Valentine's Day horror!!!!\r My family of four had a reservation for 7pm on Feb 14,2013. We were 10 min late but did call ahead to pre-warn. We were told that would be no problem. We arrived precisely at 7:08pm. We were seated immediately and greeted pleasantly but that's where the great Customer Service ended. Our waitress was one of two that was staffed for one of the busiest nights of the year. She was also new to Vincent's. We were only given garlic knots and our drinks. 30 min later, I had to ask for our salads. 45 min later I noticed severla to go orders being checked out as well as other patrons who arrived after us receiving their food. I then a.sked our waitress what was going on and all she could says was she was sorry they are really busy.\r After complaining and expressing our disappointment, the waitress went back to have the cook make a cheese pizza for my 6 yeaar old. At this point it was not 8:15p,m. An hour later. 10 min later when the pizza came, we were told that it would be another 10 min for our food, UNACCEPTABLE I said! The manager's wife(I think) came over and gave a half-ass apology and then stated that it would be 20 more min!!!! At that point we told her again of how rediculous that was and that we were leaving. Management never came over to apologize and/or to offer a solution. We will NOT patronize Vincent's ever again!\r Prior to this incident, we loved this place and have eaten there on several occasions. more

We love Vincent's. It is a great local restaurant with a nice family atmosphere. The food is authentic and delicious, and the wait staff is always kind. I highly recommend Vincent's for dining in or take out. Three other locally owned and reasonably pizza/Italian restaurants recently went of business in North Raleigh. Let' make sure Vincent's sticks around or else we will all be eating at the big chain restaurants for more money and less quality. more

Doesn't Honor ZSpotlight 1/23/2012

Sorry to say we didn't have a great night at Vincent's. My family of 5 came by tonight to use our ZSpotlight X-Mas gift. Dominic denied us and we drove 30 miles from Clayton to pay $70 rather than $17. There was nothing posted in the restaurant stating they had discontinued a relationship with ZSpotlight. The entire encounter was uncomfortable and we're not interested in hearing about your issues with the ABC Board or ZSpotlight. Coupons are still being sold on ZSpotlight as of this writing. Family members ate at the same restaurant with the same coupon 11 days earlier and it was honored. Whatever dispute that may occur between the merchant and ZSpotlight should not be the responsibility of the customer, who is a gift recipient. Shame on Vincent's for turning this into an unpleasant dining experience for me and my family more

Food was great 12/12/2011

Went with a party of 10. Ate everything from cheese pizza to shrimp and veal. The veal was excellent and the pasta was just right. Wine selection was good. Staff was good. Food was perfect. Would recommend! more

Even with a coupon, it is still not worth it! 10/2/2011

The food was ok at best. The pizza seemed very lacking. The meatballs in the meatball sub seemed like a bad food service purchase. Maybe a shortcut your Grandfather would not take? Our server was the bartender. She seemed very dimwitted. There was some commotion - yelling at employees, far from family atmosphere. The desserts also looked like they were way past their fresh date. Great wine selection. The worst bathrooms! Very disappointing from a place touted by so many of my friends. more

noodles and ketchup 3/8/2011

Never go here for dinner! They charge way too much for cafeteria grade food. The chicken parmesan was floating in water and my wife had chicken marsala that looked like a bowl of soup. The bill was just as much as a chain like the olive garden. At least there you know what you are getting. To top it off, the owner was yelling at his waiter so that everyone could here him. I am far from a snob, but where is the professionalism! I guess their hot bar for lunch is their bread and butter because there dinner is at best a joke. Price wise and quality. more

When will they recover from the fire? 12/16/2009

I used to visit Vincent's on Capital Blv at least weekly. I loved it for what it was... a place where you stood in line, placed an order & within a few minutes the waitress would find your table & deliver your food with a smile. Their pizza was always crispy & most everything was good. Pros: reasonable prices Cons: service was terrible more

Worst meal family ever had 10/1/2009

Service was poor to non-existent. Food was barley warm the garlic rolls were hard like bricks, cheese ravioli is the same you get in grocery store freezer section. This is not homemade italian... it is all reheated and pre processed food... these people are trying to charge top dollar and serving barley reheated food.... Disappointing ripoff. Cons: pre packaged frozen Not homeade more

authentic italian 9/29/2009

went for the first time and had the portobello ravioli which was excellent. went back the week after and had te roasted chicken canelloni, which was very good but next time i will specify -no roasted red peppers or lite on the peppers.A friend ordered the gnochi, which he said were awesome-looked great, but not house made, they looked store bought (vaccum sealed) which is okay for home but not for a restaurant -they should make them fresh. The atmosphere is great- really down to earth, family type and they have a very good wine list. Pros: best garlic knots ever! Cons: service is a bit slow more

Newly disappointed 9/26/2009

We have been to Vincent's before and loved it. Every-time my parent's visit they want to go to Vincent's. Our last visit was sub-par. I don't know if the restaurant changed hands, but the customer service used to be a lot better. I ordered the seafood special and literally, the seafood was so overcooked, it was hard. I can eat overcooked shrimp, because I've done it myself, but this was petrified. I sent it back and was told I could get the scungilli special. I was still charged for my more expensive meal. 18.95! The scungilli fra diavlo they gave me in place was anything but a couple slices of scungilli and some sauce, so not fra diavlo. I had ordered a Woodmill Zin with my meal, to have the waiter come back and present a Zin that the owner ""recommended."" I was still charged with the more expensive Zin , but was served a cheaper wine on the list. I wish that owners knew that a lot of patrons who love food, were once workers in the industry, so we know the tricks. Bad customer service and cutting corners is easily visible , when you have been there and know what to look for in a restaurant. Unfortunately, a lot of the businesses realize this a little too late.... Pros: Family Friendly Cons: Overcharged more

Great food & service! 9/20/2009

We have eaten at Vincent's several times, at the old Capital Blvd. location and at its new Creedmoor Rd. location. We have always had friendly service and great food. The Italian Stallion pizza and garlic knots are to die for! Love the mom & pop restaurant attitude. Ate at a big chain rest. lately and it made us appreciate the good service at Vincent's. What a difference! Pros: great pizza & friendly staff more

Not Impressed 5/23/2009

We Started with a Mozzarella Tomato Basil appetizer, which was great! For the price, it should be. I had the Philly Cheese steak Panini. It was OK. My wife had the Gnocchi. She was not impressed. We love good Gnocchi, and this was not it. We ordered the chicken strips for our 3 year-old. It did not arrive with our food. We asked the waiter about it when he refilled our drinks. He had not put the order in...He said he would put it in and it would be right out. Over 20 minutes later they finally brought it out when we were ready to leave. And they charged us for it...? We might go back to try the pizza, but I think we'll do take out. Pros: Friendly Staff, Good bread Cons: Gnocchi, Slow Service more

Great homemade Italian! 4/14/2007

We visited them recently and they were packed. Our server was very friendly, even though she had many tables. Drinnks came quickly. The food was awesome. The pizza and pasta was hot and delicious. The owner came out and checked on us and walked around the restaurant, checking on tables and asking on everyone was. We will return. The tables are a little close to each other, but I think its like that in most restaurants. Pros: Made from scratch, friendly staff, fast service Cons: tables are a little close, more

Choose takeout.....don't bother going in. 12/10/2006

Servers are clueless and never visit the table. We ordered a pizza and it took 30 mins to arrive. When it arrived it was barely warm. We had to get up to find a server to ask for drink refills. Overpriced pizza toppings. $2.50/topping. Pros: Pizza....when not cold. Cons: Servers, time between order and when you get your food, price. more
