Overall BAD 2/23/2011

Stopped in on a Sunday Night. A party of 4 with 3 bad dinners. My wifes Chicken was under cooked and red on the inside. 2 of use had Ribs that were luke warm and tuff.\r When asked to see someone about this a teenager came out to us. He did offer my wife a steak, which they charged us for the up price. They warmed up the Ribs and thay came back black and crispy. When the server was asked about the service and food she snapped at us.\r NEVER AGAIN !!! more

Hope you can be a stop on the AARP tour! 5/24/2009

I want to be fair. Naomie, the waitress did try hard. But this place bills itself as ""the famous Steakout"". Unfortunately for them, this does create an expectation....that orders would not disappear, that staff would be aware when they were sold out of items, that waterglasses would be filled, that wine would not take 30 minutes to be served, that the steaks are better than average and that a manager, if in the restaurant, keeps all this from happening. This place needs to hope they can be on the bus route for the seniors because those of us who expect more will choose some other place. I heard that the owners dont care anymore and that the management is not capable. My visit confirmed both to be true. Please get your act together! Pros: Waitress really tried to please our group Cons: Food and service more

Left me wanting to go to McDonalds 9/14/2008

We went there for a nice family outing-What we expereinces was horrible service, food cooked wrong, the owner appeared drunk and beligerant, and ended up being one of the low points of our visit to Sonoita. We had gone there in the past, but will never visit again, for my children to see what appeared to be a drunken old man, who couldn't even walk straight wasn't what we had in mind for a nice family dinner. I would strongley recommend McDonalds over a place that want's to charge an arm and a leg, for less than honorable behavior by the owner no less. And waitresses that may not have got the order right, or a cook who can't take the time to read or can't cook. Pros: Nice Town Cons: Horrible ""restaurant"", service, and owner! more

A Little Piece of the Old West Close to Town 2/28/2006

While out on a Sunday drive through Santa Cruz County, we stumbled upon one of the best kept secrets of Southern Arizona. The Steak Out is at the crossroads of downtown Sonoita, just an hour drive from Tucson. I have traveled the world sampling steaks and I must admit that the mesquite broiled T-Bone I had at the Steak Out was one of the best I've ever had. The service was friendly and effecient and the live country music was an added bonus to an already authentic, western ambience. I can't wait to make the trip back down for another enjoyable evening. Pros: Excellent Food, Live Music, Western Ambience Cons: Noisy more

The Steak Out, Sonoita, AZ 7/1/2003

I am from Kansas City, Mo, the beef capital of the world. As much as I love Jess and Jims, Golden Ox Black Angus, etc., the best steak I have ever put in my mouth is from The Steak Out in Sonoita, AZ. I have eaten there numerous times and the quality is consistently the very best. Great atmosphere, great music, great food, great people! What else do you need? Pros: Great food, Great atmosphere, Great people more
