My family and I have been trying to make it to downtown Raleigh on the first Friday of the month. This is when they have the ArtSpace open late, etc. Anyway, we ate our dinner at Vic's. It is a very charming restaurant with pretty murals on the wall. We ordered a cheese pizza (good), Caeser salad (great, my son who never eats salads ate it), fried calamari appetizer (good) and a pasta dish. I can't remember the name but it is on the bottom. (I believe it iis the same as the other poster). That was very delicious. My daughter dropped her pizza and began devouring the pasta instead! The wait help was great also. Everyone was very nice. It had a very nice homey atmosphere and it was great seeing the different patrons...families iwth small kids to couples on a date. Everyone seemed to be enjoying their warm food and warm company. I'd definitely go there again and try other dishes.
As for parking, if you do go during that first Friday night, there is a parking garage 1 block away from City Market across from the Exploris Museum for free. I'm not sure if it is the same during all evenings though.
