This company has gotten away with posting ads all over the country claiming to be "local professional teacher" when he's really just a salesman in Dallas selling the bait-and-swit...

Editorial review from Citysearch 3/12/2013

He is a talented musician and a wonderful teacher. He is familiar with so many different styles of music, and can teach you exactly what you want to learn. But most importantly, He has a great attitude. He is patient, easy-going, and always encouraging. I highly recommend him to music students of all levels. more

a player continue to impress and motivate me. 3/6/2013

I have had the privilege of taking clarinet lessons with him and have learned to make music as opposed to just playing notes. He is very patient, understanding and will challenge you to improve. He ‘s insight and knowledge as a clarinet teacher and ability as a player continue to impress and motivate me. more

My Thursday lesson has become the highlight of my week. 3/4/2013

After only 3 guitar lessons, I am positive that he is the instructor that I have been desperately searching for. Is a patient and knowledgeable instructor and capable of presenting things from a number of perspectives to make lessons eventful and entertaining. My Thursday lesson has become the highlight of my week. more

I enjoyed my initial guitar lesson with him. He was able to quickly discern where I am and what I need to understand and learn before I can progress in order to reach my personal goal. I look forward to the next few lessons. more

He is not only an amazing, kind-hearted, smart and trustworthy person but he is also one of the best musicians I have seen around. I have been in the music business for most of my life having taken many singing and guitar lessons from different people and He has to be the most patient musician I have collaborated with yet. I recommend him to anyone looking to learn to play music - young - and - old. He is extremely passionate about music and continuously never fails to inspire me. more

He's really awesome. I've learned loads of stuff. For instance, I came to him having no prior experience, not knowing how to play. Now I can look on the internet and learn music by looking at tablature or sheet music. The best thing of all was that He 's prices were great and he was very flexible in the case that I couldn't make a lesson. more

constructive and easily understood 2/13/2013

He's reliable, experienced, professional, and a great guy all around. One of William Eb's main strengths is his ability to convey a given subject matter in a way that is meaningful, constructive and easily understood. more

At 41-years-old I had always dreamed of playing guitar, but up until that time the only instrument I managed to master was “air guitar.”Justin’s patience and relaxed manner were immediately evident. Justin was able to walk me through many of my favorite classic rock songs. A year-and-a-half later I have to say I am a better guitarist than I imagined. I write some original music and my technique continues to improve. Justin is the reason why I am enjoying playing my guitar so much. I strongly encourage any budding musician – young or old – to study under Justin. more

be cautious. 1/30/2013

In my personal and professional opinion, this company is fraudulent. When applying for a position as an instructor at Taylor Robinson, I was reluctant to enter my social security number before ever having spoken to anyone. I sent an email expressing my concern and was instructed to enter 9 digits as a "place holder" and that my information could be collected later upon a phone interview. \r \r This raised some red flags in my mind, so I further inquired about the application/interview process. I was told I would not be meeting anyone in person for an interview, rather a phone interview would be conducted and I would be "really evaluated after the first lesson". \r \r I replied honestly, saying that I wouldn't be applying if there was no actual meeting where my skills as a musician and instructor would be assessed. After all, how can one ensure the quality of their teachers if they have never met them? Never heard them play in person? \r \r I write this review because it saddens me to know th more

Long time customer. 1/29/2013

I've been with Taylor Robinson Music for 2 years now so when they asked me this morning to post a review I was happy to oblige. I haven't but the best to report. My son Justin took guitar lessons with Andrew for about a year and loved it until he went to college. My daughter Heather took guitar lessons with Kellen for a while. Kellen was great but it hurt her fingers too much to keep with it. She's with Emily now for piano and voice, and has been for the past year and she couldn't be happier. She's writing her own songs and has even performed at her high school talent show. She's even started to take her keyboard to open mics around the city. \r We've spoken with Taylor a number of times over the phone. He and his company have always taken care of us well. So there you go. more

We like Todd 1/29/2013

Not much to say. Todd was on time and the kids seemed to love him. It was the first lesson so I kind of hung around to watch. He did some sight reading and a little music theory (I was a Flutist in high school) but it didn't seem to get too boring for Samantha to sit through and I think they even started learning a first song.\r I'd recommend them. more

From a Teacher 1/29/2013

My name is Lasa Robertson. I have been a music teacher the majority of my life. I have been working with Taylor Robinson for about three years. In my experience with Taylor Robinson Music, I have never been treated with anything but respect. While reading the reviews, I can honesly say that I am not the cheapest anywhere around! The statement that they 'troll through craigslist looking for the cheapest teacher around' is false. There are plenty of teachers in my area looking to fill up their schedules who would teach at half of my rates. Taylor Robinson uses me because I am good at what I do. "My reputation speaks for itself. Richard and Taylor have always gone out of their way to accomodate all of their students but have never asked me to go out of mine. Last year, one of our students was put on the call back list for America's Got Talent. Saying that Taylor needs to be a voice teacher is like saying Sam Walton needed fluency in the operation of all of the products at Walmart. Taylor more

All ROCK but we ROLLED ok. 1/29/2013

These guys ROCK! No seriously, my guy was a real rock guitarist (tattoo's and all). I guess I had it coming when I said I wanted someone that could teach me Smoke Under Water. None-the-less, he was polite and on time and I'm pretty sure, with a couple more time through for practice, I'll be able to play it! My wife will be thrilled. JK, actually I'm pretty sure if she never hears me practice the song again it will still be too much. \r Can't wait till next week. I've got to give it up to these guys. They're not you father's music lesson but they kept my attention. more

So far so good! 1/29/2013

I just had a first lesson with Ryan and was really pleased. Wasn't exactly sure what to expect at the start. Was a little unsure about paying in advance without getting a free lesson first but ended up being very pleased. He was a bit younger then I expected (around late 20's) but he seemed to know his stuff and was very patient with my son. \r Good job Taylor Robinson Music. So far so good! more

It isn't called "Great Salesmanship" It is called FRAUD 7/7/2012

I am an instructor who really does have the qualifications that Taylor Robinson claims to have and I can say that he doesn't "stretch the truth" as he claims nor can he honestly claim anything much less that he is "only guilty of great salesmanship." What he does is called FRAUD. The "positive reviews are the same ones he writes all over the country for himself. He advertises on Craigslist all over the country with the stupidest slogans and conceals his identity because his reputation as a fraud is spreading beyond just the circles of professionals who know better. more

Taylor Robinson Music is Horrible! 5/3/2012

Horrible!! These positive reviews must be fake! This company sent aggressive sales calls and emails and voicemails twice daily, the receptionist set me up with a coach that did not meet the needs I requested and I learned later that she set me up with her husband, who was undereducated for a coach and told me that women only have a head - voice and that's all they sing with(incorrect), and the lesson prices were extremely unreasonable, especially for the poor quality of the coaching I received. I found a reputable coach elsewhere that really coaches! You don't have to go through a company like this to receive excellent quality coaching at a reasonable price - don't let them fool you! more

Horrible All Around! 5/3/2012

Very aggressive sales calls, emails, texts, and voicemails at least twice daily, the receptionist set me up with a coach that did not meet the needs I requested and I learned later that she set me up with her husband, who was undereducated for a coach and told me that women only have a head - voice and that's all they sing with(incorrect), and the lesson prices were extremely unreasonable, especially for the poor quality of the coaching I received.
