Expensive and they misuse your personal info 7/5/2011

I used to shop here a lot for cat and dog food. They seemed to know what they were talking about, so I put up with the extra cost. I even signed up for the free home delivery. They asked me for my email address to send me the schedule for delivery and they said that's all they would use it for. Several months later they put me on their spam mailing list, and wouldn't remove me. I had to use their third-party opt-out link, which often generates more spam because now they know it's a live address. So thanks for that, Urbanimal. I'll stick to PetSmart from now on. more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE 6/1/2011

I have been getting food delivered from Urbanimal for a couple of years, first at my uptown apartment for my cat and now and my north Minneapolis home for my dogs. The do not carry and refused to order supplies for my turtle. In April this year I asked if I could order the castor and pollux rawhide we like by the case and was told they would work with the supplier to get a price. Weeks went by .. no further word. At the beginning of May I called because I needed Panacur C for my pregnant dog and was informed that they dont carry dewormers because they are ""toxic"". I asked again about the rawhide - no update available.\r \r Then the tornado hit on Sunday and we had to flee. We came back on Tuesday and that night my dog had 12 puppies. The process took almost 36 hours and by the end the welping pads and towels and blankets in the house were soaked- I kept changing them to keep Sophie on a dry surface between times. Still no power.. no way to do laundry - Thought I would call Urbanimal and buy some blankets or a bed of some kind to put the dogs on til I either got power or could get someone to do laundry for us. I figured that would be easier since I had an account with them so I could pay with a card and a friend would pick it up as opposed to asking someone to run to Target and have to pay out of pocket. \r \r I told the person who answered the phone what happened and what I wanted was told to hold on someone else came to the phone without any of the information I had previously relayed forcing me to use even more of my precious cell battery - the response ""we dont have anything like that you can call animal control to collect the puppies""\r \r when I emailed to cancel my service the further reply I got stated that it was a ""common misconception"" that animal control has a high euthanasia rate and that I should have also surrendered the mother to animal control.\r \r I wanted to do business with a local shop - but they call themselves a pet supply and do not stock most of what I need for my not even exotic pets ( I dont believe they dont carry any pet beds they did the last time I asked in the winter) , the information they give is bad, and when I needed help in an emergency they were wretched.\r I got through the day by settling Mom and babes on some old clothes, which I might have thought of sooner if I hadnt been so bloody tired.
