I've eaten at Tazu so often, I can even count the times. Everything on the menu is very good. I really like the suskiyaki on a cold day. Warms you right. The sushi is perfect for...

Toro was brown. It must be pink.

'Service was great when we were 5/29/2012

'Service was great when we were ordering lots of saki and sushi and spending many hundreds of dollars last week. But heaven forbid that two gals would have the audacity to order only 2 glasses of wine and some sushi at 5 pm on a Monday night! The chubby little waitress was entirely too miffed during our entire stay of 45 minutes, and had an attitude that was rude and surly. I have been going to Tazu since they opened, and have NEVER BEEN TREATED SO RUDELY. No manager on duty to make things right, and sadly too many fine restaurants in Cherry Creek to put up with that nasty little gal who was on duty at 5 pm on Memorial Day. Life is way too short! Goodbye Tazu - next time I am driving to the Sushi Den, or walking to a place in the neighborhood whose wait staff knows how to be helpful, kind, civil, professional, and nice! more

Great sushi and terrific service, always happy to see you. 8/4/2010

I've eaten at Tazu so often, I can even count the times. Everything on the menu is very good. I really like the suskiyaki on a cold day. Warms you right. The sushi is perfect for a light lunch during the work week. I also really like the assorted tempura. If you like sushi yuo must try Tazu. more

Japan in Denver 3/9/2010

I am a late bloomer to the sushi scene. I didn?t begin eating sushi until I married my Japanese wife and even then not until right before we took a trip to Japan. Even though I am no connoisseur I have learned to appreciate good sushi. Sushi Tazu has good sushi. Pros: great sushi, friendly service, great presentation Cons: Cherry Creek area, more

authentic good japanese food that a native japanese likes 6/23/2009

My Japanese friends took me there for dinners. Thus I take it as this place is at least authentic and good. It offers a good selection of sushi and has some delicious items that are not included in the menu (sorry the names are forgotten). The price is not cheap, but it's good quality food with good service. Pros: great food, good service Cons: parking might be hard to find at times more

not fresh 12/16/2008

Yummo! 10/1/2008

Hands down my husband and my favorite sushi restaurant in Denver. The staff is fantastic. They are helpful, friendly and sometimes really funny. The food is so fresh. I would say it leans more toward the traditional side, than fancy rolls, but they have perfected it. Consistently the best sake (fresh salmon, not drink) in town, it's like butter it's so smooth and perfectly sliced. They have a nice variety of drinks, rolls and other traditional Japanese dishes like pickles and strange omelets. Also, the pricing is very reasonable for sushi and the atmosphere comfortable and warmly lit. Pros: Very fresh ingredients and delightful staff Cons: Sometimes parking can be a bit tricky on weekends more

Fresh! Fresh! Fresh! 4/26/2008

Very authentic Japanese restaurant. The sushi is the freshest around! Service is friendly, and sometimes hard to understand, but efficient enough. Very reasonable prices for the Cherry Creek area. Pros: Freshest fish around Cons: crowded more

I eat here all the time and it's great. 2/27/2008

This is my favorite sushi place in Denver. It is reasonable and fresh. The vibe is very up-beat. I eat here at least twice a month and I have never been sick, that review is probably from some hypocondriac who probably got sick from making out with their ""friend."" Pros: fresh sushi, fun vibe more

Myself and many others have eaten here for years and have never gotten sick 2/6/2008

My children and I have been eating here for years and we have never gotten sick!! The food is always awesome and the waitstaff is great with my kids. Perhaps the guy who said he got sick should make sure that is what was from before he makes false accusations. Pros: friendly staff, great with kids Cons: parking, sometimes so crowded and have to wait more

Avoid this place! 2/4/2008

This was our first time here. A convenient place to meet for lunch. Both my friend and I got sick. I've been sick for 3 days now. It's been god awful. I guess I should have been clued in to the fact the place was pretty dead for lunch on a Friday. Pros: Not crowded for a reason - we got sick! Cons: Parking more

Fabulous! 1/22/2008

I went with a group of 10 on a Saturday night. The place was packed yet we stil recieved top notch service. The wait staff was very friendly and on top of everything. The food was amazing! Highly recommended! Pros: Wondeful Food, Great Service Cons: Small dining area. more

Best sushi in Cherry Creek 9/17/2007

Great sushi in Cherry Creek, much better than Hapa or Kona Grill. The sushi is fresh and presented well. The prices are reasonable. It has a pleaseant, down-to-earth ambience that is much less pretentious than other Cherry Creek restaurants. Pros: sushi, location, prices, ambience Cons: none that I can think of more

Great Authentic Japanese food. Parking in rear! 4/9/2007

Both sushi and just Japanese food are good here. Parking is in rear of the building. You can also park next to the library at night. Service can be rather slow at times, but it is worth the wait. :) This place remains one of my favorites and my usual spot. Pros: Good authentic food, especially katsu don. Cons: Very crowded on weekends. more

My Favorite Sushi in Town! 12/17/2006

If I could only eat one type of food the rest of my life it would be sushi! I been to alot of susshi places in Denver and Tazu is #1. I tend to sit at the bar, so I get the free cucumber salad. I love the seaweed salad, catepillar roll, fatty toro, and mackeral to list a few, and of cousre edamame. The staff is always friendly, however never seems to recognize me, even though I dined there a couple times a month for 8 years. Pros: Great Sushi, Fast Service, Friendly Staff Cons: No Parking, Could be cleanier more

Cozy sushi dining 11/16/2006

This place is is good for grps of <4, anymore and you'll have to wait for the one corner table that might seat 6. Located in the posh Cherry Creek shopping district, this is a surprisingly low-key & casual place. I thought my unagi & salmon nigiri were wonderful some of the best; the lobster tempura roll excellent! My neighbor ordered the tuna sashimi and didnt think it was as fresh as it should have been, he felt that the taste and texture indicated it might have been frozen or iced too long - admittedly his sashimi lacked the bright redness that fresh sashimi should have. He did like the lobster roll. I also tried the tofu salad which is good for two! I'd never heard of it, but it included fresh greens, seaweed salad, tofu - duh!, with a miso/soy dressing. As a salad goes it was good, but I'm not accustom to cold, raw?, soft tofu, however I could still enjoy it. The mochi ice cream seemed to be the kind you could buy 6/pak at a modern asian supermarket, so I wouldn't recommend wasting the calories and money. This is a good sushi place. As an visitor it's convenient, it's only a 5 min walk to Saks 5th Ave. and the Cherry Creek mall, where you can easily climb into a cab from the taxi queue or go shopping! Pros: Good rolls, casual, Cons: Parking, not good for big groups more

Great food ... worth the wait 10/14/2006

We're from San Francisco and LOVE sushi ... while in Denver we decided to try out this sushi restaurant. Even though we had to wait 30 minutes ... which I don't mind so much. The sushi was very good ... fresh ... loved it and had a great time. Pros: fresh sushi ... most important Cons: Bit of a wait, but worth it more

Service and Sushi? 10/3/2006

I was definitely disappointed in the service and quality of sushi presented here at this acclaimed Cherry Creek sushi place. It took forever for our waitress to come over to us initially. Finally, when we received our food, it was less than good. The fresh water unagi literally tasted like the lake it was swimming in. But to no avail it was impossible to tell our waitress that because she did not appear at all!! We had to ask someone else to clear our plates and our waitress di not even bring our check or run our credit cards. I don't think I would go back even if the meal was free!! Sorry, sushi tazu... Pros: Good patio Cons: everything else!!! more

Great Sushi - Great Service 8/21/2006

We have eaten at Sushi Tazu a NUMBER of times and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. It can get a little crowded on Fri/Sat nights, but who wants to go to a Sushi restaurant that doesn't have high turnover! We prefer Sushi Tazu over Sushi Den anytime. more

A pleasant sushi experience - I'd go again 10/23/2005

This is not the finest sushi restaurant in the world, nor in Denver, but it is good. No precut fish here. The Bonito/Katsuo was a welcome menu sight (most sushi restaurants do not carry it on a regular basis). The uni was fresh, and hamachi/shake were both well-portioned slices. I'd go back. Plus for my companion's birthday we were surprised with gratis cheesecake and green tea ice cream to a pleasant version of Hrappy Bilfday. Pros: Japanesh sushi chef, Ample slices, Location Cons: OK decor, Cherry Cr N Parking more

fish just not fresh 4/10/2005

We were very disappointed and will not go again. We like to sit at the sushi bar and ask what is really good/fresh that day. We were told is all was. When we ordered we enjoyed the sunfire sashimi and salmon but the toro (fatty tuna) was bad. It hadn't been probably kept and still had ice chunks and terrible texture. Just wish they woul have a better sense of their product and keep people informed... Pros: good menu, good parking Cons: sushi bar more
