Fantastic Place! 6/14/2010

I was recommended to this place by a friend in Park Slope, and I finally got there on Sunday afternoon with my cranky baby. I was going to go home because of said cranky baby but I went in hoping no one would be bothered by her wails. Well I am SO glad I did, the minute I went in I was welcomed by the sales person behind the desk with a really genuine warm smile and a hi there, how are you? I wanted to say awful but said fine, lol She then went on to ask if I needed any help finding anything, and came out and helped me find clothes, a couple of toys, and a mobile. She even held my little girl while I used the bathroom, and of course she stopped crying immediately! I will be back when I need the next size or probably before, knowing me. A great find, just wish it was in my neighborhood! Pros: Super friendly, knowledgable staff, great baby stuff Cons: not in my neighborhood more

Still Hip is a neighborhood institution! 5/19/2010

Still Hip has become such an important fixture in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill. I always check there first when I need something for my children or a gift. Why buy new when you can reuse? The store is a great destination for kids activities and they throw awesome block parties with something for everyone. And you have to check out the bag sales! If you are expecting or already have children, before you shell out the big bucks for a new item. Go there first! Pros: community spirit, cheap kid's clothing & toys Cons: could use a bigger store more

Gone down hill 5/18/2010

I want to love this store, but over the past year it has gotten dumpy. I went in last week and the place was messy and is starting to smell musty. I know that happens in second hand stores, but overall the place is a bit dirty. I wish they would concentrate on providing good second hand clothes rather than filling every corner with junk. There prices can be high too. When it opened it was clean and fresh, but maybe time has caught up with it and this is what happens to all second hand stores. It's a great idea but they need a good clean, come on now. Pros: There aren't many resale shops anymore Cons: Dirty, messy, clothes are not good quality more

Brooklyn's best children's store! 4/2/2010

Still Hip is a life saver for me. I love and appreciate brand name cloth and shoes but it's hard for me to spend $60.00 on a pair of shoes my daughter will only wear for a couple of months, if I'm lucky. So..Still Hip to the rescue! Pros: Prices, selection and an automated pony outside more

Pros: excellent deals Cons: cons? more

Still Hip gave Me Hope 8/5/2009

With one child I was able to lavished her with gifts of all sorts. But now that I am with child feared that both of my children wouldn't be equal, until I step into Still Hip. I fell in love. I am still able to purchase all of the great quality brands and save allot of money. Shout Outs to Gabby, Co- Owner of Still Hip. FAB-TAB-ULOUS Customer Service. more

A Great Store - terrific deals, fabulous local moms, wonderful classes! 8/27/2008

I love Still Hip and I am so thankful it opened! I buy clothing, toys, and books for my kids there and always check out what they have first when the kids need something new. There materinity selection is also really nice and I enjoyed that before my son was born. Cloth diapers, slings, gear and more are regularly available at much less than retail prices. Plus, they have a full selection of classes available for kids and they are very reasonably priced! Pros: Great deals, great community, great location! Cons: The store could be twice as big! more

Unpleasant employee 8/14/2008

I have been to the store a few times and like their stuff. I have had a very good experience my first visits. My last experience was very different. I came in and the woman behind the desk, Tatiyana is what someone called her, was bad tempered and was complaining about someone, not caring that we were in the store. I am posting this because a friend in a mommy group said she had a similar encounter. The whole vibe was negative so we left. more

Please come again! 6/23/2008

We appreciate the input about the customer service issue...hopefully you'll come again and will find the situation improved! We really strive to engage our customers and sincerely hope you'll give us a second chance! more

I want to like this store 5/6/2008

I went in to shop and the woman behind the counter said hello and then went back to her iphone or blackberry and talking to someone she must have known because they continued their conversation. I did buy some stuff, but the woman there wasn't friendly, wasn't helpful, she was grouchy. I don't think this was one of the owners as I've seen their great website. Hope they find better help. I'll try to come back again because it's a really super idea. Pros: Great bargains Cons: Need to find better store help more

Best customer service and cool stuff 2/23/2008

I love this store. When I was there, one of the owners Marcy was there and she was so friendly to me and every person who walked in. She went out of her way to help us. While I didn't find exactly what I wanted, a snowsuit, I did walk out with some nice stuff. I will definitely come back. Pros: Friendly people Cons: not conveniently located more

More than a store. More like a community! 2/21/2008

I took a trip to Still Hip today and it was amazing! I felt like I was in a small community bookstore, but this is just for kids and parents. I'm not sure what the previous poster is talking about, bec. I got 2 zutano rompers and a catamini dress for my 8 month old for far less than we would pay retail. And although they are used, they were in pristine condition. Along with the clothing, my daughter got to crawl around on the rug in the play area while I shopped. I was able to hang out and nurse and even talk to a few other parents about activities in the neighborhood to take my daughter to. The owner was super friendly. She recommended a few things in my daughter's size and even jumped to grab something from the pile of things on it's way to be hung up, just bec. she thought I would like it. When do you get service like that? Over all I would say this was the most perfect shopping experience I've had with my child. I know I'm going to be a regular! Pros: lots of information for new parents; helpful staff; great selection Cons: near the G train which isn't so easy to access more

Good concept, terribly disappointing execution 2/17/2008

I was really excited about the concept of this resale boutique. However, the reality was more than disappointing. Despite claiming on their website that they accept only high-end brands of baby and kid gear for resale, the items they have for sale are mostly low-end brands like Carter's or Old Navy (I saw the same Old Navy bathing suit I just bought my son for $6.50 brand new - marked at $5.00 used at StillHip). Not that there is anything wrong with those brands (we purchase them all the time), but they hardly qualify as high-end, and the resale prices are nearly as high as getting the items new. Also, a lot of the items for sale are in shabby, threadbare condition. So, if you plan on dropping off nice, nearly new items, you should be aware that there may not be items of equivalent quality and condition to purchase with your store credit. Pros: great concept Cons: poor selection, low quality, high prices for used items more

Great Clothes/Great People/Great Family Neighborhood Spot 11/29/2007

I recently found out about this store and took a bunch of my daughter's clothes there. I ended up with a good credit amount and was able to shop for some great clothes for her. The staff is cheerful and helpful, they offer classes for kids in the neighborhood and its a great place to meet other parents and kids. I will be back! Pros: Great selection, staff and place to meet parents Cons: A bit out of the way if you don't live in Clinton Hill, but worth the trip more
