Stay away!! While the bar staff is excellent, the owner is a piece of work. It's definitely a regulars bar and they aren't particularly fond of newbies- and if you're a cop, or in law enforcement of any kind, you're definitely not welcome. The owner will do any and everything in his power to make sure the cops aren't anywhere near the bar- I wonder why... perhaps because of the sketchy antics that occur there? Though it's calmed down over recent months, fights are still fairly common. The owner isn't below slandering, bullying and banning the victims of sexual assault while allowing the assailants to continue patronizing the bar either. As for the food... perhaps a few more gluten free items on the menu wouldn't go a miss. The wings are pretty amazing though. If you feel you must check it out though, only go on a Friday night when David Howell is hosting karaoke- although, you could find him at DeMarco's in Bedford on a Saturday night (with a better crowd) or O'Malleys on a Thursday night too. \r \r Honestly, I really think it speaks volumes when not only the bar manager who was a very loyal employee to the company but two other female bartenders who were absolutely brilliant and worked there for quite some time have quit in the past 6 months. If the staff don't want to work there, why would you want to spend your money there? more

One of my favorite bars in North Raleigh. Great place to get the local feel. Awesome food and very friendly staff. The menu is huge with a little of everything and it all taste great. Best Ribeye sandwich I've ever had. Plenty of tvs to watch sports and great entertainment on the weekends plus an outdoor patio that is dog friendly. Not sure about the bad reviews below but I know this place has made great efforts over the past few years to enhance the customers experience. I highly recommend. more

Went to Picked today, the new menu is fantastic. I had the blackened tuna sammich... AWESOME!!!\r \r The buffalo shrimp were perfectly cooked and the sauce was spiced just right.\r Our server was Andrea and she was GREAT! more

The guy who bartends on Sundays is RUDE! He is nice to the regulars that he seems to stay an drink with after his shift, but other than that he not very concerned with making anyone else happy. The tall girl that usually works with him is great! Ask for her! more

Wow, I just got back from this place and the waitress yelled at me! No kidding! She's short, dark, thin, long hair... I went inside (from the courtyard) to use the bathroom, and no one was inside. A waiter said I could cut thru the bar area, and so I did. After, I went back the same way, and she yelled at me! Trying not to make a scene, I ignored her, and she yelled two more times at me! Couldn't believe it. Had she told me kindly, I would have told her the waiter said I could cut thru, and I would have apologized for cutting through. Then, during the meal, she totally ignored me at my table and turned on a super artificial nice act to my friend. Food was okay, took long. For the first time in many many years, I left less than a 20% tip. Gotta' say, tho, that the courtyard is charming. more

I work at a local auto garage & I just wanted to say how much the staff & I loved those world famous hot wings. The wings are on point every single time we order! Thanks for having good food. The burgers are good as well. more

They need to update the ratings on here, I'd give it -5 stars. I had been trying to go here for quite some time. I wish I had gone somewhere else. I walked in, and initial thought was DUMP! I ordered a BLT. Simple enough right? Well that was a mistake. It came out and I have seen more bacon on a Whopper! 1 slice on each half!? The fried green tomatoes are clearly frozen from Sysco. I asked the waitress "" where the bacon was?"" She brought me 2 slices of hard, burnt, inedible bacon. I ate the fries and not the sandwich. She didn't comp the meal, or ask me why I never ate the rest of it? The bartender looked like she was on something and spent more time sitting at the bar with a customer than anything else. The waitress was nice, untl she called my 10 month ""cranky"". Terrible food, never go back. I agree with the other review...Pied Piper Blows this place away. No wonder there were 4 people there on a Saturday night. My advice, go to Burger King over this dump. If they can't make a simple BLT how bad is the rest of the food? Plus, you'll get more bacon on a Whopper at Burger King!!! more

The 1 star reviews are correct. The manager looks shady at best. The food was not fit to eat, at least my burger wasn't. Do yourself a favor and go around the corner to Pipers. That's a decent pub, not this place. Won't be open much longer from what I can tell. more

Made a reservation in advance to watch a college game on the main TV with sound. Spoke to the manager, Andrea, and she said I was the first to call, so the main TV was ours for a group of 15 or so. I arrived early, and she said everything was fine. There were 5 other people there who wanted to see another game, but since I reserved the main TV first, my group was promised the main TV. Five minutes before kickoff and Andrea states ""I am going back on my word. I am showing the other game for the other 5 people."" ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT. We all got up and left, and went somewhere else (Falls River Pub) and had a great time. These kind of decisions put a place out of business as word will get around about crappy management and employee's like Andrea. The funny thing is that I was considering using this place for monthly Wed night meetings for a group of 30 or more. NOT ANY MORE ANDREA!!!! more

Went to The Pickled Onion for the first time this weekend with some freinds. We had a going away party for one of my girlfriends. The owner and staff treated us all like VIP's. This was a last minute get together and it was great. The band that played sounded great. Played music we all knew and loved. We all had so much fun. My husband and I are going again this Saturday with more friends. You should too. Don't miss this place!! more

Met with some friends there after closing the voting polls. Live music was WAY too loud - we sat on the other side of the room and still could not have a coversation without shouting. more

I had heard mixed reviews from my friends so we got a coupon we went for dinner during the week and really enjoyed the food, the soups are from scratch and you can tell the food has that special made from scratch feel. more
