My family of three came to check out this local restaurant with a restaurant certificate. The owner waited on us and apparently did NOT want to serve the last of the 11 of these certificates still circulating. It was our first time at the place. We ordered a simple meal, hamburger, steak,crab cakes. The food was fine, actually tasty enough, although it looked like I was given a tiny piece of scrap meat (as steak) but it was well seasoned and slathered in onions to hide the size and quality of the meat. It was the service that was atrocious. When we arrived there was one customer in the place that had finished eating and was surfing the net. We were greeted, and an order was placed. We were given a bottle of water and our food. No other service followed. Anything else we needed we had to get ourselves, including the bill. When we were given our bill insted of beaing charged 18% gratuity we were charged $18 tip on a $30 something bill. When we asked the owner to correct it- (Tip should have been $6.71) She got so ANGRY about the coupons. We were never given a chance. When I told her the service was bad, but the food fine–she couldn’t believe I thought so. As if we weren’t there. She did correct the bill grudgingly but basically told us she didn’t want us to return. And we won’t. Why buy an $11 burger here when we can go to Dumont a half a block away?\r
