We recently returned to Taco Milagro to see if the margaritas had improved. I'm sorry to say that they haven't. Taco Milagro's margaritas used to be the best. Now they are just...

Cheap imitation of Taco Cabana. Trashy dancers who think they can dance salsa. Worst of all, they charge me an UN AUTHORIZED CHARGE. I bought water b/c WATER IS 3$$$ and they charged me as if I had ate their nasty food. This restaurant has theifs behind the Merchant CC machine. BTW, the salsa dancing is tacky & annoying. more

Decent Mexican Food 4/23/2011

I am not the biggest fan of Taco Milagro , but it does have some finer points that are worth mentioning. First, DO NOT GO ON THURSDAY NIGHTS! It is not the same place as it is any other time. Something about Thursday night turn the place in to a meat market free for all. There is no parking and wall to wall ""hit on me"" mentality. Any other time however, has pretty good tex mex, the margaritas are cold, and the outdoor seating make the place a great location to sit back and relax. The laid back atmosphere and good food makes me return. But again, NOT ON THURSDAY NIGHTS. more

Good happy hour spot 6/4/2010

It was not my first time visiting Taco Milagro, but it was my first visit meeting coworkers for drinks after work. The patio is great for sitting out and having one of there ice cold frozen margaritas. I recommend the strawberry favored one, and if your brave enough try the mixed version which is strawberry and regular margarita together. I have to warn those are a tad bit stronger than just strawberry alone. \r \r We had a fun time. The staff allowed us to open up a tab at the bar and order our food from them as we ordered drinks. I have to say although our main focus was not the food, the grilled chicken tacos paired with charro beans and rice is very tasty. \r \r Thursday nights they have live Salsa music. Nice way to take the stress off after a long day.\r Pros: Good Happy Hour Spot Cons: Parking is limited more

Live salsa band on weekends makes the tex-mex yummier 3/31/2010

Taco Milagro is one of those huge tex-mex chains that Houston has to offer, and of the chains, it is probably the best. While I try to stay away from chain restaurants as much as possible, if I ever have to go to one, Taco Milagro is usually where I end up. What really sets Taco Milagro apart from the other chains is the quality of the meats that they use. You can definitely taste flavorful beef and chicken in their dishes, which is a hard thing to find today. Their fajitas are what I've ordered every time I've gone, and while they tend to skimp on the accompaniments, they'll happily bring you out some more free of charge. They have a pretty decent Margaritas, but they tend to be on the weak side; I would just stick to the beer. The tortillas are made in house, and you taste the freshness, specially with the decadently large flour tortillas that they have. You should also go ahead and order more tortillas from the start as they are almost certainly not going to bring you enough to finish your fajitas with. Overall, I would have to say that if you don't have the time to go exploring into the small, family owned businesses, Taco Milagro is your safest bet to satisfy your Tex-Mex cravings. more

hot, smokey, meat market minus the meat 8/11/2007

Both times i've been there on thursday, parking was horrible and as soon as a spot opened up in the front, they put a cone there but I didn't even see any valet guys around. I circled around and around and even tried the sorry excuse of a parking garage and still nothing. I would have given up but I was meeting a friend and so I had to park in a couple of streets over. I really think there should be some sort of building code in place for retail businesses to have enough parking(whether paid or free) available for the amount of customers they expect. \r Once I finally found parking, it was just standing room both inside and outside. What enjoyment could people possibily get by standing a sun baked patio with steam pouring on you next to sweaty people? Inside was even more hot and crowded. It took me 5 minutes to get my drink and shoo away the guy who was hitting on my friend and i was out of there in 15 minutes. \r I've never been a fan of restaurants that turn into bars/clubs at night because almost always there is not enough parking or room inside for that and this place is no exception. They have latin music playing but I'm sure there are many better places to go for that. This place is mostly a meat market of white guys trying to pick up latin girls...and a few white girls who think they can salsa. \r \r To me, this is a sweaty parking lot with overpriced drinks. Pros: You get to park in front of river oaks homes Cons: no parking, overcrowded, AC doesn't work, meat market, did i mention over crowded? more

Skip this place... 7/20/2007

Taco Milagro has inadequate parking, to put it mildly. Patrons are forced to park in other businesses' parking lots, and Houston has a thriving tow industry. Park at your own risk: your car may or may not be there when you come out of the restaurant. Additionally, the police in that area are constantly on the lookout for people to harass and give tickets to. So while you're spending a half hour circling the block looking for a parking space, BE SURE TO SIGNAL every time you turn. One cop had the nerve to accuse me of drinking, even though I hadn't even been in the club yet. What a dork! They're like vultures in that area. A joint bringing that large of a crowd could at least provide valet parking, instead of leaving its patrons at the mercy of petty cops and tow companies. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: No parking; cops and tow truck drivers prey on patrons more

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7/20/2007

I remember this place to be full of good looking men and women! It was the ""it"" place when it first opened....NOW...its gone downhill. Im sorry to say but this place was a MESS!!! they have people sitting at the tables outside, occupying the space when there wasnt even a single cocktail nor food on the table! Its either they clientelle here are just so cheap to buy alcohol OR they have a hardtime getting thru the bar as you have to go thru a flock of guys that try to RUDELY touch and holler at you! UGH!!! it was disgusting! Its almost sick to know that this place exist in the UPPER KIRBY area! more

Mexican 12/14/2006

Food was mediocre, dishes were heavy--literally, they weigh alot and I don't ever want to have to balance those plates through a crowd of ""hotties"" again! Parking is non-existant, ""atmosphere"" is crowded and loud, are you kidding me? I don't know how this place stays open. Drinks were self serve, and lacked real personality. Cons: parking, self serve, bad drinks and dishes too heavy to carry more

Totally Awesome Place 2/11/2006

Ok, if you have never been to Taco M before, you have to go now!! The age range is 21-30s. The food is excellent. I recommend the Spicy Shrimp Tamales. The tamales are spicy, ok?...not for the timid but very delicious. The ambience is great with live music, beautiful people, etc. Also, if you like to dance, the salsa and merengue music is incredible. I went to Taco M last thursday with a group of ten people and we all had a great time. The sangrias totally rock. Not gonna lie, I had a lot of them that night! ;) Pros: Great food, Great music, Great drink Cons: Parking more

bar scene with good food and nice patio 11/11/2005

Taco Milagro is a casual restaurant where you place your order at the counter and pick it up when it's ready...kind of an up-scale fast-food place that serves alcohol. The setting is fine if you want to sit out on the patio by the fountains or inside by the bar, but is not a 'restaurant' setting (waiters, romantic setting, etc.), which is what we were expecting. They have a nice variety of salsas (about 9 types) that you can try (again, serve yourself)...we found some of them to be very vinegary. The food, however, was tasty, cheap (we paid $15 for two entrees...pork tamales and chicken enchiladas), and were prepared very quickly. Not a great date spot, but fun to go with a group for drinks and quick mexican food. Pros: nice patio, quick service, inexpensive Cons: wait on yourself, noisy sometimes more

Sprinklers in October? 10/6/2005

We went out to Taco Milagro and there last night and it was pretty chilly, like 68 degrees. We were forced to sit under the cold mist which were being propelled by fans with sprinklers attached. They should really have checked the temperature out before they turned them on. All the hotties in their skimpy outfits looked like they were freezing. Pros: Great Thursday Nights Cons: Poor quality tequila, Sprinklers more

Phenomenal for vegetarians... 11/16/2004

This is my favourite Mexican restaurant in Houston!! Fresh vegetarian mexican: chile rellanos that aren't too cheesy; sweet potato enchilados are so creative and they simply melt in your mouth; queso fresco tacos with onion and poblano rajas to which you can add those delicious fresh salsas; ranchero beans (whole pinto beans) without lard. Top that off with spicy micheladas. The food here's closer to california-style mexican than the greasy tex-mex. more

Nice place to mingle 8/30/2004

I don't know what some of these people are on... but this is a great place to mingle, eat and drink. The drinks are just as expensive as any where else but they have happy hour. If you don't want to spend a lot, get there before 7pm. The food is original, it's not tex-mex! The beef fajita nachos are big so be prepared to share. It's a good place to relax, meet people, the service is fast and it's clean. more

Great Place for a Beer 5/22/2003

This is a great place to have some drinks after work with friends. My friends and I are there just about every Thursday and the ambiance is great. Get there early if you want a table or a parking spot. Pros: Inexpensive, Inexpensive Food, Outside Sitting Cons: Crowded, Limited Parking more

I don't get it 5/1/2003

Are you kidding me? It's in a parking lot, and there is no have to stand in line to order a drink. Ugh. Pros: parking Cons: atmosphere, service more
