Sushi Boat Restaurant

First of all, this is my first restaurant review. My family has frequented Sushi Boat several times for both dine-in and take out. We have decided that we will no longer be going to this restaurant mainly because their customer service is not very good. Recently, we were not even greeted at the door even though servers and even a manager passed by us several times. We were finally asked if we wanted a table (shouldn't they assume we were there to eat?) and they did have a few empty ones. Once we were seated our order was taken quickly but they delivered the bento boxes at least 4 to 5 minutes before delivering a children's plain Udon. We always must ask for wasabi for our sushi - they do not automatically supply it. They then forget to give you your check. You must either ask for it or go to the cash register. Otherwise, you'll wait a very long time just to get out of there. By the way, the food is okay - it's not fabulous or lousy and the prices are reasonable. I believe it costs around $11 or $12 for a 3 item bento box. Unfortunately, the sourpuss faces (the employees never smile and therefore look unhappy to be there) and lack of customer service do not help the just okay food. Perhaps an "Okay" restaurant if you're not familiar with sushi and not use to it tasting good. I tried several of their rolls and they all tasted the same. The salmon dinner was okay, but wasn't worth the price. The rest of the rolls and nigiri that I had were all very bland and boring. Especially the rolls served from the sushi boat; They were more chewy that they were suppose to be and it was apparent that they had been sitting out for some time. The service was very slow and not very polite. I wont be coming back to this sushi boat. With so many other sushi restaurants in the bay area I suggest you avoid this one. more

Nice looking restaurant that serves your usual bento boxes and sushi. The service wasn't bad, but it was rather timid. I thought the price of the sushi was moderate; however it was fresh. The biggest disappointment I had with the restaurant was on the specialty roll. I ordered the Soft Shell Crab Roll for $9. What I got was three rather small rolls that did not contain a whole soft shell crab. The meat in it was amazingly small (probably the size of two legs) and even worse, the thing was greasy and soggy. Pros: nice decor Cons: expensive rolls more
