Great place to go. I went in with a bad haircut from another salon around the area. The stylist that saw me was Jillian. She was great and her best to fix the cut which look great. Thank goodness of her. She listens and understands exactly what you want. Pros: great place good location more

So you want to go to a stylist who knows what she's doing and is friendly and loves what she does? Then you need to see JENI at The Upper Hand! She is the best and does such a fabulous job! She did my cut and highlights and it turned out exactly as I wanted and I loved it! I will definitely go back to her! So if you're looking for someone that you can trust to do your hair (because you don't want to go to just anyone), then Jeni is your girl! She's THE BEST! Thanks Jeni!!! more

I have been going to the Royal Oaks Upper Hand since it opened and go for a full day (massage, facial, waxing, haircut and pedicure once a month. Serena is a great hairdresser, New York Trained, and she also does an amazing facial! The atmosphere is very nice and I love the great massaging pedicure chairs. The sanitizing of the pedicure chairs and equipment is a definite plus! Pros: Knowledgeable staff and nice facilities Cons: Can be noisy during facials and pedicures more

I have to say that Jillian is the best hairdresser I have been to. I came the first time with an extremely horrible and unfortunate haircut - the dreaded ""mullet!"" Jillian immediately made an action plan for the next few months to help grow the sides down, while cutting the remaining hair to not look out of place. It took a few months to get to this point, but yesterday she was able to completely cut my hair AND IT LOOKS FABULOUS! However, that is not the best part. Jillian is not only a great hairdresser; she is kind, fun, spunky and accommodating. She will do whatever is necessary to meet your schedule because she is that dedicated to your needs. I can safely say that she will be my hairdresser for the remainder of my life, God willing. Pros: Service, Atmosphere more

Jillian is a terrific stylist, I drive from inside the loop out to the Royal Oaks location just so I can get her to do my hair. She's always in a great mood and is very honest! Just wait til she starts singing along with the peppy music playing in the salon (sometimes you may even catch a dance move!). I always try to schedule my haircuts before I have a night out so that I KNOW my hair will look great! If you're looking for a new stylist, I highly recommend Jillian. Jillian is the most amazing hair stylist! She is a trained in New York and has a great positive attitude, shes not a pushy hairdresser and is open- minded and honest with what she thinks is best for your personal style. Lacy is amazing. She is a NY trained stylist who actually listens to the client. Great cut and great color. Be sure to book early though as it can be hard to get a last minute appointment. Pros: great stylist/colorist Cons: can be hard to get last minute appointment more

I recently had a great hair experience with Carmella from the UpperHand Salon. I had hair extentions put in for the first time ever! I was nervous at first but Carmella made me feel at ease with her extensive knowledge of hair. Carmella also took her time with my hair color. After many years of improper hair coloring, I was left with damaged hair. Many hair colors were tried before Carmella choose the perfect tint. I highly recommend Carmella the Great to anyone.
