Call before you go 12/9/2007

We arrived on a Thursday night, in Dec 2007, at about 8:45pm and the doors were locked. The sign said they were open until 10pm on Thursdays. I'm not sure if they just closed early or if they were closed permanently. Call before you go to make sure. more

Simply amazing!! 9/10/2007

My mom came in town to visit from Chicago, where her and her husband have a restaurant that they have owned for 35 years. My fiancee, mother and I went to Urban for dinner on Saturday night. They were busy, but we didn't mind having a glass of wine at there very posh bar. Looking around the decor of the restaurant is very sheek but you certainly feel at home in there. Upon being seated at our table for dinner we ordered the ribs, croquettes and oysters Urban appetizers. I don't think the dishwasher had much job security that evening for we ate every last bite of our. Simply amazing!! My fiancee said they were the best ribs he's ever had in his life. For dinner I ordered a pasta dish with chicken, goat cheese and spinach which was wonderful. My mother and fiancee ordered seafood entrees, he ordered a scallop entree and she ordered angel hair with clams. The scallops were huge and cooked to perfection, which my mother had commented on how hard that is to do with such large scallops. Her pasta dish with clams she said was out of this world. The restaurant is a quaint restaurant so if you don't like to wait for a table you might want to visit on a weekday night, but you must go!! You don't want to miss out on the mouth watering food and outstanding service. This is certainly a piece of Buckhead here in Roswell. I give it two thumbs up and an empty plate!! Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Best new restaurant in Roswell 9/1/2007

We tried Urban for the first time and were delighted! We ordered 2 mixed drinks, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and 2 deserts and the bill was $70. Not bad in my book! Urban has a trendy yet comfortable atmosphere. The service was professional and friendly. It?s a white tablecloth restaurant perfect for a special night out or for people who enjoy fine dining, casual enough for a regular meal. I recommend it highly-GREAT addition to Roswell!!! Pros: Atmosphere, food, service, no valet parking-no charge for parking, nice people Cons: None!!! more

Nice atmosphere, great service, yummy food, good value 8/21/2007

We walked in off the street and were surprised by the great decor - very modern and comfortable. The menu was great - wide variety of choices and reasonable prices. Our waitor knew the menu quite well and made solid recommendations. I have a number of food allergies and they were very accomodating of them. The service was excellent - timing of food, refills, polite and knowledgable. Enjoyed the by the glass wine menu a lot. We're looking forward to going back. Pros: Service, food and value for money Cons: when crowded, will get loud. more

Aim to Please! 8/17/2007

We LOVE Urban. The staff is friendly, helpful, and the owner's absolutely AIM TO PLEASE! I've been to the restaurant on holidays, weekends and weeknights. I've always been happy when I leave. When we've had a challenge with our food, which incidentally has only happened once, the staff has bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. We dine out at least 4 nights a week and eat in cities all over the world. The menu is unique and not over priced. They have interesting drink specials and the atmosphere is very trendy. Please give it a try. You won't be disappointed! Pros: Food, service, drink specials, and the OWNERS are hands on more

Best New Restaurant in North Atlanta 7/5/2007

I would like to say that those who have written negative reviews on this restaurant must have some axe to grind. There is nothing that could be further from the truth about poor food quality. I have eaten in some of the best casual fine dining places in the country and can't remember when I have enjoyed an evening more. My five guests would all say the same and I'm sure they all, like myself, can't wait to return. I think the selection is more than adequate, quality and creativity is unmatched. Could the service be improved, I would have to say yes but it did not interfere with the wonderful dining experience we had and from what I heard from those at adjoining tables - - they, too, were more than satisfied with their evening. All I can say is ""If you don't go and give Urban a try, you will be missing out on one of the best dining experiences you will ever have. Pros: Ambience, friendliness, quality, selection, a real thumbs up Cons: Just can't get there often enough more

Dining Disaster 6/22/2007

Those who have written negative reviews on the service and food at this restaurant are correct. I went there last night and will never return again. The only thing this restaurant has going for it is the decor. You would think if one spent so much money on atmosphere that they might invest in food quaility and training staff as well. Those who are raving about this place must not be use to casual fine dining or must have alot to gain from such reviews. Pros: Ambience Cons: you want me to list them all??? more

Wonderful in Every Way! 6/22/2007

I went there with 6 friends on a Saturday night and everything was perfect from drinks, to tapas, to dinner! Highly recommended to everyone. I had the scallops and they were perfectly cooked. Would love to go back anytime! Pros: food, service, drinks, decor Cons: they won't let me live there more

Wonderful waiter! 6/21/2007

My fiance and I have been to Urban twice. Once when it first opened, and then again a couple of weeks ago with friends. We have had a great experience both times and our friends loved the place as well. We've had the same waiter twice (can't remember his name), but he was very friendly and knowledgable. He discussed the oysters at length with my fiance. We just moved to the north suburbs and we love having a resturant nearby with the vibe that Urban has. One of my favorite things there is the blue cheese chips with a balsamic syrup. They are fabulous! We haven't tried any of the desserts yet, but it sounds like that needs to be next on our list. more

GREAT AND ENJOYABLE PLACE!!! 6/18/2007

Our experience at Urban was a good one!! Let me start off by saying the service was Great. Our waiter and assistant and the I guess manager who were walking around were very friendly. And now to the food. The food and appetizers were excellent! Everythigs came out just perfect! The music at the place was immediately put me in such a relaxing mood!! We'll definately plan to come back soon and often!! more

Save Your Money and Skip It 6/7/2007

Having lived in San Francisco, Denver and Chicago, I have something of a difficult time finding consistently good restaurants here in the Atlanta burbs, although have found better in the city's eclectic neighborhoods, like the Highlands. URBAN was a disappointment. more

Excellent design & cuisine options 5/25/2007

I went with a close friend to have drinks and appetizers at the bar on a Saturday night. We were very impressed with our experience. The owners were so attentive and polite. There are a lot of appetizer options and the ones we selected were awesome! The bartender was really courteous and provided us with recommendations - his name is Josh (I think). I work in midtown where the restaurant options are endless. This is such a breath of fresh air in Roswell!! I am so happy there is a place like this so close to home. The music is really modern and chill (like Budda Bar) - not the typical watered down jazz or background music. I plan to go back often! Pros: ambiance, menu options, friendly & appreciative staff more

Best neighborhood dining in all of Roswell 5/24/2007

Took a friend for her birthday lunch. Decor and Ambience was beautiful. Had great service and the luncheon menu was wonderful. Great Calamari, and spare ribs in a wonderful wine reduction sauce My chicken was outstandingly good and beautifully plated. The cheesecake and mocha coffee were delicious. Pros: In a strip mall and parking is a breeze Intimate dining for 4 or 6. Comfy seating.beautiful decor and good service Cons: Wish it was in my neighborhood--Vinings more

I Thought The Name Was Misleading 5/20/2007

The guys at work wanted to come up to Urban: Eat Drink Lounge after work for a couple drinks one night so I decided to stop in and see what this place was all about. I thought that it was going to be more of a lounge from the name . However the lounge only seats about 4-5 people. That was a little disappointing for me and the guys. The prices of the food were fair, though I thought the food was only fair as well. I would have rather stayed at home to eat and save a buck. The service was so-so. Its nice for a date but I wouldn't recommend it for any kind of banquet or large get-together. Maybe they will extend the lounge in the future to accommodate larger parties or get-togethers. Pros: Date Dining Cons: Lack of ""lounge"" more

Better than any restaurant in town! 5/15/2007

Listen... My wife used to create restaurants for people for a living, and I'm not talking about just anywhere. She did places you read about in Food & Wine Magazine, Bon Apetit, Saveur, whatever. She was a restaurant consultant, and she is an expert, and even she was impressed by what Urban had to offer. I am not an adventurous diner by any stretch of the imagination, and yet, when we went to Urban, she made me try everything. Guess what? I wanted to hate it... I thought I hated peas... tried that pea soup and thought I was in love. Never in my life thought I'd like goat cheese, duck, or figs, yet wifey told me I tried it and couldn't get enough. Oysters. What the heck? Never had anything but those things with cocktail sauce and crackers, and the chef, Mix, explained the difference between those different types I tried, and sure enough, there really is a variety of flavors between them! I'm a stubborn traditionialist, but this restaurant made me feel so different, so informed, and so damn satisfied, that I felt like someone hip as hell walking in the door, and the place made the wife's and my night . Does this make me metrosexual?!? more

Amazingly, incredibly unexpected! 5/15/2007

The food was expertly seasoned, the decor made me feel beautiful, and I felt like I was the only diner in the restaurant despite the fact that the place was mostly filled. This feels like a vacation from life... a peaceful paradise in which every taste is ethereal. You need to bring friends here... or a date... or anyone!!!! Pros: Perfection in the 'burbs Cons: A shame that it isn't closer to the masses more

Comfortable, Enjoyable & Great Food!!! 5/14/2007

My wife and I have been to Urban several times since they opened and I can say we have not been disappointed. We have sampled many of the items on their fantastic menu and have been impressed with the quality, quantity and the price. The service, at times, has been spotty but that is to be expected when a new restaurant is getting their staff trained to the owners expectations. Every staff member has been very helpful, polite and available but not hovering. This is one of the best new restaurants we have been to in a long time and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants an enjoyable dining experience. Pros: Ambience & Great Food Cons: Can't go there often enough more

Urban: Fresh Addition to Roswell 5/14/2007

I went to dinner with a friend at Urban a few weeks back and had a very pleasant experience. I knew they had just opened so I gave a little leeway with the service...it takes time to filter through and create a good group of staff. Although our server was very polite and prompt, she was not as versed with the menu. The food itself was amazing. I had the filet which was cooked to perfection and partnered very well with the port wine reduction sauce it came with. The spinach salad was unlike anything I've ever tried and the service for the pea soup was very unique (poured from a kettle)...both items were fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is modern and sophisticated...I LOVE that this is not a family place. I've started bringing friends up on Mondays for Happy Hour to enjoy the $.35 raw oysters. The bar staff is very knowledgable, friendly and attentive. I like that I no longer have to drive down to the city to experience this style of restaurant and it has become a regular hangout for me and my friends. Pros: Great food, open late on Fridays Cons: Location (shopping center) more

A Dining Disaster!!!! Left a Bad Taste in My Mouth!!!! 5/13/2007

After reading such exceptional reviews on the food and decor, I was emphatically excited to dine at Urban this past weekend with my family. When we arrived at Urban the hostess greeted us welcoming, yet when she seated us and we asked for another table she became visably annoyed. The building itself and decor are outstanding, very impressive. But, that was all that met or exceeded our expectations. Pros: AMBIENCE Cons: SERVICE more

Fantastic Menu 5/13/2007

After eating at Urban, I must say this may be my new regular place. The menu is outstanding. It is rare to see a restaurant in Roswell (or any of the suburbs) with food of this caliber. The Pork tenderloin was amazing, and I thought the wine selection was great. So many restaurants around here have nothing but California wines. It was nice to see a lot of European wines to choose from as well. And the atmosphere does not feel like a suburban cookie cutter. It's very modern looking and romantically candle-lit. Pros: Food Quality Cons: Odd Location, in a strip mall. more
