I went there with 6 friends. Their eggroll/pancake is delicious but otherwise the food is not really great. They have a huge menu but its confusing and there is hardly any vegetar...

i agree that this place is always packed for a reason. its cheap, fast, and the food tastes decent. the service is kinda slow and the guy at the cashier is just nonchalantly rude!!! Pros: food, cheap price. Cons: bad service. more

tucked in the heart of bellaire amidst all the other asian restaurants, tan tan is an old favorite among many asian people. the service is quick with a little bit more than decent quality of food, not to mention that this place stays open till the wee hours of the morn, so it's perfect for post clubbing and after hours. this place, like many of the asian restaurants on bellaire, stays true to ""authentic"" asian food, so you won't find some twisted fusion combinations or ""americanized"" versions here. the ambience is like any other chinatown restaurant, so don't expect much here, but you will find a big crowd during all hours of the day. highly recommended if you want good ""authentic"" asian food and a quick bite to eat.* Pros: cheap and decent quality of food Cons: crowded, parking, ambience more

I've been to Tan Tan for lunch, dinner and for my midnight munchies. The food is always very good and consistent. The service usually is bad but I expect that from a true authentic Chinese restaurant. I do notice that the past few times that I've been, service has picked up, which I was pleasantly surprised by. But you can't go wrong with pretty much anything on the menu... and there are lots to try out on the menu. It is always crowded and noisy but the place is big and we never have to wait for a table. They also always have a couple of HPDs there so safety shouldn't be an issue. more

Feed your TAN TAN craves! 10/12/2004

Been several times....usually after the club lets out. Open late on friday and saturday. The Pan Fried Noodles with beef & chinese broccoli is a must try! But if its not your thing, choose from like 400 other items on their menu. Gotta love variety. The food is very inexpensive, the service is awesome...food is quick to arive at your table and plenty of workers walking around tending to all the tables. Place stays packed for a reason :) Its a must go! Pros: Late Nite, FAST food..very quick, Lots of Choices more

bad & dangerous 9/19/2004

First of all, the food is not that good. Once we ordered a fish and they gave us the wrong kind and the wrong size and forced us to pay double what we usually pay. Then it tasted gross. The atmosphere is simply not very attractive, not to mention it feels dangerous there. Service is good sometimes, but have been treated pretty badly there before. I won't ever return. Take my money elsewhere like Sinh Sinh down the street. more

Even I do like fast service, but in this restaurant the waiter/waitress seem to hurry the customer so much. I was just being seated and given the menu for 3-5 minutes, the waitress was pointing at dishes she suggested. I was just trying to read the over-than-400-dishes menu. It was our first visit so we had no idea what is good or what we were gonna have. For that 10 minutes she waited by our side, without giving us more time to choose. I ended up choosing whatever. At the end, they gave us bill in flash and took it ASAP! Waitress, please give us more time!! Customer, you'd better check the website first and DECIDE on the meal you are gonna have! Pros: Good money value Cons: , TOO ACTIVE SERVICE more

if you're vietnamese, and you eat late, chances are you've been here. their hot pots are popular. look around, most times there's a family crowded around one. we like eating the D1, with beef and shrimp, and spinach. incredible selection from the menu, some are okay, but stick to the lau or hu tieu/mi. service is average, sometimes not too attentive because they're packed, but there's usually a busboy who can get someone for you. good people watching too. Pros: lau D1, hu tieu/mi, hours Cons: , cash only more
