We went here on a Friday night. There was loud music and dancers. The nightlife aspect is nice. The food is good. We ordered the meat platter and it was enough for both of us and more and would have worked out cheaper than us getting two separate entrees. The food is quite pricey. The churrasco steak was very good and the pork chops. The chicken and lamb chops were decent... not as good as the beef. The sangria is excellent. more

The worst place ever to go for night time party. First off we had VIP with two bottles for my boyfriends birthday. when we get there it was a hassle to get in. Finally when we get in they bring us to these tiny tables "supposedly vip" the waitress could barely even get us to the table it was so crowded. We were basically stuck in a corner of the club not even able to dance. Then she brings us to a big table in the middle of the DANCE FLOOR. The table was filthy, they could have at least taken the time to clean it. It was a regular wooden table and steel chairs. So they serve us bottles before the bottle get to our table the fireworks were out..we didnt even have time to take picture of it. I had to ask her to bring extra sparklers to be able to take pictures with the bottles. After a while the waitress was no where to be found. My boyfriend and his sister go to find her, by MISTAKE, my boyfriend bumps into someone and says sorry. He comes back to the table and talks to his sister. The guy that he bumped into slams his sister in the head with one of Opas Steel chairs. Then proceeds to hit her in the back with the chair. the security grabbed my boyfriend and his sister but didn't even worry about the guy or even bother to go catch him. Finally cops outside caught the guy trying to escape. Not only that in the process of the security guards escorting my boyfriend out, his cell phone was dropped, when we tried to go back in they wouldn't let us and told us the table we "were supposed to have all night" was no longer ours, they already cleaned the table and they can no longer let us back in. When I mean the WORST night ever...It was the worst night ever. If you want good service, I think your better off at any regular restaurant. more

Food was great but expensive. Service was not so great & we were practically the only people there. It would have been nice to hear some Greek music instead of Latin all night. more

Been to the ones in Hollywood and South Beach and this one is the biggest by far. Food is just as great but it's great if you want to have a fun night without having to drive so far East. more

Decent greek cuisine 9/4/2010

The food was pretty mediocre and quite pricey. The biggest let down is the greek salad. I am a huge fan of greek salad, but I make a better one here at home. The dolmades were okay at best. I tried a few other appetizers as well, but do not remember the names for the life of me. One of them was a puff pastry stuffed with spinach and feta.. but it had ALOT more spinach than feta, so I did not like it very much. The best thing about this restaurant is the fresh hummus and pita bread. I will give it another try one day, but not anytime soon. more

Souvlaki to die for 6/30/2010

To me, a mall is fun on it's own.. but Taverna Opa just makes it that much better. The Chicken Souvlaki Dinner is a very generous portion and we had the saganaki as a great appetizer - I will return to this restaurant. Pros: Great drink menu and service Cons: Music was a little too loud more

Great food, service and ambiance. The Dolphin Mall needed this restaurant. Belly dancers get everyone up on the tables dancing. Lots of fun, good people watching. Music can be a little loud at times. more

http://southflorida.dinemag.net/\r \r (above FAKE marketing site)\r \r below..truth\r \r J.C.\r April 2, 2010\r \r I was working thursday and you were NOT there!\r \r Well.. This is obvious a marketing blurb from someone who has NOT been in the taverna opa.. at Dolphin Mall\r \r first half of the things you listed ..are NOT on the menu in the Dolphin mall. We started with an opening menu..\r \r There is NO lasagna, no souvlaki, no greek paella (what is that anyhow??), no athenian scampi, no lemon chix..\r \r and the head chef is named Rich (hardly from Athens) and john…\r \r and these fotos look nothing like the food served there..\r \r and there is only one belly dancer… quite cute but not trained too well and she always starts the dance with 3 or 4 ..1$ bills strategically placed from her vestry..\r \r Sadly, it most likely will be a flop. The food is good, i highly recommend the Greek Salad, but that should be an easy score from a "Greek" restaurant owned by a Chinese guy (with a VERY bad sense of humour and corny jokes), greek guy, and north american "american dad" looking guy…..\r \r DO NOT go for the Family platters, very small portions, weak delivery timing..\r \r Drinks way too expensive.. 9$ martinis.. I suggest trying blue martini instead as you will save on the commute.\r \r I think your best bet would be to simply eat a Buffalo wings or the other bars in Dolphin Mall and watch the non-greek waiters dance (speaking spanish) and lonely belly dancer flopping around with her propped up $$ bills..\r \r 2 stars… (I quit) more
