Best

Super fast delivery service. Food is great. Will be definitely ordering again

Worst

Twice I had a very bad reaction after eating their raw tuna. But my husband and I still gave them another try... but very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this place as I think...

Amazing sushi, fast service 12/6/2010

Sushi here is very fresh and delicious. There's also a really nice crowd here in the evenings. Came here once on a Friday evening and they had a 2 for 1 happy hour special with drinks for really cheap! This is a fun place, good for groups of people, and the service is very quick and friendly more

Fast delivery, fresh and tasty 9/29/2010

Perfect seamless web delivery! Whenever I eat inside, the food is very fresh, prices are great, and the waiting staff is really nice here. All the salads are also really good. Definitely one of the better asian restaurants in this area and the prices are actually reasonably. Try the crab rolls and dragon rolls, the really make them the right way here. more

Delighted! 9/14/2010

I was very happy with the food here. The prices were reasonable, it wasn't too crowded, and the service was perfect. Excellent salads and duck, and all the special rolls I've tried thus far really hit the spot. Really a great restaurant more

Best asian in the neighborhood 8/16/2010

I've been having lunch and dinner in this area for a while and have tried most of the restaurants--all the decent and good ones. This place definitely takes the spot as the best Asian in the area, especially for the price. more

Wonderful food and service 8/3/2010

Had a great time at this restaurant. Food came quickly, the service was very friendly, and they gave some good suggestions even though they were busy and it was lunch hour. Great bento box and all the rolls too! Fried ice cream--amazing. The sashimi, which I tried once, was also excellent, and they have a pretty large variety to choose from. more

Fresh and Delicious 7/26/2010

We had lunch at Tenda and it was a wonderful experience. For just $12, they have an excellent lunch special that allows you to choose any two special rolls, and it also comes with a soup or salad. I had the Manhattan Roll and the Spider Roll, both of which were excellent, fresh, and tasty. The portions were also really big, so instead of paying $25 for two special rolls, you pay half that amount for two special rolls plus a salad. This is definitely one of the better deals in this neighborhood, and you can’t go wrong with the price. I haven’t tried their thai food yet, but it looks great and I’m looking forward to trying it at some point. The service was spectacular— very friendly and quick. We got our dishes right away and easily made it back to the office before lunch ended. They have great desserts as well—definitely worth trying. Pros: Great service, fresh, good price more

Experience Counts 3/19/2009

It's clear that Tenda is better at some cuisines than others, in this order: Malaysian (very good); Thai (OK); Vietnamese (subpar). Some dishes are excellent and some unpalatable,e.g., stay away from the asparagus unless you to eat the ends. more

Not fresh seafood... 2/17/2009

Twice I had a very bad reaction after eating their raw tuna. But my husband and I still gave them another try... but very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this place as I think their seafood is not always fresh. There are a lot better Japanese and Asian restaurants in Brooklyn Heights and Cobble hill. Pros: Not fresh food Cons: Decor more

Charge for extra Ginger?! 2/17/2009

The food at this restaurant is generally o.k., but the wait staff are constantly changing and seem unreliable. To add insult to tardiness, when last there, we actually got into an argument with the manager when he added a $1 charge to our bill because we had asked for some extra ginger to go with our sushi. I might add that the original serving of ginger had been unusually stingy. But since when does an asian restaurant charge extra for ginger? That's like charging extra for ketchup in a diner. Sorry to say, that despite the poor dining options in Brooklyn Heights, I won't be returning here. If only managers of restaurants realized how little it takes to keep customer loyalty, and how little it takes to lose it. Pros: Food is fairly good. Back patio is airy and pleasant. Cons: Staff are unreliable and management policy is ungenerous. more

great food! 7/7/2008

I order from Tenda all the time. They also deliver. My favorite is the Thai style noodles. I havent been in the restaurant nut I love the food and the rolls are excellent, fresh, and filling. Pros: delivery! Cons: a little pricey for lunch more

Best neighborhood sushi, even if its not your neighborhood 3/14/2008

I used to live in the neighborhood and waited for months for this place to open, and even after moving away come back here a few times a month. This place is the best neighborhood sushi you will find. Go here for sushi, because while the ""Asian"" of the ""Asian Bistro"" is ok, you are here for the fish. Its always fresh and glistening, with very skillful and generous cuts. Rolls are inventive and delicious, and I'd suggest the Montague or Spicy Girl.\r \r The place is unpretentious and very hospitable, the lights and music low and sweet and the waiters attentive and plentiful. You rarely have to wait for more green tea or very long for food. This isn't Yasuda (you'll be able to tell by the portions and prices), but usually when I go to one of those places I have to come here the next day to get that ""full, satisfied sushi feeling"" that those lack. \r \r The sushi entres usually give you a very nice selection, no room wasted on omelets or shrimp, and if you come here often the chef/owner scores you toro sashimi. \r \r Its rarely very full as it's a popular takeout place (delivery is prompt and presentation is not sacrificed, btw). Wonderful garden in the back in the warmer months, too. Pros: FRESH, reliable, great service, great low key date place Cons: could have more exotic fish more

ok food, unwelcoming service 9/15/2007

I have been twice now to Tenda and both times have been akward dining experiences. The food is not bad, but I found the service to be rude and incredibly slow. The first time I went I asked for no fish eggs on the sushi and the waiter acted as if that was the hardest thing in the world to do. The food took forever to come- it felt like one of those seinfeld episodes where everyone who arrived after you got served first. I decided to give Tenda another shot, and frankly, I was not impressed. The food was average and the service awful. Pros: good sushi Cons: service more

Good Food 8/9/2007

When I went there the food was really good. the service was ok,they forgot drinks, they got them mixed up,but other than that it was really nice. i would love to go there on a date. i went with family. you should go and try it out. its really good though. Pros: good food Cons: some drinks never got passed out more

We will never go again 7/5/2007

You know any ""Pan Asian"" restaurant has a jack of all cuisine chef (but expert of none) in the kitchen. Yes people don't know about the food will comment on the ""nice atmosphere"", which is pretty standard like a new construction. My beef udon was nothing but clear broth, lots of broccoli and 3 thin slices of beef. There was nothing beefy about it at all. It was more like vegetable udon but came with a beef udon price tag. At $10 a pop their margin must be huge given the meager ingredients. The food came very late. They took back the bill to throw on a gratuity charge for our party. There's no problem with gratuity charges when the customer is satisfied with the experience. But we were not happy with it at all. The place was a Montague St tourist trap, just like the Heights cafe. Will never go again. more

Good little new Asian Bistro in Brooklyn Heights 6/25/2007

Very nice little Asian Bistro with a lovely Garden in the back. Make sure you go through the rather dark restaurant and check out the backyeard.\r Service is very friendly (much better than Lantern down the street) and food is rather good. I would certainly recommend this place. Pros: Lovely garden, good service, good food more

Pretty Good! 2/3/2007

Foods are pretty good and fresh. very cozy, but has quite comfortable atmosphere. \r I recommend this place. more
