The Tavern on the Summit is one of our favorite places for special occasions. I wouldn't go there to have a hamburger just like I wouldn't go to a Mexican restaurant for Chinese ...

One of my Favorite B'ham Restaurants 3/31/2006

Tavern on the Summit is a favorite of mine. It is open seven days a week, and the food is just delicious. The prices are very reasonable. They have a large selection of wines and beer, and all of their martinis are great. The menu is fairly extensive, and the booths are private. Very nice place for a fun evening out! more

The best burgers in Birmingham! 1/5/2006

This is a great restaurance located in the Summit mall on HWY 280. If you're looking for a cheap place to take the kids, this isn't it. Also if you hate eating in a dim setting, avoid this place. But if you're looking for great food in a classic setting, this is the place for you. It's a bit on the pricey side, but no more than every other restaurant at the Summit. more

Tavern on The Summit 10/17/2005

The Tavern on The Summit in Birmingham has a great traditional American menu. They offer salds, sandwiches, seafood, and steaks. You can choose to dine outside with a live pianoist or inside seated in the large booths. The staff is always friendly and the enviorment is very laid back. They are open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. more

Tavern @ Summit: a great eat, not too expensive. 8/22/2005

The Tavern on the Summit, a great restaurant with great food, dim lighting, and a good atmosphere. The menu offers an extensive wine selection, a great selection of hot plates as well as cold ones. The chicken fingers, for example, are the best chicken fingers in Birmingham, AL, maybe even in the whole state of Alabama. The cold plates, for example the club sandwich, are great as well. Both the hot and the cold plates are served quickly, and with a heaping serving of french fries, cole slaw, baked potato, or your choice of a vegetable. It is located near the center of the Summit, making access to other shops very easy. more
