Best

I've eaten here twice and it's now a MUST anytime I'm in Raleigh. First and foremost, the pizza is AMAZING. I've never been to NYC, so I guess I can't make any claims about how it...

Worst

food was atrociously bad

Avoid at all costs 7/6/2008

I ate pizza here once and was very unimpressed. I then decided to give the pasta a shot and, again, was very unimpressed. The service was mediocre at best (no drink refills, never gave us the check, had no recommendations to share) and the meal itself was absolutely terrible. The salad consisted of iceberg lettuce and a splash of onion (tomatoes may have been left out due to health concerns at the time) - nothing else (the dressing was not all that bad, however). The lasagna dish was nothing but cheese and hard noodles. The meat tasted sour and fishy and had a ugly film on it. Additionally, the lasagna was not layered at all and served in a bowl not the usual caraffe-style presentation you would receive at a truly authentic Italian restaurant. Frankly, I have had better ""authentic"" Italian at Olive Garden. I am all for supporting local, family-owned businesses, but Two Guys is hard to revisit after the two bad experiences I have had in the past year. Pros: NCSU memorabilia (if you're a fan), downtown/college feel Cons: Bad presentation, mediocre service, ugly dining area, filmy meat, bad salads more

Best pizza and pasta around in Raleigh 11/3/2007

I love this place. I have been going there ever since I was a child and they have the best Spaghetti and Meatballs and their pizza is just out of this world. One large pizza looks as though it could end world hunger and the service is really great. Pros: Great service Cons: Parking can be a pain in the keister more

30 years of the BEST PIZZA in RALEIGH! 10/23/2007

I started eating at 2 Guys in 1973 while attending NCSU. The ""Penthouse Owen"" guys ate there EIGHT nights a week!! There was no cafeteria on campus, so 2 Guys became our college kitchen table. The owners and waitstaff treated us like family. Occasionally after supper, the waitress would treat us to the wonderfull baklava which somehow never appeared on the bill! \r \r If you want a great family place with delicious hearty fare at a student friendly price, look no further. After graduation, my wife and I, and now my wife and I and our two sons have enjoyed frequent trips across town to get a taste of the the pizza ( we always ask for THICK crust) or the 2 Guys Special ( messy, but worth every napkin and dribbled shirt). We always laugh with friends when we tell them that we pass at least 20 Pizza places on our way to 2 Guys.\r \r Now my older son is at NCSU and we meet him there as often as we can to enjoy the food and a little trip down memory lane.\r \r 2 Guys is a college kind of place that welcomes families and friends. The owners are likely to sit down with you for a moment to catch up on the latest family news or make sure your tea glass is full. I can honestly say I have never eaten anything at 2 Guys that I didn't like. The new owners have done a great job of preserving the original feel while sprucing it up for the next generation of devoted fans. I hope to treat my grandkids to pizza a 2 Guys in the years to come. Pros: Simple hearty food, Incredible Pizza, casual atmosphere Cons: Parking... come for supper and park across the street on campus more

great pizza, and italian dishes. real family homey place. 7/24/2007

thought i would write in about two guys, i used to go there to eat all the time between 1980-2001, but we stopped in 2001 cause over the years the owners let it run down and get dirty, but it always had great pizza and tomato sauce. recently i found out that in june 2007 it has a new owner and they had come in and freshened the place up!! well, i thought we would give it a try again to see for ourselves.we could not beleive our eyes when we got there, the carpet was new, that nasty wood panelling had been painted over with wolfpack red and white, with black trim, the ceiling has been replaced, modernized lighting in the dining room with new pictures and posters on the walls with spot lights highlighting them, most importantly the bathrooms spruced up, which used to be nasty,( even red toilets in the ladies room!!!). we were totally overwelmed with how nice it now looks now and the food still tastes great like it did years ago for very reasonable prices, the service was good and friendly as always, and i will start going back more often again. so my hat goes off to the new owner for the cosmetic changes made, but still keeping the menu and food the same!!! we will start recomending this restaurant to people again!!! dont miss going there if you get a chance. Pros: service, quality, and price Cons: sometimes paking can be a challenge more

good Greek / Italian food. 5/9/2007

I haven't been to Two Guys in years. I was actually surprised that they were still there. They're doing somthing right to have been in business in excess of thirty years. I remember the place when i was a student at NCSU. It's still run by Family and students. Pictures of college memorbilia from the seventies and through the ninties still adorn the walls. It made me remember my fun days at the university. The food hasn't seemed to change one bit. As in the past I went home with food to spare and the pricing was affordable. It's also the only place I can think of that still has crushed ice. I'll have to say, the next time I'm in Raleigh I will be sure to visit Two Guys once more. more

Amerinothing 5/6/2007

As you walk in, you'll notice the cheap, gaudy horribly inexpensive decor that will later define your meal experience from top to bottom. The service is minimalistic at best, and closely parallels the pace of evolution. We ordered a margarita and in return received a syrupy concoction although properly chilled would not go over in hell. For our entree my girlfriend and I ordered the cheese ravioli and she had the chicken parm. Overall both of our meals were so off the mark of italian cuisine that I almost went looking for Ashton Kutcher and his crew. Her dish contained so much cheese that it was beyond disgusting, my meal was dry on the inside and yet remarkably contained a slimy outer shell. Even though we touched little of our meal and consumed more water then margarita our waitress seemed oblivious to our concerns and instead offered us our check and the complimentary goodbye, although after an extended amount of time that only added to the frustration of our meal experience. Please dont frequent this establishment they falsly identify themselves as an italian locale. more

All around fantastic 3/6/2007

This was the place to eat in the '80s, as it remains today. Great Food, Great Prices...this is a can't miss for satisfaction! Pros: Great Service, Great Food, Very good prices more

Two Guys Tradition 5/17/2005

One of the few TRULEY family run businesses around. Walk in the door at lunch and get greeted by Mrs. C. Generations of people have been eating there for years. One of 2 restaurants on Hillsborough Street that have been in service for 30 plus years. This business catered exclusively to Wolfpack Club events for years. Also this business feed the Mens and Womens Basketball, Football, Soccer, Wrestling and Swim Camps for YEARS. Just a lot of tradition with Two Guys...a true Wolfpack meeting place!! You dont like your food...they will bend over backwards to make sure YOU are satisfied with your meal. more

Nice and Convinient 5/27/2003

Good food, good service, occasionaly i've had service problems there but never major and not often. Value's reasonable, parking's a you know what but it's Hillsborough st. not their fault really. A little italian place- somewhere mixed between a mom and pop look and a pizzaria, but definately nice. Pros: Good Food, Inexpensive more

Best Pizza in Town 2/23/2003

Two Guys' has the absolute best hand-tossed pizza in Raleigh. Their desserts, especially their homemade cheesecake and huge portions of tiramisu are unbelievably delicious and better than any I've had anywhere else. The blue cheese dressing is the best you'll find anywhere and the marinara sauce tastes like authentic Italian cuisine, not something straight out of a can. I've been going to Two Guys' for many years! Pros: inexpensive, friendly staff, great specials Cons: parking more

Great food for a great deal! 7/24/2002

Where else in Raleigh can you get a salad, a large piece of veal, eggplant, and a side of spaghetti for under $7! The tiramisu is homeade and just great. Atmosphere is very college, but food and prices make up for it. Pros: Inexpensive, Great Food, Awesome Desserts Cons: Parking, Atmosphere more
