I'm not entirely pleased at the moment with what he did for me, but see him as a very talented surgeon, with a lot of demand on his time. I think he needs an added staff person, a nurse with a specialty in cosmetic surgery, so there's someone who knows the range of options and the details of care and has the time to talk to you. That would help assure that communication between Dr. Spiegel, his clients and his staff is more complete. My suggestion is to insist on complete and clear communication, spend time with him or his assistants, and get opinions from others about procedure options and care. Then you are a very well informed consumer, and you and he will know just what you want. I would also like Dr. Spiegel himself to be just a little less agreeable, and be more open with clients what their choices mean. more

Total con artist, he lies to get you to book surgery with him. He messed up my nose and cheek implants . Says he will do something before surgery and does not! Been trying to speak with him to get a revision and they are avoiding me! They will be very nice and quick before surgery. after... It's impossible to get a hold of him to discuss his mistakes. They are rude over email and don't have any sympathy what's so ever.! Do not go to this surgeron ever! Lies and just wants your money! more

My experience with Dr Spiegel was perfection itself. Not only is Dr Spiegel the greatest surgeon, he is also the kindest, nicest, most lovely, sincere, honest, trustworthy person possible and also very handsome (what a pity I can’t date my doctor). When I met him my first impression was ‘wow, this guy is just so amazing’. I cannot imagine Dr Spiegel making any mistakes, he is flawless in performance. My standards are the highest imaginable, but Dr Spiegel soars way beyond any measurement of greatness. He is the most impeccable of surgeons, a true genius, absolute master of his craft. I feel sincerely blessed to have had the privilege of going under his scalpel. I can only recommend that whatever you want to do to your face, only trust Dr Spiegel to do it, and agree to everything he suggests. Patients come to him from all over the country and abroad, and he treats many celebrities. He has even done revision operations for European royalty. Even though he is the most renowned and in demand facial plastic surgeon in the world, he is a truly humble and modest man. We are so lucky to have Dr Spiegel in Boston. more

A lot of these reviews seem very scripted. Not to mention almost all of them have only reviewed this doctor and nothing else on the site. Makes me not trust this practice and in turn look for a different surgeon. more

Dr. Spiegel is the greatest. Let me start with that. I am an extremely detail oriented person and spend alot of time checking before I do anything. I have wanted a nose job for years and years but never met anyone I felt could do it right until I met Dr. Spiegel. I was right to wait and right in my assessment of him. Dr. Spiegel is an absolutely lovely lovely person who is extraordinarily skilled. He was nonjudgemental and wanted to learn about me. Some background I learned: He graduated at the top of his class everywhere. He is internationally renowned as a teacher and surgeon and scientist. He is an award winning surgeon who has been lauded by peers and patients alike. I can’t recommend him enough The office was clean, tasteful, and private. The experience - professional to the last. And, most importantly, he listened and gave me exactly what I had always dreamed of. I did my research and know that this is the best surgeon anywhere. I cannot be more pleased with my decision and it's a privilege to be able to share my experience here. I know this sounds overly effusive, but I just absolutely believe that Dr. Spiegel is the most caring physician I could have found. more

I am baffled by the number of positive reviews on the site, as my experience with Dr. Spiegel was so much different. I went to the doctor for a rhinoplasty and have been devastated with the results. I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. He was callous and uncaring and I am now faced with the prospect of finding a more professional doctor to fix what he's done. And yes he did offer a free revision, but would I even consider a free revision when he has done such a terrible job already. How can I hear more about this lawsuit? more

Four years post surgery I still can't cope with looking in the mirror and seeing the mutilation that Dr Spiegel wrought on my face. I am still thoroughly traumatized by the severe damage he did to me physically, emotionally and psychologically. more

Not only do the positive reviews here sound similar, most of the reviewers have only posted once, which is extremely suspicious. The writing also sounds the same in nearly every review, with fairly fake-sounding usernames. Every negative review has someone who's marked it "unhelpful" and one negative review on City Pages even has the doctor demanding a retraction (hint: you have to email the webmasters, not announce it publicly). So clearly the office is monitoring popular rankings websites. It's always suspicious anyway to see a flood of 5-star rankings, with a few extremely negative reviews. The authentic ones will generally hover around the middle. Normally I wouldn't say anything if this was a spa or a restaurant, but this is a doctor's office. As in, people who undergo surgery do risk dying, as with any procedure with anesthesia. Is this really what healthcare has come to? Doctors with Facebook pages like tweens and status-boosting reviews like corporations? Good grief, that’s a dismal thought. more

I went to Dr. Spiegel after reading about him in Glamour magazine. He was interviewed and recommended as one of the people you go to when you really need to see the best. He does easy things like botox and fillers, of course, but his real specialty is fixing people who have complicated problems such as bad surgical outcomes from other doctors. He was totally trustworthy. He's not a businessman at all, and you can tell. He is a professor at BU medical school and clearly loves helping people. He spent so long with me and explained everything. He even drew pictures that made everything clear. One scary part was that he spent a while telling my about all the risks of surgery, but it was clear that he wasn't hiding anything. I didn't have any problems, but it was good to know that I was dealing with a totally honest person. I have called and emailed Dr. Spiegel and he always gets right back to me. Seriously, he is the best and a true asset. I'm so glad he is here in Boston. more

Do not be fooled by Dr. Spiegel's cordial personality, it is all fake. His main goal is to get you to agree to having something done without telling you what exactly is going on. He is a master at dodging questions, not providing answers, and giving you the impression that everything is going to be okay. He will not tell you anything negative about what might happen or something that he know you will not like. If you go to him for a consultation, just watch how he handles himself... He won't tell you anything bad about what could happen and he will not answer any questions in detail, and he will rush you in and out of the office. You will leave the office thinking, wow he didn't answer any of my questions. I am an educated individual and I realize now that Dr. Spiegel is probably the best con artist on the planet. There is no doubt in my mind he is smart, so don't get me wrong here. He is a money hungry, cocky surgeon who thinks that he can out smart everyone by not telling the truth and selling false hope just to get patients money. All in all, he is just not trustworthy. I would say make sure to get all info from him before seeing him, but that will be tough to do because he is REALLY good at BS'ing. He is a CON artist who cannot be trusted; he is only after your money NOT hoping that you achieve personal satisfaction. more

Dr. Spiegel is a master of his craft and the results of my surgery have left me absolutely ecstatic! He is a sweetheart and very reliable. Truly amazing support staff as well - I would go back in a heartbeat! I despised the large area between the base of my nose and upper lip for years, feeling as though it looked too masculine. I had tried Restalyne injections twice in the last 4 years, but was ready for a permanent solution. A friend recommended Dr. Spiegel, and I went in to see him for a lip lift procedure last week. My stitches have come out, there is barely any visible scarring at all, and I feel sexy as can be! Thank you for making me feel beautiful, Dr. Spiegel! more

Dr. Spiegel was recommended by a beauty magazine in England as the top surgeon for Londoners to fly to see if they want the best in facial cosmetic surgery. I came to see him and have been incredibly impressed by the results. I look the best I ever have, and had an absolutely fantastic experience. Dr. Spiegel is loved by his patients, and other plastic surgeons find him threatening since so many of their patients go to him to have their own work corrected! Dr Spiegel did irremediable harm to me when he performed completely the wrong operation on me. I would advise everyone using him to obtain a statement in writing of precisely what he proposes to do on you in operation. I suspect half the write-ups giving Dr Spiegel 5 stars are fake because from the patients of him who I have met, few rate him highly. more

Dr. Spiegel helped me with my nose when nobody else could. I had a nose job by a doctor in Boston (on Newbury Street), and it didn't come out the way I wanted. I was eventually sent by him to someone in NH who is supposed to fix these things and it was even worse. I found Dr. Spiegel on my own. He was incredibly helpful. He took the time to listen and seemed to understand what to do. Also, he was able to help me to get what I wanted and I can breathe better too! Other doctors told me they needed to take a piece of rib out to fix me! I sent my mother to him too now and she had a facelift and loves it. I hear good things about Botox as well, but haven't tried that yet myself. Pros: personable, skilled, honest Cons: busy office - lots of people come from all over to see him more

I had a deviated septum and for a really long time i had such difficulty breathing. I live in NY but i went to Boston to get evaluated by Dr. Spiegel who was recomended to me by a friend. He thoguth surgery would be the best option and I got my nosed shaped a little too. Its been a few months and I can breathe soo much better and I'm so happy with how I look now. I would really recomend him to anyone. He is a sweetheart and very reliable. more

I have been made fun of for having a bad nose since I can remember and I begged my parents over and over again to allow me to have the procedure performed. A friend recommended Dr. Spiegel. It worked out because his office is really close to where I live. Dr. Spiegel and his associates made us feel so comfortable from the minute we walked in the door to the time we walked out. Whenever I had questions or concerns my parents or I could call and speak with him over the phone. He spent so much time with us at every hour of the day and at every step throughout the procedure. Spiegel is excellent with Botox. I stopped by during my break and I left feeling younger. This man knows his Botox. more

I was pretty messed up after getting in a car accident with a drunk driver. Soon after recovering from injuries, my doc recommended that I see Spiegel. He performed reconstructive surgery and I was my old self again. more

Not only was Spiegel friendly, but his stuff too. I needed some help on my chin due to a skiing accident and Spiegel was the guy to turn to. He talked me through what needed to be done and soon after, I felt good as new. Pros: Extremely Friendly Cons: none more
