home. Thank you, Wellspring Staff, for all that you do! ~CT more

The Best Day-Care in Denton! 7/6/2010

Wellspring Christian Academy provides a wonderful, loving, and nurturing environment. My son has attended Wellspring for 4 years now and he absolutely loves it. He has learned so much, while also having a great time there. Learning is made fun at Wellspring. As a parent, I feel totally secure in leaving my son in the hands of the directors & staff at Wellspring because I know that they always have his best interests in mind. There is also the extra bonus that Wellspring provides--spiritual development through praise & worship services and their Scripture reviews. You can not go wrong with putting your child into daycare at Wellspring Christian Academy!!! ~NJS more

  • Wellspring Christian Academy strives for excellence in providing a good foundation for young children with our early childhood education program. Our state of the art campus is located at 1919 N. Elm Denton, TX 76201. Our facility is generously supplied with the latest equipment and our curriculum enhances the children's love for learning through weekly themed units, concepts and center to center stimulation. We are an academic preparatory school with extended day and summer camp programs. Wellspring Christian Academy's goal is to build godly children through individual development of their mental, physical, emotional and spiritual character. Each child is encouraged and challenged to continually strive to reach new milestones with their learning and growth. We focus on building self-esteem and self-confidence in all aspects of our program. We integrate non-denominational Bible-based principles through classroom devotionals and chapel services. We not only minister to the children but also to their families. For over 35 years we have strived to offer a solid learning foundation that will forever impact our students. Along with the cognitive learning of phonics, handwriting, math, science and reading readiness, the child?s social skills are enhanced through special events and a dynamic and fun-filled, summer camp! Through exploration, imagination and experimentation the children's world is expanded. The excellence comes from a great deal of planning and setting a very high standard. This is achieved through our qualified, loving and caring directors, teachers and staff. It is all about going above and beyond what is expected. It is about creating an environment that is not only healthy, safe, and nurturing but also exciting and fun. Charlotte and Dalton Allen, directors and staff bring their education, passion and dedication for children together with their creativity and talents to generate the promotion of excellence to the children of Denton. Nutritional snacks and lunches, bus transportation, recreational events, a video arcade, after school tutoring are a few other things included in the program. We firmly believe, that good beginnings never end.
