I'm a former client of Nadine's who lost track of her a few years ago. I ran into her this summer and learned she was at Traci Scott. I finally saw her today and was reminded how exceptionally talented she is mixing and matching color. There's a reason I used to call her the color wizard. In the 4 years since I last saw Nadine, I've used two different colorists who are good, but Nadine is UBER good. I'm blown away by the special touches she adds to give depth to the highlights and base color. It looks natural and beautiful. Thanks to Nadine and the salon staff, I will be booking again in the near future. more

River Oak's/Houston's Best Hair Stylist 4/19/2010

I was at the gym and stopped a woman who had a very polished haircut that would make most women envious, so of course, I stopped her! We talked briefly and she gave me the name of her stylist and salon, which was the Traci Scott Salon on West Gray in River Oaks. After leaving a message for a consultation, I was put in touch with the most professional and polite stylist I have ever dealt with and we made arrangements for the consult and follow up. Everyone in the salon was accommodating and friendly, and I received the best cut and style I have ever had at age 41. I've had my hair cut at all the swanky and ambitiously over-priced places, but this man possesses superior skill in his profession. The best person in Houston for discriminating women with high-standards looking to look and feel their very best. Oh! It's Alan. i finally met my match! 3/24/2010

I have been searching for someone new to do my hair for sometime now, because the last few places I've been to just haven't done it for me. I think I may have finally found someone I truly trust and feel comfortable with. I saw the reveiws on Cion and decided to make an appt. Had my first color/cut with him last friday & love it. The salon itself has a great atmosphere & very relaxing. I had people at work compliment me the next day asking what I did to my hair & that it looked fabulous. Cion takes his time to make sure you look your best & you never feel rushed or pressured to buy anything. All the other stylists are super friendly too. Something i have never done before either....book another appt within a week, but this time I'm going to get a shampoo/blowdry/style. He does great styling as well! I would recommend Alan to anyone... and I do! 3/16/2010

Alan has been doing my hair for over a year and I always get compliments. Before I started seeing him I always had my hair short because no one could make it look good if it was much past my chin. Thanks to Alan I can have ""long"" (for me) hair and it looks great. He always asks me what I want to do when I sit down and I always say whatever you think. And it's always perfect! Cion knows hair, he has been cutting my hair for the last five years; it never gets boring. Cion is simply amazing. We always talk about what I would like and I feel extremely comfortable with him working on my hair because I know that when he is done, my hair will look great. The atmosphere of the salon is so relaxing and I love their coffee. Pros: It is the best experience from the moment you walk in. more

He listens to my suggestions and repairs the mistakes I suggested, that don't work out. He never overbooks, so you do not feel rushed. \r \r He ""knows"" color and gives the best haircut. I recommend him -- you won't be disappointed. Pros: Attractive and comfortable salon. more

Before Paul Reyes started doing my hair I was switching stylists every few months. I couldn’t find anybody I could depend on to make me look better on every visit and whose trims and styling and color made it easy for me to take care of my hair later. Incredible hair and service 6/4/2009

What I love about Alan is as soon as you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile. He is so excited to not only talk to you yet give you the haircut/hilites or whatever the service is as if you are the most important person of the day. He is fun focused and dedicated to his work. Having my own busines as a lifestylecoach/personal trainer for over 15 years nothing beats customer service and consistency. So if you are looking for a hairstyle that is all about you and great service to boot Alan is the one for you. My hair looks great and he is always checking to make sure it fits your expectation. I absolutely love Alan and depend on him to keep my short hair style looking great. He listens, advises and produces fabulous results. This is a stylist who works with who you are and maximizes it to the fullest. Since meeting him some 5 years ago, I have had countless strangers come up to me and compliment me on my great haircut. Best hairdresser in Houston - Cion 3/6/2009

If you desire a very compassionate and talented hair dresser then you need to see Cion at Traci Scott Salon. Cion has been doing my hair for over 6 years and prior to him I have only had one other hair dresser in my umpteen years in Houston. Cion is truly gifted in hair color, cuts and styling. His first and foremost priority is to make you happy. I have naturally curly hair and with his talent in straightening, we manage my hair well in the Hot Houston Humid weather. No Bad Hair Days! 2/28/2009

Alan has been my stylist for 13 years and I would follow him anywhere in Houston to have my hair done. I trust him completely when discussing options for hair color treatment and cut. Since I have become allergic to hair color products, Alan has worked closely with me to develop a plan for my hair. He never gives up and provides straight, honest feedback. Hair is so important...it is one of the first thing people notice about a person and it gives me great confidence knowing that my hair is done professionally and in line with today's fashion. Excellent environment, plenty of parking 2/27/2009

I followed Cion to this salon and the salon is so cute and welcoming! Cion has more privacy than at his prior salon and the mood/setting is far different-there is a more relaxed vibe. I also appreciate a sizeable parking lot. This salon seems friendlier and is full service, including makeup and massage. more

Favorite Houston stylist 2/24/2009

I moved to Houston a few years ago and did not know many people. I tried to get stylist recommendations from new friends. I went to a few of their suggestions, but could never find anyone that knew how to deal with my very thick and course hair. On top of that, I have it chemically straightened and like to add color to jazz up the boring brown. For those of you with hair like mine, you know that your stylist HAS to know how to work with it or it will end up being a big, frizzy mess. You just can't stop in at supercuts. After months of searching and many not so good cuts, I came across Cion's name and read many of his recommendations on citysearch. I can't even tell you how happy I am with Cion's work. He does an amazing job and I never leave disappointed. He gives me what I like to call, ""hott hair"", because that's how I feel once I leave his chair. He's very easy to talk to and makes the salon experience well worth the cost. I have been going to him for a few years now and will continue to for years to come. I LOVE Alan. I love curly hair but I had given up on my curly hair when I first started going to Alan. He convinced me to let him try and cut and style it curly and it was great. AND he helped me figure out how to style it myself so that it looks (almost) as good as when he does it. Thats huge right? You know, you walk out of the salon with a fabulous doo and it never looks like that again till the next time you walk out.\r Very comfortable, friendly, casual environment. These guys all clearly love what they do, love their clients. Its always a lift to walk in more

I found my home here! 2/19/2009

This was my first time at TraciScott and I sat in Justin's chair for highlights and a cut. Being someone who has been salon hopping for the last year, I have to say that I have finally found my home! Everyone was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Justin was wonderful and listened to the issues I was having with my hair and I left a very happy customer. In fact, I already made my next appointment! I Highly suggest this unique salon to anyone who wants that one-on-one feel that you don't get in large, hectic salons. Best Precision Cut and Amazing Stylists! 2/19/2009

From the moment you pull up to Traci Scott Salon you know you are in for a treat. It's a great location with easy parking. The salon is located in an historic Montrose house that makes the atmosphere warm and inviting. It's a very calm, relaxing environment and you feel as if you are in your home with a personal stylist vs. being in a crowded, loud salon. \r \r Cion has over 25 years of experience and he was able to correct a previous haircut that had made my hair unmanageable. He is a master with scissors and a genious with picking a haircolor. Cion is one of the top stylists in the city of Houston and I would recommend him to anyone.
