The Best Massage Ever 11/23/2008

I've been a member of Spa One at the fifth and Campbell location for over a year. I used spa services before but Mani (Emanuel) gives the best Swedish Massage I've ever experienced. I've been to spa's all over Tucson, Michigan and California and Spa One can top them all. I've taken guests to Spa One and again, every one raves especially with the massage. Mani uses a range of motion in his massages unlike I've ever had previously. I had been experiencing arm pain, and since I've started using his services monthly that pain has gone away.\r The other services are excellent also. I've had facials, manicures and pedicures. It is a wonderful retreat for a girlfriend afternoon at the spa. The restaurant within the complex is great for a break between services. Don't be fooled by the more expensive services at the resorts. This one has them all beat. Pros: Best Swedish Massage, Atmosphere is wonderful, sells Murad Products more

Great for nails and facial, not recommended for massage 11/18/2008

Andrea, one of the nail techs at the Campbell and Skyline location, is the most detailed nail tech I've ever used. I love the way my nails look after leaving her station. However, they don't have massage chairs or do airbrush designs. But if you're looking for a nice, flawless mani/pedi that lasts longer than one from the typical ""Nail Salon"", Andrea does the best job at that particular location. I won't go anywhere else for my nails now. I've also had a couple facials there, both were good experiences. The massages I've had there were awful though. The first time I went, the therapist reeked of cigarette smoke, but fortunately gave a good massage and didn't hurt me. The second therapist I used at that location seemed very inexperienced and nervous. It was the most painful massage I've ever experienced (and I've had ~20-25). She also didn't offer aromatherapy oil (which is supposed to now be included since SpaOne raised the prices on all services). I do not recommend SpaOne for their massages, but like stated earlier, Andrea (at Campbell & Skyline) does a fantastic job for mani/pedi. more

Poor customer treatment, waiting time is unacceptable, shorter massage times than you paid for (by several minutes--closer to half an hour than 1 hour) 11/9/2008

I felt the other people were right to not recommend this spa. I went in for a spa treatment, was only massaged for 35 min instead of the full hour that I paid. I had to go pick up my girls from school but they kept me waiting for more than 30 minutes! I explained that I should not get ""short changed"" in the time that I paid for my massage (that's money hard earned) but I was cheated anyway. I was hoping to get some relaxation but came out with poor customer service by the inconsiderate manager at Campbell near Grant. They're only nice to you if they think they can get you to buy more (including membership) but brush you off otherwise. Go elsewhere. It's not worth it. Cons: all that I've stated--poor customer service and deceitful practices--not satisfied, I want my money back! more

Easily the worst company for customer service in Tucson-0 stars if possible 11/8/2008

I literally cannot say enough bad things about this company...so I will only tell the worst. My wife made appointment at the Skyline and Campbell location because they were the only one available on short notice. She reiterated with the receptionist the time and place because we live in Rita Ranch and didn't want anything to happen (this would be the second time an appointment was screwed up). She gets there and they had no record of the appointment. No apology, not even a thank you. After pleading her case the manager gave her a gift card for a free massage and was told it would be good at any location. A month later she made an appointment at 6h and Campbell and again verified the time and location and informed them about the gift card. When she went to use the gift card AFTER THE MASSAGE, AFTER BEING TOLD IT WAS VALID AT CHECK IN she was told the person who issued it no longer worked at the company and they would not honor the card and expected her to pay $65 for a substandard massage. Not only that, but the manager at the 6th and Campbell location accused her of forging the card! It was an electronic gift card! NOW THEY CALLED THE POLICE...THEY WANT TO BE PAID TWICE TIMES FOR ONE SUB STANDARD MASSAGE?!!! THE Beter Buisness Bureau and the Attorney General's office are the next stops if this is not rectified. \r \r If anyone from the company would like to contact me I would love to talk to you. Attractive women on signs around town don?t make up for the lousy way you run your company.\r \r Edit: Anyone else notice how this company gets a series of bad reviews then suddenly ""good"" reviews pop up that read like advertisements? Please dont do buisness with this company. The are the worst in Tucson...easily. Pros: none. Cons: the entire buisness is a con. more

Spa One - Poor Customer Service 11/6/2008

The most recent reviews seem very sketchy and I would not put it past the employees of Spa One to do so. They are inconsiderate and unprofessional, particularly the 2 locations I was treated poorly at--on Grant and Campbell and the other one near Sunrise/Campbell. Do not trust your credit card with these people (read the rest of the real reviews for reference) or your back. They also press you and humiliate you to compensate for what the massage therapists aren't paid by telling people who tip below a certain amount ($10 for example) by saying ""That is low. You did not tip enough"" like the rude blonde manager at Grant/Campbell. Even the corporate office said that kind of comment should not have ""come out of her mouth."" The ads were also deceiving which is why they had to change them. Please go elsewhere and you will save yourself a lot of hassle. They are now putting cards on all the cars at U of A which is very annoying and litters the area. I wish they would shut down. Cons: Poor value and customer service. more

WHAT A WONDERFUL SPA 11/3/2008

I lead a very busy life and in my line of work &I travel quite a bit, therefore I love to relax while on the road , so I book services on every chance I get to relax and revive myself. I have had many services form Flordia, Calfornia, Arizona and Chicago. And they have been wonderful some of them above average. I have been to SPA ONE many times while in Tucson and its always a WONDERFUL experience, from the moment I walk in I am greeted with a smile and a kind hello , as I sit in the lobby the lobby is quite and relaxing. I have had all of the services that SPA ONE offers and each and every time my service is just for my , it appears as if for that moment I am all that matters to the treament person ( skin, massage, nails) . I have purchased \r gift cards for some of my closest friends so they can enjoy the holidays, I would like to thank all of you at SPA ONE for the professional services and relaxing time that I have spent at SPA ONE. Thanks again to you ALL !! oh yes I forgot to mention that the Spa is always very clean\r Pros: I feel very comfortable to recomend SPA ONE to my friends Cons: A juice bar would be nice more

Best Spa value in the USA 10/17/2008

This place is impressive. The lobby is tasteful and spotless, everyone is in uniform, the staff is professional. I had a massage, a pedicure and a facial. Everything was top notch and the bill only came to $110. I have no idea how they can deliver such a great experience at such a low price. At resorts, I normally pay twice as much and the services aren't anywhere near as good as the services at Spa One.\r \r Pros: Great prices. Open until 9pm every day. High quality expereince. more

THE WORST SPA EXPERIENCE IN TUCSON/ARIZONA/USA/MEXICO 8/22/2008

WORST MASSAGE EVER!!!!! I have had over 100 spa treatments in my life time; some great, some bad but this massage tops the list! An example of YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! I had a man in his 40s attempt a massage at the Sunrise & Campbell Location. It felt like nothing over my body and then agressive massaging on my neck and upper back. When I complained at the front desk they seemed shocked-stating he has been there for a while and one of their better therapist. I was than offered some names to try when I come back- I told the manager that if she considers him to be one of their best than I do not want to try other therapist. I told the front desk that if I wanted a man to rub oil on my body & make my neck hurt for $39 I would make sure he was tall-tan and in a fire fighters uniform.\r Only positive note- I didnt have to pay -BUT I WOULD NOT GO BACK EVEN IF GIVEN ANOTHER FREE ONE AWEFUL AWEFUL AWEFUL! Pros: I can tell people not to go & hopefully they have to close business Cons: EVERYTHING- THEY ARE STILL OPEN more

the worse spa tucson has to offer 8/19/2008

This ""spa"" is the worst place i've ever gone!! They employe people straight out of beauty school and have no experience at all. The people in charge are rude and not kind at all. This ""spa"" charges WAY TOO MUCH for what they have to offer. And beware of the Spa One in the Sam Hughes plaza, not only is the service horriable but its smells worse than a dump, seriously walking in there i almost pucked... i thought spas were supposed to be relaxing and smell good?!?!?!?! this business doesnt belong in tucson,...this business is not owned by people that truly care about the service they provide. The only goal this company has is to MAKE MONEY!!!! Cons: Spa One in general more

No Follow Through with Customer Service 8/7/2008

Do not go to Spa One. Be forwarned that money is primarily their focus, not your actual well-being. Even after stating I had no interest in staying due to health issues, I was still being pushed to stay in the membership plan. Lot of pressure to join when you're just inquiring. In agreement with a reviewer here that business practices are not great. No follow-through on their word, with membership cancellation and reimbursements for fees that should not have been charged in the first place. I asked for the help of one manager over the phone to take care of the membership cancellation and send a form too so it's in writing when I could not come in person because of an ailment. Not done as per request so I was charged for the membership fee, thinking it was all clear. I asked for the help of another manager who did not follow through on reimbursing my funds and kept delaying it. I'd call the gen. manager and would be promised to receive a return phone call the next day which did not come, and no explanation. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but my colleagues and family were right; that I had to resolve it by taking action with my credit card company so they can deal with the frustration of trying to settle the disputed charge so I would not have to as I have for weeks. So, lesson learned and this company has successfully turned me off to not only their services but most spas in general. Their concern for your needs isn't genuine and I found out the hard way that they're only helpful and accomodating to you up until you decide you never want to come back because of unsatisfactory service. How would they like it if they were treated this same way and while they were in chronic pain? I'm surprised that they did not take customer satisfaction more seriously because feedback and word-of-mouth still weighs heavily, which is not looking so great here. I wholeheartedly do not recommend this place unless you like going through this rigamarole in the end. more

Great Services, Horrible Business Practices, beware! 6/27/2008

Watch out! I love and (used to use) their servies, but do NOT become a member until they revise their membership terms. To quit Spa One, you must physically go into an office, get a form, and fax or mail it to corporate.\r \r That's all fine and good, but they never told me this until I realized after I tried to quit (and received a phone and verbal confirmation as well as confirmation directly to my face) and saw I was still being billed monthly. \r So, I have *unwillingly* been a member since November, 2007. I was *willingly* a member until February of 2008.\r \r In February they happily put my balance on a gift card, but I was never actually removed as a member. I've unsucessfully tried to get a refund for all the months they billed me. Pros: Great spa services Cons: Horrible business practices and unethical behavior more

Great Service, Great Style, Great Price! 6/25/2008

I received a massage from Missy and loved it. She is so sweet and really helped my back. I had gone in there unable to move my shoulder and came out a new woman. I now go a see Missy once a month. I also have gotten my nails done by Namm and love her! She is hilarious and great at nails. I would recommend anyone to go and get services there. The pricing is amazing and the service quality is that of a resort. I purchased a membership for my mom and I. Now we have ""Mother Daughter"" days at Spa One. We love it! Pros: The amazing apperance, great prices, and high end services Cons: Nothing! more

Best nails I have ever gotten 6/25/2008

I get my pink and white nails done here. I have searched for a place that had reasonable prices and does a good job. I have been continually impressed with the service and the way my nails look. I will never go to another place in Tucson. I think they have a great business Pros: Great Spa Experience and service more

NEVER go to SPA One NEVER! 3/16/2008

I recieved a gift card to this place for Valentines day. It was a very bad experience, and I'll never go back or recomend this place. The management was very unprofesional and uninformed on procedures. When they were wiping my face, I noticed a dirty re-used towel was about to be used on me!! I looked at the tools they were going to be using on me and they were dirty! you could clearly see pus from another patient. ABSOLUTLY DISGUSTING! They only charge you a few dollars for their services because they are lacking in other areas\r \r When it comes to spa's YOU ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Do not go here Pros: i was still alive after leaving Cons: The entire buisness of Spa One more

WORST EVER!!! 1/16/2008

Don't be fooled by the nice lobby and image they present. I went to the Skyline & Campbell location and this place is awful!! I thought for the premium price, I would get premium service. Instead, I was absolutely shocked at the abysmal pedicure I received. You sit in a chair and they put your feet in a bowl filled with marbles. Huh!? Then they turn the chair into a lazy boy recliner and you sit there knees bent to your chest all scrunched up. She spent maybe 20 minutes tops on me and there was no massage, no buffing, no warm towel and all the meanwhile I had to listen to the other girls, who weren?t working, sit around gossiping and being totally unprofessional during my o{nly time to relax. So basically you pay $30 not including tip for a crappy nail trim and polish change. Oh, and they only had 15 colors to choose from and they do nails? Biggest rip-off. Save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere! Cons: No massage chairs, limited polish selection, poorly trained and unprofessional staff more

Avoid completely 1/11/2008

I have been to this place on a couple of occasions (not recently) and will never go back. I had massage therapists whose phones were on vibrate and they were massaging my back with one hand and texting with their free hand. Not ok. I also had a horrible experience with waxing, as my aestetician decide to ""try"" a new hard wax (instead of soft wax) for the first time on my body without knowing how to use it. I had several splotches of hardened wax all over my body that she left me to pick off. What is even more awkward is that it was a brazilian bikini wax. It took almost 2 hours which made for an uncomfortable, painful, and awkward situation that could have been avoided if the staff was trained appropriately. Other treatments I've had were completely sub par. If you are attracted by the lower prices, take my advice when I tell you its worth it to spend more money to go somewhere else. Ironically, I've heard great things about the other Spa One on the North side of town, so maybe its worth checking that one out. Pros: atmosphere is decent and staff is friendly Cons: everything else more

Beautiful place, not so good on the pedicures, etc. 3/13/2007

The place definately has a good ""spa"" feel to it. But, the two times I have had massages there, I was a bit dissapointed. They have 30, 60, and 90 minute massages. But each time I had paid for 60 minutes, I only got 40. They do say that they include robing time and a couple minutes to explain the massage to you. But 20 minutes? And the second time I didn't even get the ""talk"" because I had already been there. SO make sure you get what you pay for. Then I had a manicure and pedicure. Also dissapointed. All they do is put your feet in this bowl of warm water with marbles at the bottom. I guess I was used to a foot bath with the bubbles and massages and all that. Now they will use sea salt scrub or whatever it is that they use, but I was surprised that I left with a feeling that I liked the nail ""salon"" better than the ""spa"". Then - I asked the lady if she could do a design or decal or something, and she said she didn't do that. What's up with that? \r Now don't get me wrong. The place does have excellent customer service and they are all super nice. And the place is beautiful. more
