I noticed that their are negative comments about this company, but (myself as a customer) I haven't had any issues with their service. more

Simple problem they couldn't even fix! 1/24/2012

When I first went to see them my window regulator broke they charged me 300 dollars to fix it. I asked them if for the time being they could just put the window up until I could come up with the money to get it fixed. James their MASTER mechanic told me of course...when I get that sucker up it won't come down for anything! The other mechanic put a wooden block to ""hold it up"" a few days later the window fell. :( I went back James said that the mechanic who did it was lazy and that it was typical of him to do such a poor job. All this was said in front of the owner Alfredo Razo. He laughed and agreed with James. James told me that I needed to get this fix but again I stated that for the time being I could not afford 300 for the regulator and that if they could help me get the window up! Mind you this is the middle of winter and I paid for their services this was not some favor they did for me.James assured me that he would personally get the job done right! In the mean time I spoke to Alfredo about a tuneup on my car... Needless to say he was charging me 190.00 dollars for the tuneup! I asked why so expensive he stated I needed Iridium spark plugs and that they were 17.00 each. Of course with my own extensive experience with cars I felt that I needed to shop around to be sure I was not being quoted incorrectly. I am a women so I've been lied to many times about the actual price of fixing cars. I did my homework and found that they were over charging me! Brake masters quoted me 130.00 dollars. I told Alfredo that I was sorry but I was not willing to pay 60 dollars more for just a tuneup and that I would take it elsewhere. With in a week later my window fell again! I went to take the car and spoke to both James and Alfredo and both said it was only suppose to be a quick fix but again I told them that James guaranteed me the window wouldn't move if he fixed it. Both acted a bit weird I was annoyed and left I told them this was an in convince and that I had to go to school and that I would bring it back! I unfortunately waited two weeks later due to my busy schedule to call them back I spoke to Alfredo on the phone and asked if I could bring the car in to perhaps put up the window once and for all! He stated again that I needed to fix it I again stated that they did not do the job they said they would and that since I had already paid for it I felt it only fair that they should do the job right. He did not seemed concerned in helping me. I told him was he not concerned with losing my business and he stated ""well you took your tuneup somewhere else! "" I was shocked that that was even brought up! I explained that he was charging me too much and he wasn't willing to match their competitor to keep my business in the first place! He was very rude and hung up on me! I called around to get the window fixed and I only paid 170.00 ......130.00 less then what he had quoted me! I'm sorry but I'm not a person that likes to be taken advantage of especially because I am a women.... I am not ignorant and I have told everyone not to take their car to them and as I can see they don't have much a good following to say otherwise. BBB has been notified! more

FIXED KIA ISSUE 8/27/2010

We at Upper Valley Automotive acknowledge that the tech that is no longer working at Upper Valley Automotive did indeed have a problem with Nancy Aniszewska's KIA however we did offer to fix our problem for free even if I had to replace the engine on the shop expense. The customer did not want us to fix it and wanted a new engine from KIA. We are only human and human makes mistakes. It's how you fix the mistake its what you are most valued. Since Nancy didn't want us to make it right and insisted to get it her way, we have decided to let our shop insurance to take care of the claim. We at Upper Valley Automotive have terminated the tech that caused to the problem and as of Nov 2009 we now employed a certified ASE master tech and continue to grow. We have been in business for four and half years and we continue to grow and gain new client everyday. We do our best and go the distance with our clients with honesty and respect. more

Horror of all Horrors 10/26/2009

I brought my car in 10/19/2009 for the routine maintance. I needed a timing belt change. They also stated I needed the spark plugs in the fire wall changed and checked the coolant. I brought it in on a Monday evening. The work was to be completed on Tuesday evening. I called Tue eve and they stated they did not have the correct tool and had to purchase it delaying the repair.Tue No car but worked continually on it.. I called @ 3pm Wednesday. They promiced it would be done by 5 or they would call.By 5 no car and NO call. I did get my car Thursday afternoon . I drove it to the Dr. Fri. and immediately noticed I had a roaring lion that could not stay running on a incline. The check engine light came on immediately and the air conditioner did not work . I returned it to them( because I had already pd the bill in full) and they stated they would fix it quickly. Friday night they iformed me it would not be a ""quick"" fix and our vacation needed to be canceled. At no time did they offer me alternate transportation ( other that to thier shop) and when I asked for a car to use stated they had nothing to offer. I learned Friday that they had installed the timing belt without aligning it. Saturday they stated they worked all day and could not repair it and would be taking sunday off. Monday afternoon I had a friend drive me to the shop and bypassed the front desk and spoke directly to the mechanic working on my car. He had been the only mechanic working on it all week he stated. He was very frustrated with my car. When I asked him if he had ever installed a timing belt before he laughed and said, I only installed one before this and never on a foreign car.I do not know what is wrong or how to fix it. I do not know what I am doing.""I proceeded to the office to speak to the owners son who laughed at me and told me I did not understand. The mechanic and I both spoke english. Although it does not appear to be the owners/sons primary language it is mine. I understand it. I said,""O.K. lets go and speak to the mechanic. We went out and the mechanic repeated the statement infront of him. The owner later told me the mechanic misspoke,he had installed several and told me this just to get back at the owner for making him work on his day off. He told me he was firing the employee for upsetting me. I demanded they stop work and have my car towed to the Kia dealer as they had no clue what they were doing. They consented and even told the Kia dealer they had it on the truck and were towing it. When it never showed up at Kia we started calling around. Soon my car drove up in the driveway and the Upper Valley Automotive Man/owner appeared with my key and a multitude of stories of which I have learned not to believe. Against my will they did further work on my car and somehow in 2 hours they seemed to complete what they could not do in 6 days.Car returned to my house by owner, engine and break light on,driven almost 100 miles,Kia stated timing belt improperly installed and assessing engine damage. They should not consent to/ perform work they are not qualified or knowledgable to perform. I did not want to give them any stars in this review but you cannot publish without any stars. Pros: Kia stated Engine totaled from mechanic ignorance.Bolts brok Cons: New engine $7575.00 .They carry NO INSURANCE. more
