The atmosphere is friendly and the service is excellent, whether you are at the bar or at a table. Have tried their Chile Relleno, no meat, shitake mushrooms and deep fried in a ...

Took my grandma here for a healthy alternative. If you're going to charge $8 for roasted organic tofu appetizer, it better taste good. They took 3 triangles of tofu and just put...

What is in that Bread?!?!? 10/17/2007

This is a great place to go for lunch. Casual but clean. Great sophistacated yet comfy atmosphere. The food is consistently delicious and the service is fast and friendly. I recommend any of the salads, especially the Southwestern Chicken Salad. I get it every time. It is sooo good!!! Even if you're not a salad person you should order it. It's worth it! The best part of the whole place is the INCREDIBLE bread they serve before the meal. What is in that stuff! It's like this buttery pumpkin bread...my goodness is that stuff ever tasty and addictive! Prices are good as well. Pros: Good prices, delicious bread, good service more

Love it 10/2/2007

I don't really get all the bad reviews. There are few places in New York that I find worth revisiting, simply because there are so many amazing restaurants to go to and I want to try them all. But I've been to Spring Street Natural twice in the past month, once for brunch and once for lunch. I loved it both times. The corn crusted tofu is amazing, and the egg dishes are so good! I went with a friend who has very strict dietary limitations and they were very accommodating. Also, the prices cannot be beat in this part of town. My only complaint was that our waiter was a bit rude on my first visit, but he warmed up by the end. All in all, it's really good, and I'm going back a third time this month so I can show my boyfriend how good it is. Pros: Great tasting healthy food Cons: atmosphere is ok, and wait staff could be a little friendlier more

we were seated at a dirty table (crumbs and grease), which had been set nonetheless. The we were a menu that had butter stuck to it! We left. totally unacceptable, no matter how busy it gets! more

Best veggie burger, good delivery in Soho area 6/9/2007

I've only eaten at the restaurant once, but I get delivery frequently. The almond veggie burger is excellent and great to eat on a lazy friday movie night. I don't like that there is a minimum delivery amount, but not a huge deal. Delivery is usually quick, although I am sometimes put on hold for a few minutes. Additionally, they are not consistent with what they include in the meal - sometimes I get bread, sometimes I don't. Pros: Good delivery option in an area without many options Cons: Minimum delivery amount more

Great unique dishes, for an excellent price in an excellent location 4/25/2007

This might be one of my favorite restaurants in New York City that doesn't require a special occassion to visit. The prices are excellent - especially for the quality. I love everything I have had here so far - and basically agonize over the menu because I just know I will love it all. more

Avoid this horrible brunch place with RUDE waiter service 3/11/2007

Is this a resturant or just a place for people to ""be seen""........\r \r This place has the worst service. Waited 20 mins for a table and another 15 mins to be waited on to only have the waiter be RUDE to us. The waiter gave me the wrong drink, told me to keep it and he would take it off the bill but of course did not deduct it off the bill in the end.\r We found egg shells in the smoke salmon eggs benedict and the hollondiase sauce was missing ,which is the best part of an eggs benedict dish. The omelette we ordered was over done with no taste and the fries were burnt.\r What a disappointment , I would not reccommend this place nor ever go back to eat there again. more

Good place for a group, service friendly, but there? 10/19/2006

This was has been a Soho fixture for many years. It started as a strictly macrobiotic restaurant and has become looser over time. Now it's kinda sorta health oriented. Slightly on the expensive side, but not for Soho. At 9 the place was crowded. At 10 it was nearly empty. As for food: The pumpkin ravioli was very good, and unlike anything I've had. The others in our group were happy with the taste of the food, if not the somewhat small portions. Our servers were friendly although somewhat less than attentive. Hello? Hello? Anybody here? --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers. Pros: unique food, pretty good beer, friendly staff Cons: staff is a bit hard to find more

really great 9/16/2006

went for sunday brunch today around 12:30, no wait at all. Couldn't get seats outside, but sat by window. waiters courteous. delicious almond veggie burger, first time i've ever had one..moist, hearty, and very fresh ingredients. homemade catsup to go with excellent fries (not too greasy, crisp yet soft inside). Really good bread basket with multigrain rolls and a moist pumpkin bread. Cheap brunch, $30 for two of us. Clean, relaxed, yet soho chic. will definitely go again, i loved having a healthy yet completely satisfying meal instead of the usual rich eggs/pancakes/french toast route (though they have that too--probably excellent) Pros: healthy, great taste, unique dishes Cons: nothing really, except lack of free outdoor seating more
