Comments about overpriced are unfair. Sure, its a take out spot and the waits are horrendous, but price wise, for NYC its decent, if not a good deal. Be warned, in the Summer, a wait can be as long as 45 minutes. And THEN you get to wait on another line to receive your order. If you're gonna wait, indulge yourself with cheese fries and a shake as well, after that ordeal, you deserve it. \r \r Last Tip, if all you need is a fix, go when the weather is bad and there's less of a line and then just run back to your office! This is where I take friends and family who are visiting. The Shack Stack is absolutely heaven. - Portobello mushroom stuffed with cheese and two beef patties. Portion is just right! The Shack Attack is just TOOOO much chocolate though... can be shared with 4 other people! If you're eating alone, I recommend the frozen custard of the day with additional toppings. My mouth waters just thinking of that place. Madison Park is close to 6th Ave.. Perfect place to eat after a day of shopping! Shake shack probably couldn't help but be overrated, but that's no reason to get all negative -- the burgers are still very good. No, they're not big, but size isn't the point here. They are the perfect size for the bun, cheese and toppings and are priced accordingly. I personally find the meat to be a bit too oniony and ""seasoned"" tasting to get the highest marks, but it's still a great place to get a burger fix. Sadly, other than the shakes and ice cream, not much else can earn the same high praise. I've ordered both varieties of their hot dogs (Chicago Dog and the Taxi Dog) and found both to be average at best. Both times I ordered the Chicago Dog, it was cold! and the fries aren't very good either -- they're oily crinkle-cut fries that you could get in any grocery freezer. Should you happen to not have high standards for fries, though, you'll be pleased to find that you do get a lot of them with an order. Skip the fries and just get two cheeseburgers. That'll set you back 8 bucks and you'll be quite full. And get there by 11:30 -- it's a fine burger, but not worth waiting over 30 minutes for unless you really have nothing else to do. more

The shake shack had the best burgers! It is definately a wait to get the burgers as there is always a line, but it is so worth it. They use top quality beef to make their burgers. It might be a good idea to go on a cooler day because the only tables are those outdoors in the park. Pros: awesome food Cons: long lines more

if i hear one more thing about corner bistro burgers being the best- granted, i haven't been there yet, but that's besides the point. burgers truly can't get better than this. this guy's set the bar to a new place and then he's exceeded that. i think he's using ground brisket and sirloin which gives it juiciness and flavor. even this shake shack sauce is good. i eat two of them at a time, arrive around 11am if poss to beat the line. the concretes/shakes/custards are good but i always feel too full when i stray from just the burger. the fries are the weak link - those frozen crinkle cut jobs. not worth the stomach space. good luck - this place totally rules! more

The food is awesome and if you are waiting in line and someone asks you if the food is good enough to wait 45 minutes for...you can say definitely! Pros: Food, inexpensive Cons: lines more

i have never been a burger lover. they tend to be boring to me, until i took some advise from a friend and wend to the shake shack one sunday afternoon. i get it now. a good burger can be so satisfying. and these are not so huge that you feel like you need medical assistance afterward! and they also have a perfect selection of beverages. more

Nice place in the middle of Madison Park with peacefull surroundings. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to get yourself a burger. The ""Shack Burger"" has a great taste to it and the fries are thin and crispy. For the same money, its much better then the McDonalds/Wendys across the street.
