Heavy meals with lots of carbs. Bread and pasta lovers will be in heaven. Institutional chicken breasts cheesed up and heavily sauced should appeal to the trucker in you. Kinda re...

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/17/2012

My family and I went out for dinner and we decided to try this place out, we were not disappointed because when we went in the place looks beautiful and smells wonderful. more

Great Food 5/20/2012

Great food, great prices. more

I like most things, but this was blah! 4/16/2011

Tried to ignore the other reviews and give it a try. Wish I had taken other reviews into consideration. Ordered spaghetti and meatballs as I figured it would be hard to mess that up! Wrong ... my meal, and my friend's meal was bland, no seasoning, we kept trying to put salt and pepper on it, but it never got to a place where it was good. The restaurant was almost empty and the waiter was still slow, unfocused, and not very attentive. Now I know ... not a restaurant to visit in the future. more

what prison food must taste like 4/10/2010

Seriously.... I question people's taste buds. I suppose if you aslo think Cadillac Bar is great food - you would enjoy this place. Maybe these people who think this place is good- think Fast Food is like real food. Pros: quick with refills, to wash down bad tasting food Cons: i felt like a con eating it more

My favorite place in Houston!!! 4/6/2010

Someone took me to SW when I first moved here and I haven't found a better Italian place yet. Great food, great services, fast on to-go orders and nice selection at the bar. If you blink - you'll miss it driving down Shepherd so keep an eye out for the green awning. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Pros: Great price for huge servings!!! Cons: Parking isn't always the easiest. more

Excellent for the price 5/19/2009

Food was excellent, service was great. I definatley recommend the Italian Nachos. more

'salright 3/14/2009

I've been to the Spaghetti Western a few times, but I'm not too terribly impressed. It's alright, I suppose. I do really like their Italian Nachos, but so far that's the only thing I've been super crazy about. Oh, the breadsticks are awesome, too. My best friend had the stuffed shells the other day and it was 3 shells with cheese stuffing only and some sauce and that was it...no salad or anything. I've had the southwestern lasagna (it's called something like that) and it's alright. Lots of chicken chunks in it and the salsa it's topped with is tasty. I wasn't impressed with the presentation. My piece of lasagna was completely falling apart and was pretty much a slop of ingredients covered with salsa. I also didn't feel very lasagna-ee about it. If I wanted a whole bunch of sour creamy chicken enchilada filling one day, that's exactly what I'd order, though. They do have a pretty solidly stocked juke box, though...I feel like I'm still listening to Classic Vinyl on my XM when I flip through the pages. I'll probably be back and try a few other things, but it's not amazing or anything. Pros: Bread is delicious, jukebox Cons: Service can be slow, food's alright more

Nice decor, food so so 3/4/2009

Ate there last night 3/3/09 and overall the food was slightly less than average. The breadsticks were way underbaked and soft, I like my breadsticks chewy, firm and a little crunchy. My veggie pasta was okay but chef forgot to add much seasoning. Being vegetarian I like my veggies tasty, not simply steamed. My friend had the salmon & angel hair pasta. The salmon was good but chef again forgot to add salt or other seasoning to the pasta. We ordered spinach on the side and it was very tasty so we knew the chef had access to salt and lemon and other spices. We took leftovers home and plan to doctor them up for another meal. The decor was nice but the floor looked dirty. I wouldn't want my children crawling on it. And the little waitstaff guy busily swept the floor while we were trying to eat, gross. Better to do that after closing. We may try the pizza next time to see if it warrants a third visit. Pros: Fast service Cons: Not enough seasoning in food more

love their fried raviolis! 12/12/2008

great service. lots of food for the price! highly recommended if you are starving and on a budget! more

I did not like this and will not go back. 12/9/2008

The only reasons I did not give this place 1 or 2 stars is because my brother liked his food and the other posters that say the service is good are right. I got the ""Pasta Man's Specialty"" which is listed under their Specialties. It has a crab cake, a grilled chicken breast and crawfish tails in a gralic sauce over orzo. I thought that sounded good. Save for the chicken breast, it wasn't. I'd like to know why they felt they could call it a crab cake at all being that as far as I could see, there wasn't a stitch of crab in it. The orzo was way over cooked. It was essentially mush, which ruined that particular portion of the dish. more

Quirky fusion in ambience and food 11/20/2008

I enjoy dining at Spaghetti Western. I highly recommend the specials for the day when making your dinner selection. The food is creative and blends Mexican and Italian flavors admirably. The combinations are downright unconventional, but sure do satisfy. You have to try the Italian nachos at least once, but bring friends to share the bounty because it's a heaping platter. more

Good Food, Horrible Service 6/20/2008

Good portions and great taste. Sat down at the bar for lunch with a group and had the worst service from the bartender throughout the entire meal. She rolled her eyes when we asked for bread before the meal and had a negative demeanor the whole time. Pros: Food Cons: Service more

Nice Atmosphere 6/5/2008

I've eaten here with friends a couple of times. The food is good but the service is shaky--we've had good service and bad service. The portions are huge, I will generally share of take home leftovers. Pros: adequate parking, cool atmosphere Cons: service isn't consistent more

Awesome Food - Superb Value - great neighborhood vibe 6/3/2008

We're regulars and every time we eat at Spaghetti Western everyone loves it! The food is consistently delicious (I love Shrimp Scampi w/Artichokes and tomatoes) and the shrimp are GIANT fat and juicy. How do they provide such good grub so cheap? The house salads are made with all green, yes i said all GREEN healthy lettuce and an addictive vinegrette dressing and feta cheese. We went again this past Saturday night about 8pm and the place was full but there always happens to be a table waiting for us! My date had the raviolli but I kept tasting bites because their tomato sauce is simply da Bomb. The wait staff is mature but in a hip way and always friendly and super efficient. Keep it up Spaghetti Western! Pros: The Food is GREAT and Cheap more

Not up to the Hype 4/19/2008

Found the reviews misleading. Service and vibe was good - food was not. People must be coming here for some other reason but it sure isn't for the culinary qualities. Pros: Service, cost Cons: Food more

The Theme was really cool. 1/30/2008

My girlfriend and I went on a Tuesday. It was very ez going. Good Food, Good Price you can eat here for a fist full of dollars, Nice Wait staff. Order the House wine (Merlot). The menu had plenty almost too much to select from. I would recommend this for dinner. Sure there are carbs but carbs get a bad wrap. I do wish they had some whole wheat selections. Pros: Great place - relax and enjoy Cons: No wow effect but maybe that does not matter more

A Winner! 1/25/2008

Love the seafood lasanga. Service was great, and the prices weren't bad. I would def. go again. Pros: Good variety, tatsy choices Cons: A little too 'rustic' if you know what I mean more

Geriatric Service 1/22/2008

If you want to really feel like you are in old western cafe this is the place. Not just the decor- but most of the customers there were about 60+ drinking it up at the bar. Service was terrible, and very very slow. I went during my lunch break and there was 1 waitress for the entire restaurant. Food was decent, nothing to rave about. Will not go back. more

Delicious, inexpensive and excellent service 11/5/2007

We love Spaghetti Western! Our 8-year-old gets her own personal little pizza and my fave is the Chicken pasta with artichokes! There is something on the menu for everyone and it's a great restaurant for kids. Service is prompt and friendly and the bread is to die for! Pros: Great Value, Delicious Food more

Really yummy food! Great service! 8/1/2007

we are visiting from Portland, Oregon, so every dinner is a risk! We did our research and needed a low-key, kid friendly place (we have a 1-year-old, and an 81-year-old in our party!). We all enjoyed everything! Food - yummy. This isn't fru-fru Italian. This is kind of Americanized, fattening, yummy comfort food. We all raved. My husband forgot his phone there, so we may HAVE to go back once more before heading back home! Pros: Yummy food and great service Cons: Location was a bit iffy more
