Here is my problem with the last review posted and citysearch. Anyone can post a comment and I have first hand knowledge b/c I have seen it done at other salons that stylists write reviews for themselves pretending to be a client. This last post concerning Jocelyn Kirsh's stylist is so obvious that it was written by either the stylist herself or a friend. It is way too scripted. It is unfortunate that people feel the need to do that. If you were confident in your abilities and skills you would not feel the need to post comments about yourself. It makes citysearch less reliable which is not fair for people looking for an honest review of a salon, business, etc. more

I had a really terrible coloring job done on my hair; it literally was a disaster. Jimmy took out the bad color, evened out my all-over color, and now it looks AMAZING. My hair came out to be exactly the color I wanted. Great blowdry, as well. He truly saved my hair and I don't think I can trust anyone else with my hair ever again. AMAZING JOB, such a sweetheart. If you make an appointment, ask for Jimmy. He'll take care of you. more

Was just in this past week with Jennifer and I must say, best cut and color i've ever had. Not only is her work amazing, i was taken on time and out of there in under an hour and a half. I showed her a picture of Heidi Klum's hair, and Heidi Klum's hair I got! Pros: upbeat, fresh more

I have lived in Philadelphia for 11 years. I have been to almost every salon in the city and was never really happy with my hair. I went to giovanni and pileggi recently for the first time. I must say I could not find anything to complain about. The staff and salon were excellent. more

I have been all over the city looking for a new stylist and salon that can give me what I ask for. As many people know this is not an easy thing to find. I went to Giovanni and Pileggi last week for a cut and color and was more than pleased with the result. My new stylist Lauren gave me the absolute perfect cut and color. Giovanni and Pileggi will be seeing me again! more

I went to Giovanni and Pileggi last week for a cut and color and was more than pleased with the result. My new stylist Lauren gave me the absolute perfect cut and color. I had an appointment scheduled & appeared early to have my hair cut & colored. I had a formal to attend with my husband in the city. I appeared for my appointment & was approached by a woman who did not smile, nor present a pleasant greeting. She asked me who my appointment was with & couldn't find me in the book. I had called two weeks ahead to schedule this important appointment for a single process & a cut. I even walked in after work one day to reconfirm my appointment. No one acknowledged me nor offered me coffee, water, or tea. A sylist assistant approached me & directed me towards a chair that was dirty & filled with a previous client's hair. She inquired what I was there for & took the liberty to start pulling out color swatches. Meantime, my stylist was doing someone else's hair. He stopped by my chair and asked me what my appointment was for. I had a consultation with him the evening before when I stopped by the salon to confirm my appointment. I rescheduled my appointment with a different salon in Cherry Hill, NJ where my husband & I reside. I'm sure there are other salons in the city that are fabulous. This one is not on my list. I read the salon round up in Daily Candy and went with the one closest to my work- Giovanni & Pileggi. Of course, it was completely last minute, but they fit me in with Jen. She was great! She made a few suggestions about my layers which have made my hair so much easier to blowout on my own... though I can't get it to look quite as good as when she did it, but that's always the way. I'm defiinitely having her do my highlights next time now that I trust her! Oh and she does makeup too! more

This was the 3rd time, yes the 3rd stylist and 3rd salon that I had to find. I remembered reading reviews for Giovanni & Pilleggi and I kept seeing Lauren this, Lauren that so I gave it a shot. She gave me such a fantastic cut that I am heading back there again. I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to be seen and was greeted by a very friendly Lauren. She had a cutting technique that I actually have never seen before which may have contributed to such a pleasing style. The only draw back is price, $60 is a little steep for a cut but I guess average for the location. I was a little worried about how much they use assistants there though. If I am paying that much for a haircut, I expect an experienced stylist so I don't want an assistant touching my hair unless they are washing it. Also, if you are looking to buy haircare products, this place does not carry the usual bumble and bumble, matrix, etc. So I do think the products they offer are very limited and not well known.
