Pretty good food/great variety/good price 4/23/2008

A buffet will never match a restaurant dedicated to a cuisine in quality - but if the food is good matched with a great variety - it equals a very successful buffet. This place is good in food quality. The salmon can get a little over-baked, and some of the fruit on display is obviously not all that fresh, but everything else is above-average... The lil' cute pizzas are nice -- the meehoon noodles are excellent - the baked muscles are pretty good - the soups are all good - salads are very basic, but nicely put together. The service is OK. Nothing great, but a little bit better than, say, the Old Country Buffet - it isn't fine dining, but it's good. The cashier is friendly and chatty. Good price, good food, not a bad place to go if you want some decent seafood and don't feel like waiting long to manja! It's spacious enough to be "kid friendly" - our two young boys have enough elbow room to be comfortable. more

Not bad at all! 2/12/2008

I'm sorry to say about your bad experience in Small World Cuisine. I went there recently in the weekend to experience for myself. The staff and food was alright. Remember, this is a buffet and it's all-you-can-eat.. ...can't expect perfection my dear. You either like it or you don't and everybody have different tastes. They have a variety of Chinese hot entrees, sushi's, Mongolian Grill, and best of all, I enjoyed the variety choices in the cold entrees section. I tried the mixed cucumber salad and it was very good! I haven't seen a Chinese buffet that serves American salads and this place seems to have a variety of everything. I will definitely return. more

This Place will make YOU SICK 1/27/2008

on 01/16/08 at 6PM We arrived here to have dinner for my birthday. We got big bowls of soup put them on our table and went back to the buffet to get the hot food and returned to our table, a booth on the side of the dining room next to the buffet area. when we started tasting the food, the soup was tepid, less than 100-degrees F. The fried chicken bites, fried shrimp bites, and vegetables ranged in temp from about 115-degrees F to less than 90-degrees. We did not eat the food. I called our server over and told her and she told the manager who was sitting at a table eating soup. He immediately got up and started checking the food. He was not happy and had a bad attitude and made some wise crack. He did not remove any food from the buffet, just started turning up the heating burners to warm the food that was already out on the buffet cold. It had obvously been there for about an hour. We left the restaurant and the server followed us out and commented that we had not paid. I walked back in and took her to our booth to show her that we had only begun to taste the food and had not really eaten anything as our plates and bowls were still full. She walked over to the manager who was standing next to the hot buffet, I think he was checking the food. We have eaten at this buffet many, many times through the last several changes of name and format. We have eaten there since it was Old Country Buffet. There have been minor temperature issues in the past. This was the last straw and we WILL NEVER TRY TO EAT there again under current management. The attitude is like we are doing them a favor to eat there. Sometimes this place is very busy. This attitude when running a food service establishment is abhorable. Temps are not that hard to control. We left, went to Buca de Beppo and had a good meal where the sausage was so hot we had to wait to eat it, everything was cold if supposed to be cold and hot if supposed to be hot at this establishment. I am more than happy to discuss any of this with you. Other than that I amm simply a potential customer looking to go out to eat SAFE FOOD. more

never again 12/15/2007

i went to this buffet and was somewhat pleased with the food i mean for the price it is a deal, but the way the owner Gary treats his employees is so uncalled for and for the girls and guys to have to put up with him then with people not tipping i'd say this is not a place i respect. He embarasses the employees every chance he gets even if it is his or his sisters mistake they will pin it on the servers to make them selves look good. Then he makes them tip out 20% of their tips to give to the company when that money should go to the cooks and what not. He makes himself out to be someone he is not and if you are not asian boy he really treats you different. One of the white girls Tanya who works there works so hard so many hours and gets no respect this young lady helped open the store and another girl Kendall and they just shit on them give new hires the good shifts cut thier hours and pay and then rely on them for everything Kendall was smart and got out of there asap so they could not take advatage of her and i hope Tanya does the same I DONT EAT THERE ANY MORE!! AND WHISH I COULD HIRE ALL HIS EMPLOYEES AND LEAVE HIM HANGING CAUSE HE DONT DESERVE THE HARD WORK THE EMPLOYEES PUT IN FOR HIS COMPANY NOR IS THE COMPANY THAT GOOD TO WORK FOR . Last time I was there I watch the owners talk crap about the girls and then friend them to their face then when one owner found something that needed to change she yelled at the poor girl in front of oh 100+ people instead of taking her aside to where the whole crowd of poeple heard what happened and it was not the girls fault but really the owners should have addressed the problem. I tipped Tanya $50.00 and told her it is not worth it to work for these losers and I was sorry that they think it is ok to talk to anyone that way I hope she finds a better place to work as i will find a better place to eat!!! plus they hire people that have no right to work in th us and pays them under the table hope they get caught!!!!!!!!! more

Small World and Small Buffet with a small price 8/31/2006

I went to this buffet place up in Lynnwood because is saw a sign that said seafood and sushi buffet...to my surprise it was actually a pretty decent size buffet restaurant that can fit about 200+ people while not on with Todai's it got alot of seafood entrees to choose from as well as sushi. The price was not that bad either. Per their Business Card: "As a buffet-style asian bistro, small world cuisine gives dinner a change to try something different. The buffet offers about 50 different items to chose from in addition to move than dozen kinds of sushi." Price wise: Weekday Lunch: $9.99 Weekend Lunch: $12.99 Weekday Dinner: $14.99 Weekend Dinner: $17.99 more
