My name is Shanta. I am of Indian/Turkish decent. I have very dark, thick hair. It is long but very straight and a bit oily. I went in for a cut, color, and an updo(i hope that is what it is called :). Hannah was actually ready for me right when i got there. I was about 10 minutes early. Everywhere I have gone before makes me wait until after my start time. Hannah was very punctual and kind. I was thinking of going with a lighter color, but when she told me that her personal recommendation was to stay with the natural darkness of my hair and just add in some highlights to appear lighter, I figured, "why not. Let's try it!" OMG!!!!! That was amazing. I have never had highlights, and when I saw my hair after she was done, I had no words to describe how thrilled and excited I was, and still am!!! I am a new client of the salon, having been recommended by my daughter who has used the salon. Micayla did a beautiful job with my long, very thick and wavy hair,cutting and styling it and teaching me how to deal with it myself at home. She took the time to instruct me and gave me lots of recommendations. I left with a beautiful new, updated look and I'm very happy with the service that I received! I'll be back in the future! They are the nicest people there. Jamie is my stylist and i am never disappointed! She takes her time to make sure your haircut is perfect. I get highlights and i am sooo happy with my results. I have had Hannah cutting and coloring my hair for the past 7 years. I have the kind of hair that most people don't know what to do with. It literally grows "outward" rather than "downward"! Therefore, I would go to fancy high priced, big name salons looking for educated "experts" hoping for the BEST and paying a lot of money to get the WORST. Then came Hannah, who was referred to me by a very good friend. Hannah knew exactly what to do with my curly, thick, unruly hair and not only did she know how to cut it correctly, but how to cut it so I could style it the way she did. That never happens!! I have spent a lot of time and money getting great haircuts that I couldn't style on my own. Not until Hannah! She listened when I said I don't have a lot of time to mess with getting ready each day so I needed something that I could easily make presentable without a lot of fuss. And Hannah took me seriously when I said, I am not a naturally gifted "I know how to make hair look good" girly girl! Hannah knows what products work best for me and my hair and has never let me down! I hadn't colored my hair since my early twenties and decided I would get a little sassy and go blonde. I went to Hannah and told her of my midlife revelation and desire for "sauciness", and thank goodness, she said "Honey, the eighties are over so there will be no spiral perm and I will not dye your entire head platinum." (Smile) Then she proceeded to highlight my hair perfectly. Taking the natural blondes, reds, light browns, dark browns already in my hair and throwing in the right amount of blonde hightlights, and voil?!! I looked and felt "saucy", just as my revelation/fantasy said I would! I have recommended Hannah to many people who have "problem" hair like myself. Plus, not all of us ladies have the skill to pull off a killer "do" on our own. I am not coordinated enough to curl, straighten, even blowdry my hair correctly and Hannah has always allowed me to remain inept, and I really love her for that! :) So, if you are "hairstyle challenged" like myself, or you have "problem hair", I highly recommend going to see Hannah because she the queen of dealing with people just like us! Hannah has taken care of my hair for over 12 years. Having extremely thin hair, she has always managed to provide a fabulous cut and color to accent my deficit. I am constantly being asked who does my hair. Her confidence and expertice is reflected in the way I am able to continue to style my hair days later. A year and a half ago, I had "blorange" hair from a previous stylist, who told me it couldn't be fixed without destroying my hair! I had no time left, could NOT show up to a wedding rehearsal looking the way I did, so my friend told me to try Hannah at Littleton Academy. I did exactly that, since I only had about 4 hours left to make the wedding rehearsal on time. Oh my goodness! Hannah was my savior and corrected my color AND style in less than half the time it takes other stylists! She was absolutely amazing to watch! So fast and so exact, even with students peering over her shoulder, she didn't flinch! She actually was explaining everything to them as she was fixing my dilema! Well, since then, I found that Littleton Academy closed and I thought I lost my newly found stylist. After a month or so, one of Hannah's former students said that she was working with Luke. Well, that may not sound like much on the surface, but did you know that not only did Luke and Hannah go to school together, but it turns out that they had the same instructor? I would love to meet that instructor and thank him/her for such wonderful people like Hannah and Luke! Where Luke went on to become a great stylist, Hannah became one of the most well recognized names in color specialties and a full cosmetology instructor for like 10 or 12 years! If you want something that "can't be done" ask Hannah first! She IS the ONLY color specialist in the Denver area, as far as I am concerned! I will always go to Hannah from now on! You rock girl! Hannah is just amazing! Her knowledge of hair absolutely astounds me. I ended up coming to her on a referral from a friend to fix a complete mess. A friend's two year old daughter had cut the front of my hair when I spent the night, and it was a disaster of epic proportions! Hannah was able to not only fix that mess, but was also able to do a color correction on the horrible color job I had done at my previous salon. The results were nothing short of amazing! Micayla cut, colored and styled my daughters hair for her wedding . . she loved it, I loved it, everyone thought she was beautiful on her special day. I made an appointment . . . with Micayla of course . . . and even though my hair is very different from my daughters hair, I came away with a beautiful cut. Micayla listened and made suggestions without being pushy. Everyone in the salon seemed very friendly, I was very comfortable there. Micayla is the best and I will definitely be going back!! I went to Micayla at Lighthouse for the first time on the recommendation of my daughter. I needed a new cut and she delivered! She also showed me how to style it properly myself. I am a regular customer now, and I find everyone in the salon to be very friendly making the atmosphere comfortable and I look forward to my next cut!! Luke has been doing my cut/color for since before he joined & owned this salon, I won't go to anyone else. He keeps his knowledge of the industry current. When asked about the color/cut I want, all I say is "let's do something different, or drastic" or "let's keep it tame" Luke does the rest and I always end up with a cut/color that suits my face and style. The rest of the staff are very friendly & knowledgable. The salon in comfortable, not fancy - but doesn't have to be. I had a great experience at The Lighthouse Salon. I had never been there before and got a pretty drastic cut and color. I brought a picture of what I wanted and left with a hair cut and color that looked even better than the picture I brought in! I saw Cindy and she did an amazing job on the blonde highlights and the style I was going after. I would highly recommend checking this salon out.
