Visiting the government in Richmond is a must-do for visitors and residents alike. You've got it all: beautiful grounds, the Governor's Mansion, interesting art (Washington statue inside and massive sculpture outside!), free parking, and a sense of how the government fits physically into the real life of this city. Great jumping off place for a trip up Church Hill, Shockoe Slip, Fan, etc. A terrific place to take visitors or just to relax. Pros: free parking/admissio, beautiful site, interesting Cons: traffic getting there more
