Other than the high cover charge, SoBe is a great place to dance to the latest club music -- the crowd has a good mix of all kinds of people, though it does cater more to the 20-30-something crowd than the 40+ crowd. Still, I've seen people of all ages, races and persuasions here and most seem to be having fun.
If you're just looking for a great place to dance to club music, SoBe is it (esp. on Fridays and Sundays).
If you're looking for cheap drinks, want to be able to carry on a conversation without shouting, or would like a less party-driven crowd, try JR's/Mining Company or Pacific Street.
Pros: dance floor & music, cold-fog blasts, clean restrooms
Cons: no/few drink specials, high cover charge
