First experience: good, not great. 9/14/2011

I've never visited Taylor Stevens before, this was my first time; however I am very familiar with Aveda salons in general. My overall experience was good, not great. The staff was cordial but not overly friendly or welcoming. My stylist did a good job with my hair, and I will consider going back. more

Why do they always do this 9/14/2011

I have been going to Taylor Stevens for many years mainly becuase I love the girls that work there and the great work that they do. What I cannot understand is why the management or front desk constantly overbook these girls. They place the appointments too close together and I even saw a poor girl trying to color one customer while processing another. Every hair type is different and requires a certain amount of time. It is not that the employees are taking their time or being slow, they are running around like lunatics trying to get it all done. This salon could be so much better if they didn't only worry about the bottm line, but worried about the customer that has to sit with a wet head while they wait for their stylist who is working on 3 people at the same time. more

Experience at Taylor Stevens Salon Spa 9/12/2011

My last appt. 9/9/11 started out poorly. My previous hairdresser has moved so this is my 3rd person in a relatively short period. My newly assigned hairdresser kept me waiting for 20 minutes with no apology. People at the front desk were not very attentive to this delay. Also, the entire atmosphere of a "Spa" is completely lost. The music and noise level is anything but relaxing. The hairdressers themselves in their own appearance says nothing about the salon or the services it offers. more

Not worth the $ 9/12/2011

My friend and I both had pedicures and both were disappointed. I am used to paying $24 for a quick spa pedicure. We thought we would try Taylor Stevens for a nice treat. Both of us had blood around our toes from how hard they dug with tools around our nail. I had a dark polish applied and you can see it sligtly on the skin around the nail. So I paid double the price and was not impressed. more

Taylor Stevens Salon & Spa 11/27/2010

For spa services, the atmosphere is not very relaxing. The massage rooms are in the back of the salon and you can hear alot of commotion. I've had a few massages at Talor Stevens, they were just "ok". I had a great pedicure here , I do not have the technicians name. I'd stay away from eye-brow waxing here unless you provide specific instructions (I had previously gone to two younger ladies at the salon, unfortuatley I had a bad experience so have chosen to find a different place for brow waxing) more

Truly Disappointed 10/31/2010

I've been going to Taylor Stevens for almost 3 years and I've decided to take my business elsewhere. I've overheard the salon owner herself talking down about her own employees and I am appalled. I don't feel appreciated as a client, I'm going to go somewhere else because I am confident I can get a better service and experience somewhere else for much cheaper. I always feel like they are rushing me in and out. For an "upscale salon" it sure isn't. The employees and the atmosphere itself need a lot of help. Spa Bleu is a further drive for me but I will gladly make the trip there to support Aveda. It is unfortunate that Taylor Stevens is the ony salon representing Aveda in my area. more

Awesome Aveda Spa 9/21/2010

I was shopping in the commons when I walked in this salon to buy my usual Aveda products and loved how I was treated so much I booked an appointment for a facial. It was one of the best facials I have ever had. I will definitely be going back for all my beauty care needs. more

This salon clearly lacks customer service training 2/19/2010

I just had my first and last experience at Taylor Stevens Salon and Spa. The front desk receptionist was rude and totally disinterested. Usually, when I go to a salon for the first time, I get some sort of welcome. Nothing here at all. Just a mumbled "whatsyournamehaveaseatshe'llberightup." He wasn't too busy to gossip with another customer though, so that was nice. The stylist wasn't rude, but I've never been to a salon where not one word is spoken throughout the entire service. The haircut was ok, nothing great, but not too bad, but the awkward silence made it unbearable. The front area was disgusting. There was dust and dirt all over the floor and the product shelves had a thick layer of dust as well. Definitely a salon that is trying to be upscale but just doesn't have the staff that cares enough to make it happen. Pros: Average haircut Cons: A really negative experience overall more

Great referral 10/19/2008

I was referred by my girlfriend that had been seeing the owner for a long time. It took awhile to get in because she is so booked, she was definatley worth the wait. She listen to me and then gave me some great advice. She was amazing, my color is beautiful and she was so great in helping me learn to style it myself. The cut was so great, it was so easy for me to do myself. I cant wait to recommend other people they have this great referral program oh and they gave me this great journey pack! i cant wait to use them. Take a chance and try this place you wont be disappointed. more

Won't Go Again 4/24/2008

What a disaster! Went in for cut & color and came out with black hair. The staff was reluctant to correct the problem, then I was charged extra to correct. It is still not at all what I requested or expected. They blamed the condition of my hair on the poor lighting of the salon-it would look better once I went outside or home where there was better lighting. After insisting there was a huge problem with the color of my hair, I was then told it didn't matter because it would all wash out and fade in about a week anyways. What happened to looking and feeling gorgeous when you walk out of the salon? I certainly did not feel or look anything close to gorgeous when I walked out of Taylor Stevens! I was appalled and disappointed with the response and service I received from the staff and supervisor. My hair is a complete disaster and I'm still trying to figure out how I am going to get it fixed. Not to mention that I also had to pay for this horrid experience!! more
