Seattle Tae Kwon Do is great. I don't know why nobody told me about this place sooner. I started about 13 weeks ago, over 40, fat and out of shape. The classes are fun, varied ...

Worst

Reply to some misunderstandings 8/10/2009

Seattle Tae Kwon Do is a service based business. We do have membership agreements which with a term commitment, allows us to offer a discounted tuition rate. Occasionally, someone will dishonor their agreement, which puts them into default. In which case, people tend to do and say anything to try to get out of their agreement. These people are the type that would leave negative feedback in forums such as this. We have thousands of happy student, past and present. Unfortunatly, these people tend to not leave feedback on websites such as this. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the school at 425-775-0299. more

Great school! 2/20/2009

My grandson started there six months ago. The instructors are super and he is having a lot of fun. I had some hard times, and the school even allowed my grandson to come for free until I was better. They definatly care more about the student than the money. I love them! more

Excellent for my child 10/1/2008

I have been very pleased with the training and attention my child has received. I wasn't sure when he was a white belt that he would be able to move up at all, unless he had very close assistance from the teachers/black belts. I didn't believe they would put out the effort. I have been very surprised. Not only has my child been successful, but every other student who need special instruction received it. This school is well run! more

Master Richards and the team at Seattle Tae Kwon Do are the best! 7/26/2007

Master Richards and the teaching team at Seattle Tae Kwon Do are the absolute best. When I started classes I was close to suicide. My parents just got divorced, my grades sucked, I was overweight and my self-esteem sucked. Master Richards has always been kind and encouraging to me. It is because of him and only him that I did not end my life. Now I feel great about myself, I have all A's and B's in school, have lost 30lbs in class and have a set black belt as my goal. He is a busy man, but always cares for his students and always does his absolute best to help each student reach their personal best. I hope someday to be just like him. more

Seatlle Tae Kwon Do 10/4/2006

This school has helped me alot. I am currently a part-time instructor at this school. I am currrently a 1st degree black belt (Tae kwon do) 3rd Degree black belt (karate) and 3rd degree ( Ju-jitsu). As my experience at many different schools as shown me how a good school needs to be run. Seattle Tae kwon do does everything to give it's students the best chance of reaching a 1st degree black belt or higher. I must admit, at first the school seems scary. The teachers in this school have been in the same spot to. The teachers have the training to make you tae kwon do learning the best it can be. THere might be some pain, but in the long run its forth it. The beginning students are all put in low classes with high trained tachers who are going to show you how to take it slow. You wont be in classes with poeple who are more advanced then you, you will be with people who are beginers as well. The higher ranking students are always happy to lend a helping hand. You may be a lower belt level, but the higher ranking students respect you. more

An Excellent School 8/23/2006

Our experience with Seattle Tae Kwon Do (formerly Richards' Tae Kwon Do) began two years ago when we signed our kids up for a three-month series of classes as an inexpensive summer activity. Since then, the whole family has become students and we love it. Full-time instructors include: Master Richards, a 6th Degree Black Belt; Master Lee, a 6th Degree Black Belt and two-time World Sparring Champion; Instructor Kim, a 4th Degree Black Belt; In addition, there are a number of what I think of as Graduate Teaching Assistants: high-rank students who assist in teaching the younger or less advanced students. This programs gives the older students, often high school students, a chance to develop their leadership skills. Classes are offered in afternoons, evenings and Saturdays and separated by age and skill level. Students can earn their Black Belt on a "pay-as-you-go" basis, or can purchase the full course in advance for a substantial savings. This gives parents of young children the flexibility to let their kids try it out, or make the commitment to earning a Black Belt, or even earn their Black Belt in steps without making the financial commitment of a contract. There are kids. Lots of kids. And the instructors are very good at working with them. They are very supportive without being wishy-washy. And it's not just the instructors. The students are very supportive of one another, as well. There is a wonderful sense of community and interdependence like you might find in a good congregation or small volunteer group. I went into Richards' expecting a lot of hard work and soreness. I got those. But I also found a lot of friendship and support. more
