Vincenzas is about as close as it gets to Sunday dinner at an Italian's home...down to the atmosphere which is reminiscent of a East coast burrow. The food is so authentic and it is obvious the owners/chef take great pride in their food. The service is straight up casual ...more like the Italian mom that never lets you leave hungry. \r As others have mentioned, the ciabata bread is to die adfor. My wife ordered the pasta diavolo linguine which was fabulous. My clams linguini was delicious as well.\r The only only thing that could make Vincenza's any better would be of they served a better selection of wines. With food so authentic there's no reason the wines should be on the cheap side. Other than that minor detail, the food is fantastic and I can't wait to go back! more

Vincenza bakery is always a favorite place to take family and friends. The food is pretty good, if not amazing. The service it great and the atmosphere is super comfy casual. Prices are about right for the quality of food but all in all you get a good meal and have a lot of fun. more

Another place highly reviewed that we finally made it to. The food is terrific. We shared plates which worked well because portion sizes are just right. The service is wonderful. They take care of you but don't hover. \r I can hardly wait to get back. more

I always bring guests here for the pizza, which has an unique recipe and presentation. Bread and Pasteries are also excellent. The building is vintage- a snap shot of the 1920's from when it was still a neighborhood dairy.\r \r more

We've eaten here 6-8 times. The service 1/17/2012

We've eaten here 6-8 times. The service has always been friendly and nice. The place (the historic coop creamery) can be cozy when its filled with other diners. I can't recommend everything on the menu, but I can recommend the homemade minestrone (very nice on a cold miserable day, with just the right amount of heat), the manicotti & the fettuccini alfredo. Recently they seem to be working to keep their pastries/deserts more fresh - which I appreciate. Thanks, Vicenza's!! I can recommend the coconut macaroons. Yummy. more

Charming and delicious 7/15/2011

The building is among the coolest buildings a restaurant could be in..old and distinct looking. Inside I was bombarded by aromas that you can only smell in a bakery. The pastry case is packed and I could on try a couple items. A canoli and pine nut cookie. Both are delicious and beyond words. The Dinner was served quickly and the pasta was cooked al dente. The sauce was fresh and the giant meatball was homemande. YUM For sure this will be one my regular adventures. more

Great Little Family Italian Joint 5/12/2011

My husband and I took the kids for a sunday dinner and were very pleased. It's not a fancy place so I wouldn't go there for a special occasion. However, it is the perfect place to bring small children and not have to worry about them bothering other folks. Our family felt quite comfortable there in the back dining room. It was like sitting in the kitchen a grandmas. And the food was definitely homestyle. The sauce was loved by our kids especially and we all found it to be tasty. The sausage was wonderful. The kids loved going to the counter and picking out pastries for desert too!\r \r This will definitely be an new hangout for our famiglia! more

Neighborhood Gem 2/23/2011

Just want to say for all you who gave Vincenza's a bad review, your crazy. I had great food and great service. For those who are unsure what to get I tried these dishes which I would highly recommend: pasta diavolo, caprese salad, penne and Broccoli, eggplant parmeasean, and berry tiramisu. Everything was amazing!!! Hope you all feel the same after you go! more

Love Italian food...don't love this place! 2/15/2011

We live by this restaurant and had driven by a number of times and gave it shot finally last night, Valentine's Day. Should of got the the clue right away when the place was maybe half full on the biggest ""dinner out"" night of the year. Outside looks cute, inside needs lots of help. Run down, bad decor. But that might of been the best part of our dinner. You walk in an you smell nothing. An Italian restaurant that doesn't smell like a warm loaf of bread and garlic is probably not a good one. Sat there for 10 minutes without being acknowledged, then our server took our drink order and said she'd bring out some bread. Another 10 minutes we got bread, our drinks and we ordered. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmesan, which on the menu claims that it is reported to be the best in Denver. I got the special which was pork shank with pasta and the house ragu. Our review of the food was that it was something I would expect at a Furr's cafeteria. Just bland. Everything. But the house red sauce or Ragu as they call it was tasteless and watery. Nothing more to say. We asked for parmesan cheese when our food was delivered to at least add some flavor that way. The waitress said she would try and find some and probably have to steal it from some other customers...again, an Italian restaurant that has to TRY and find parmesan cheese for their food. Alas, we never got the parmesan cheese. We had to ask for our bill. And we witnessed the apparent owner not only sit idly by as the wait staff struggled and did not do anything except to berate our waitress (who was horrible) and threaten her that if she start taking care of this one table in 2 minutes, she needed to leave. So that's that. Not going back. I truly wonder where some of the framed reviews that say the place was amazing came from, they were over 4 years old, so maybe the parents of the current owners started it, left it to them and now it sucks. And sucks bad. Won't return. more

Take the Cannoli 1/13/2011

This place is like a piece of Little Italy here in Wheat Ridge. Everything is right out of Boston including the Lobster tails! I've never seen them here out West. If you have a large appetitie get one, but be warned they are as big as a plate :) The Italian Sausage sandwich is to die for and the bread is straight from heaven. Great Sausage, peppers and fresh baked bread. Nothing compares. When you are ready to leave, don't forget the cannoli. more

Good Food , Good Pastries 12/3/2010

We read the reviews that went from excellent to yucky, so we were a little apprehesive about going. But we had a coupon. I would say the truth is somewhere in the middle. Not fabulous but certainly not yucky. Portions were huge and prices were about average. My Fettucine Alfredo had a little too much fennel or basil and not enough garlic for my taste. more

Wonderful Food, a Great Experience 11/23/2010

This restaurant is inside of the old Wheat Ridge Dairy. I remember my parents telling me how they went to the Dairy when they were kids so this building has a lot of history. The walls are filled with diners awards so you don't have to worry about what a couple bloggers said below, the food is spectacular. I usually venture out to Vincenza Bakery on the weekends for breakfast and some fresh bakery items to take home. The omelettes are to die for :P yum. The bakery always has new and different pastries each time I visit and I've broken my diet a few items with a few too many samples. I have had the dinner here on more than a few occasions and the spaghetti sauce is the best I have come across. It is light and full of flavor. I like the homemade meatballs that can fill you up by themselves. I shall be returning to this place for many years. more

Great experiance 11/19/2010

I don't know how many times I have driven past this place and said, ""gotta try this place some time."" Well tonight we did, and what a treat! It started with delicious warm bread with Olive oil and Balsamic to dip into. Bella! Dinner came fast, the kiddo had Rigatoni and Meatball, umm who ever you were that could not find a kids menu??? In Italian ""Bambino"" means kids, lots to choose from!! My wife had the Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken. Best Alfredo sauce I have eaten since my best friends Italian Mom made it for me in High School!! I had picked the Chicken Parmigiana to eat, but than the waitress told me about the Ossobuco! To say HUGE would be an understatement. Braised in a wonderful spicy Green and Red Pepper sauce with a side of Ziti on a platter no less! Osso Good! We finished with the best darn Eclairs and Cheesecake ever! Folks, forget the nay sayers, go eat there!!!! Mangialo Tutto! (Translation - Eat It Up!) more

Wow! It is Soooo Good! :D 11/1/2010

Always good food and delightful people to greet and serve us! Homemade sauces and Italian breads, What else would someone want?! ooohoo Italian cookies too :D Yum! more

wonderful dining experience 10/7/2010

It was a wonderful dining experience. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was upbeat, our waiter always communicated to us about the status of our order, and the live singer for entertainment was a special treat. The basket of bread was delicious and the bakery looked amazing...We need to come back real soon. more

Over Priced Food Small Portions 7/7/2010

I had a meatball sandwich and it had no flavor at all. The sauce was minimal at best. Ordered fettuccine Alfredo Very small portion and they served it with frozen shrimp. Their Pastries called bow ties again no flavor what so ever. They are at 12.95 a pound and I was hoping I was paying for some yummy taste. The bread was good on my sandwich but perhaps they should taste their food before serving it. I dont know why people would think its Italian authentic Because it was more like the run of the meal. It didnt even look that clean in the place so perhaps they should revamp the whole restaurant... Make sure you taste what you serve! Cons: Whole place needs to be updated more

Better check this place again 7/26/2009

My Mom is Italian so I am used to very good Italian food.\r After a very long wait in a very uncrowded restuarant, I finally ordered a Greek salad and a senior special, rigatoni with It. sausage. After another lengthy wait the alleged Greek salad arrived. Wilted lettuce old red onions some old dry squash pieces and Italian gloppy dressing. There were no cucumbers, black olives and the feta cheese was tasteless. This salad was about as Greek as I am. When I asked about the lack of olives the waitress went to the bar and got me green martini olives - clueless.\r Then finally the entree' arrived, oh my the pasta was way overdone and falling apart, the red sauce was seperating between water and marinara, tasty but old. The sausage was not home made and the pasta was falling apart.\r One piece of the bread was as hard as a rock but the other two were smooth and soft, but alas - no butter, and no cheese either for my pasta. In fact the only item on the table was a pepper shaker. I had to get my own salt and was never offered more water or ice.\r I was flabbergasted, and when I asked for two filled chocolate canolis, I got two almond cookies.\r So if this is a four (4) star Italian restuarant in the Denver area, I must have been there on the worst day in their history. Or just maybe their quality control was off that day. \r Fool me once............... Pros: one of the breads Cons: everything else more

Overpriced average food 11/5/2008

The flies on the windowsill and the fake plants didn't do much for my first impression but a friend had recommended it so we sat down and ordered. The pasta special ($6.95) seemed like a great deal but it wasn't any better than boiled pasta and Ragu that you could make at home. My husband had gnocchi ($10.95) which was rubbery and overcooked. A Fat Tire beer was $5. The desserts were OK, but overpriced as well. I thought the cheesecake looked better than it tasted and regretted the calories (and cost) immediately. On a positive note, the service was good and the bread was warm but we definitely wouldn't go back again. more
