Been there a few times over the years. My wife and I love it. Can't wait to go back.

Who wants Thai and Japanese 8/21/2005

Shaba Shabu's specialty is Thai and Japanese food. Unfortunately, you can only go to eat one as they are separate sides of the restaurant. While the decor is pleasant in a minimalist type way, the service is horrible. Even worse, the food lacks flavor. The shabu shabu, a Japanese type of fondue was flavorless and the age-dashi fried tofu was poorly fried. All in all, I would skip the place. more

Upscale asian cuisine 7/29/2005

I once read a review of this business that said it belonged in newyork, shaba-shabu is a fantastic place to have a romantic dinner, or to go out for an upscale night with friends. Food is spicy, but fantastic. more

Best of both worlds: Thai and Japanese 7/12/2005

Great place to get either Thai, Japanese or both in one place. Excellent food either choice you make. The restaurant is divided into two sides for the different cuisines. But if you want both you will have to sit on the Thai side or at the bar. The bar is a great place for late night meal along with a local DJ spinning house or breaks. The bar feels like a club on Fridays and Saturdays. If you like Sushi Blues you will enjoy yourself there, since they are both owned by the same person. more
