Sadly, I have to agree with everyone on not consigning here. I get nothing back on great clothes. Goodwill actually charges more for their items. On top of that, the 2 older women in the back are completely lifeless. One is like a Russian sergeant about 75 years old. She literally gave me back 4 sweaters that I wore maybe twice because they didn't fit anymore. They were like brand new and she said they only accept very good clothing. Um...ok? Tried saying there was ring around the collar lol? She wears glasses and told me there was a stain on a brand new sweatshirt. I'm young and don't wear glasses, I saw nothing. She kept pointing to something? I'm thinking maybe it was a astigmatism in her eye?? The other woman doesn't smile. As old as dirt what does she know about designer clothes? She acted like she ran Fashion Week in NYC with the stone cold face and bitter attitude. The Russian lady dresses like she just got off the boat from 1900. I mean, I see nothing in there higher than a Coach bag which, you could get with free points at Mohegan. I did see clothes that were 99% more worn than mine that were given back to me. Not worth the gas money or time. If they try to jam anymore crap in there, people won't be able to walk. They really need to try to get more money for items if they want to stay in business...ripoffs. more

The Greatest Place to be!!!! more

Waste 0f Time 4/6/2012

I wouldn't bother consigning here if you have really nice/new designer clothes. You will not get the money you deserve! I was also was under the impression after reading their website they took in only high end, new or gently worn clothes. I brought in all designer clothes, some never worn with tags. They marked them so low, and after signing their contract they let me know about the coupons available to customers...an additional 15-20% off items. By the time they take their cut and the additional coupons you end up with almost nothing! Not worth your time! Their are much better consignment stores out there for high end items. Also, I was sad to see that most of the merchandise is worn looking. Items I would never consider consigning, but would give to Goodwill. more

DO NOT consign here 7/23/2011

I would not recommend consigning here. By browsing the website I was under the impression this would be the greatest place to bring my really expensive, gently used (some new with tags, actually), designer items. I was MORTIFIED when I saw my cut of the sale price of a few items. A brand new purse (tags included), $218 retail; I only got $4.00. That means they sold that purse for TEN DOLLARS. I would go pick up ALL of my stuff.. but I signed a contract that says I will be charged $2 PER ITEM if I pick them up prior to the 50 or 60 days. I had another designer item that retails at $158 and although it didn't have tags, it was excellent condition, rarely used. I got $2. If I sold it on ebay for $10, I would have gotten more money!!! I realized that this consignment store is NOT ABOUT DESIGNER ITEMS. They pretend to be, but when you look at the racks, it's all higher end clothing-- Express, The Limited, Gap. I probably would have made more money with a red sweater from Express than I did with a $200 hand bag. Extremely disappointing. I'm praying that I don't sell anything else and when the time is up, I can go get them and sell them myself on ebay or something else. However, I did learn one thing. You certainly can get a bargain here! So if you're looking to shop.. go right ahead because you'll probably buy my $200+ items for $10. Awesome. more

Trashy 7/21/2011

I have to echo ""Wouldn't advise going here,"" the service is weak and they don't do justice to items that range beyond the quality of t-shirts, jeans, and polyester. Of the five items I brought in, two were new with the tag still on, and only one had seen the inside of a washing machine. I was initially pleased when two pieces sold in the first week, although it turns out the suiting separates were group together as one item. I wonder if that would have happened if they weren't the same size? So after 30 days, they halve the ticket price of the remaining items, and after 60 days, they give them to charity, but you can reclaim your consignments after 50 days. Since nothing sold after the first week, I was eager to go back and get my things, figuring I could take them to a boutique or a reputable internet seller. The clerk seemed surprised and told me to ""go find them in the racks."" After 45 minutes of searching where they ""should be"" and then where ""they might be,"" and enlisting the help of another employee, I gave up on locating the most valuable item I brought in and figured they could find it and call me. In my quest to search every damned rack in the store, I got a good sense of what really drives this business. It's the stuff in my closet that I would never ask anyone to give me money for; the cheap, worn schlock that goes straight to the donation box, and it's organized no better than the Goodwill. It's a roll of the dice trying trying to find anything in there. Oh, and my missing piece? The two employees who knew I was fervently searching for it neglected to notice it being sold while I was in the store. I walked away with minimum wage for the time I wasted in there. more

Simply the Best! 9/12/2010

I admit to being a clothesaholic and I probably shop at consignment stores 3-4 times a week and the majority of clothes in my closet comes from one of the three Uptown Consignment shops. I can't tell you how many friends I have sent there and everyone agrees this is the crown jewel of bargain shopping. more

This is the best place ever! 9/4/2010

I just moved here from NYC and I am always looking for bargains. Some friends suggested I try Uptown Consignment and I'm glad I did. I could not believe how clean and organized this place is. The clothing was all current style and they are extremely fussy on what they take in. I spent $160.00 for 3 big bags worth of clothing and easily got over a thousand dollars in value. This was probably the best consignment store I have ever been in so I can't wait to try their other stores. I see awards hanging on their walls and can see why they are so popular. more

Wouldnt advise going here 2/25/2009

I brought a fur coat to this shop looking to sell it because I dont wear fur. The coat was in great shape when I dropped it off. Two months later, I stopped in to find two things 1) I was told that someone was interested but they wanted to make a lower offer and they could give me no reason as to why they didnt call me to ask if I would accept it. 2) My coat was damaged. When I brought this to the owners attention, she said she would not pay to have it fixed but I could leave it there and they would try to contact the person who was interested and offer her a lower price with the condition that she now buys it as is....broken. 3 Days later, I had to call the shop as nobody called me and the coat was still there. Upon picking it up, I didnt even get an apology or anything. They were the least bit concerned with making a sale. I walked in with an item in great condition and out with a damged one. I wouldnt advise going to a place like this. As a consumer, I expect a business like that to take care of the merchandise there....especially something expensive that I place in their care. They were willing to take 1/2 if someone bought it but were not willing to fix it when another customer damaged it. Nice place huh! more
