Southern Dermatology & Skin Cancer Center

I have fairly severe psoriasis. I went to Cary Dermatology and they were awful. I thought the name ""Robert Johnson"" was awesome, but he told me that he couldn't help me if I wouldn't allow myself to get my medicine to work even though I had allergic reactions. He actually said, ""If you don't want to keep taking Humira, I can't help you."" My skin went bright red, it felt like a million pins in my skin. This place is much more accepting. The doctors seem to have their stuff together much more than normal. I'm not sure if the light treatment is going to work, but this place is willing to actually try. I sat in a waiting room with a bunch of old timers and saw my doctor walking around outside talking into a voice recorder. That made me happy. It makes you believe that she takes he profession seriously. more

I have had nothing but fantastic experiences at Southern Dermatology! I have been a patient since 2007, and I definitely would recommend them as a very caring, helpful and pleasant team of physicians and staff. more

I don't understand why it take so long to get a return phone call from a nurse at this office. I shouldn't have to call and leave three or four messages to see why a prescription for my child has not been called in and then get attitude from the lady in the billing office because I pressed the wrong # just to get a human!!! Does it matter what # I pressed? Can you just transfer me and again, I get voice mail. WOW!!! Of course Shelly the so called office is never available either. Are there any competent people in this office.!!! If my son didn't love Dr C, I would transfer to another dermatologist. Not happy at all right now. more

I stood there and waited for about 3 minutes for the girl to acknowledge me and she gave me attitude because I knocked on the window to get her attention. I had a question about a balance and she said she had to go get the billing manager(which took forever). I was expecting to discuss my bill in private when this lady comes to the window with her face frowned up asking how can she help me. I wanted to know what my balance was from and she was very loud and proceeded to tell me in a matter of fact tone that my insurance paid and the balance was mine. The whole waiting room did not need to here my business. I wasn't disputing the balance, it was just an odd amount and I wanted tom make sure I owed it so I could pay it. That was such a turn off and so unprofessional. Then she says is it anything else and walks off. I work hard for my money and I cant get respect at my Drs office, they won't get my money. That check in and billing person need training in manners!!!! more

I have been coming to the dermatology center for a long time, and never have I experienced such treatment. When I call and schedule my appointments the receptionist is alway very polite and respectful. When I come in to the office the checkin girls are very nice. And the nice african american girl on the end has actually asked, could she help me when she saw me in line waiting to checkout. As we made casual conversation, I thanked her for helping me and she responded, that she tries to help, when she is not on the phone taking calls and scheduling appointments. So I don't know what that Katherine K is talking about. Management keep up the good employees from the front to the back their awesome!!!!! And I will definitely be coming back for my next appointment. more

Worst doctor I have ever been to! If I could give a zero rating, I would. She literally spent 7 minutes total on me. I felt completely rushed through my appointment. She made me feel like my questions and concerns were trivial and since no treatment was going to work for me, why bother asking and wasting her time. She also seemed put-off that I had additional questions for her. The nurse (Cara was amazing by the way) spent more time helping me with my issues because this doctor wouldn't. Since I had one more question for Dr. Boyse, the nurse suggested that the doctor come back in talk to me. When Dr. Boyse returned, she scolded me like a child, ""The front desk should set the expectations that appointments are 10 minutes long. I already answered 6 other questions for you, so you better not go to the office manager after this and say that you felt rushed through your appointment."" I was stunned. As a new patient, it's about building trust and rapport with your doctors. I tried to ask her another question and she responded, ""We already went over so much and you're going to try these new things. You're not going to even remember anything else that we talk about. That topic is another appointment in and of itself."" So now she's insulting my intelligence? I’m not capable of retaining anything else? Seriously? I am appalled that someone like this is a medical professional. If you hate people and don't care about helping others, clearly you're in the wrong field. The staff and the service cannot be beat. If you want top of the line products, the Dermatology Skin Center is the place to go!\r \r The office location is easy to get to. The staff and doctors listen carefully to your concerns and recommend only what they think you need to address your problem. Pleasant and professional at all times.
