Best

The crickets are actually pretty tasty. Fun place to eat for sure!

Worst

I used to think that it was amusing with decent food. Now, I find it tiresome with mediocre food, served with no enthusiasm whatsoever.

Excellent, with qualifications. 7/23/2002

Typhoon is one of my favorite and most often visited restaurants. Beautiful sunsets and ambience. Not every dish on menu is brilliant, but what's good is damn good. Favorite dishes are kal-bi, filipino bbq pork, deep fried catfish with black bean sauce, and mi goreng (Indonesian crispy noodles). Order family style. Appetizers are serviceable, but as a whole not amazing. Desserts are somewhat uninspired as well. Crickets are best dish among insects. Pros: Good dishes very good, Beautiful setting, Beautiful room Cons: Starters unimpressive, Desserts unimpressive more

overpriced and bad service 6/26/2002

This place is way over priced. The food tasted like it belong at a bar. We ordered calamari and it was so overcooked we could barely even eat it. The waiters were rude and unattentive. Dont's waste your money here. more

Catfish for two 6/3/2002

One of the best dates in L.A.? Watching the G-5s land whilst sharing Typhoon's whole catfish in black bean sauce. Pros: Quirky airport locale, Refined, yet relaxed, Can get noisy Cons: Small parking lot more
