Stage Road Animal Hospital

I've only used Stage Road for boarding, but we've brought our two dogs there 3 times now. We won't be back. The first two times we picked up our dogs, they were soaked in urine. They smelled horrible. The third time I shelled out the $42 to have them bathed before we picked up. However, when I tried to call to check on them, the line was busy. It was busy for hours!! I finally gave up. Then when I went to pick them up, the lobby was packed with people, and it was 4:30. There were 2 women behind the counter, and they were stressed. They were snapping at people left and right. I said I was there to pick up, and she told me I had to sign in and wait. I explained that I didn't have an appointment, and she said it didn't matter why I was there, I had to sign in. And she wasn't very nice about it. So, I signed in. Immediately after I signed in, a woman stood up and looked at the sign in sheet. She then yelled, ""EXCUSE ME!! YOU'VE CROSSED MY NAME OUT AND I'VE BEEN HERE FOR OVER AN HOUR!!!"" The whole lobby groaned, and the women behind the counter looked defeated. They took care of her, but it made everyone else in there upset. So, I sit there for 26 minutes before I can get my dogs. During that time, I tried calling them on my cell. It was busy the whole time. Then when I was at the counter, I realized that they had the lines on hold, but there wasn't anyone on the line. They had essentially turned off their phone system. I hope no one had an emergency, cause they weren't answering. I'm not saying it's the fault of those poor women behind the counter. It's management. There needs to be at least 2 more people back there. Maybe one just for the phones. Hire a staff!! Everytime I've been there, it's been bad. This time was horrible. Never again. I hope you can fix them problem because I hate to see businesses fail, but you're going to unless the problem is solved. Pros: Convienient location for us country folk... Stage Road is the best animal hospital we've found, and we've tried three others before it. Even though it's more travel for us, we now bring our two German Shepards, our Jack Russell/Rat Terrier (JackRat) mix, and our cats here for all their medical needs. Dr. Mendoza, her colleagues and staff, are all great with animals and their owners alike! We've tried three other hospitals nearer to our home, but this is the one that we pick to care for our animals! I love this animal hospital. They have great doctors and staff. The facility is very clean. They are the only place I trust to do surgery on my babies. I would recommend this place to everyone who is looking a great, caring place to take their animals for the best care possible. more

We've been coming to this Vet Hospital for over 2 years now and have always received excellent service and the doctors & assistants really care about the animals. I would and always recommend them to everyone. Hats off to them! Thanks for always caring. more

I have been taking my cat family to Stage Rd. Animal Hospital for several years and have received consistently great care. The vets are professional, committed to providing the best care available and very caring folks. Prices are also very reasonable compared to others in the Triangle area. We have 2 min pins. They have both been treated there and one even had a hip surgery. He has recovered wonderfully and has no problems. They are great and very knowledgeable. We have also boarded our pets there as well. We know that they are being well looked after. It is busy there, so be prepared to wait in line or on the phone during busy times. It's well worth it though.\r \r p.s. the guy doctor there reminds me of the doctor on HOUSE. Not always compassionate but he knows what he is doing. And that is worth everything. They are a group of knowledgable, caring, compassionate, gentle and - yes, humorous -individuals. We. also, like a previous writer, had a beloved pet die at the hospital during an overnight stay for surgery. Though the death wasn't immediately expected, we knew he had cancer and it was just a matter of time. The vet called us late in the night and broke the news as gently as possible. From her words and her manner, we quickly realized that she too shared our grief and sense of loss. I wouldn't think of taking my pets anywhere else than Stage Road Animal Hospital. My dogs have been going to Stage Road Hospital for the past 4 years. The staff is always friendly, the vet is wonderful,and the facility is clean. If something minor comes up, they are always happy to speak over the phone. Very honest prices as well. As pet owners know, many vets charge outrageous prices for even simple services - that is not the case at Stage Road. Pros: Quality care, friendly service, clean, affordable vet. more

They are the best the employees are all so helpfull and careing and the doctors really care i highley recommend this clinic / as for the other comment anestesia is always a risk that is why you sign a liabilty form they have done surgery on all my pets and if you read the surgery form you would see can result in death listed i am sorry for your loss but i think this clinic and doctors and employees are the best i would not trust the care of my animals in any other facility the clinic is always so clean and the groomer there is the best she does all of my little fuzzy pals and she has done better than anyone ever has expecially on my little westie she has severe allergies and since ann has been grooming her she has had no problems. more

It is with regret i am informing people of this poor animal care. We have lost a nine month old sheltie and we feel the doctor could have prevented it. Our sheltie might have had a pre existing condition, but they should not have operated on her or at least warned us of a deadly outcome. The doctor never informed us that it was not advisable to do a spay operation until we had her fully checked for warning signs. This poor judgement has cost her life, and for that we will never forget. more
