a great place to train 11/18/2011

I am inspired today to write a review of Seattle Tae Kwon Do due to my experience in class last night. I entered the scjpp; tired, having worked out for 4 straight days (including a 6 AM morning run) and a long and stressful work week. Not long in to class I had double the energy that I'd had at any point during the day and ended up working out for two hours. This is the type of magic that happens daily at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. The style is always challenging and envigorating. In addtion, the community of teachers and students understand that through exploring the connections between body mind and spirit kids and adults are able to tap in to more strength and energy than we every thought we had. Sure, martial arts is not for everyone, and STKD may not be right for every martial artist. The cool thing is that the first month is always free (for kids and adults). The adult students vary from petite women to men over 6 feet tall and range in age from teenage to those in their 7th decade. I started on my 40th birthday as an overweight Mom of two who had never maintained and exercise program for more than a few months. Everyone is welcome to try out a few classes to see how they feel. Concurrent kid and adult classes make it easy for families to train at the same time. If you've every thought about training in the martial arts, or are returning to training and seeking a new school, it is worth your time to check out Seattle Tae Kwon Do. You have nothing to lose but a bit a sweat, and that you get to trade for a great dose of energy. more

A great workout 11/17/2011

Completely stiff and out of shape, I arrived at Seattle Tae Kwon Do with no experience but a hope to fulfill a lifelong desire to learn martial arts. Three months later, I'm amazed by the strength, flexibility, endurance and skill I've developed in throwing kicks etc. Master Lee is an intense and dedicated master who has developed a martial arts curriculum that combines part strength training along with the Korean martial arts. As a person who was new to town and looking to start an exercise training regime I could continue with for years, I find the environment to be a good match for my personality and I hope to continue for years. STKD is intense but has given me opportunities to make new friends while combining strength, flexibility and martial arts training. With an open environment to all beginners I encourage those interested to try it out! But don't forget your water and be ready for a tough first few sessions! more

great school 11/16/2011

My daughter has been going to STKD in their Tiny Tigers program for about a year, and we love it! The teachers are professional and make the kids work, yet they are also kind and really try to work with each child's unique personality to get all they can out of them. There are always 3 teachers in the class so if one child needs extra attention or help there is someone there to give it without taking anything away from the other kids. The areas of focus are Family, Teamwork, Discipline, Manners, Respect, Control, Coordination, Balance, Focus, Fitness, Confidence, Stranger awareness, and Memory. We use all of these skills in our daily life. A year in, my daughter looks forward to class each week and has never been bored. The front office staff is organized and friendly, and they all seem genuinely interested in the children more

A Terrific Birthday Party 11/16/2011

My son, Jerrod just attended a friends 8th Birthday Party at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. It was the best birthday party we have every attended. The kids had a blast learning cool Tae Kwon Do moves and the cake was AMAZING! The birthday boy cut his cake with a real Samurai Sword and then the instructors did a matrix kind of kick to break a pinata. When my son turns 9, we are definately coming to Seattle Tae Kwon Do for his birthday party! more

A packed, happy house 11/15/2011

It is always a fun packed house at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. For years I drove by the school and wondered why it why the parking lot was filled and the lobby was packed. Then a year ago, I brought my 4 year old to try out the Tiny Tiger Tae Kwon Do program. Wow, every class is full of discipline and respect, which I love and fun and excitement, which keeps my son coming back for more. This is a great activity to instill Respect, Self-Control and how to try hard in school and never give up. When our younger son turns 4, he is definately starting up! more

I absolutely love the classes at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. I have heard about it for years from my friends, so I finally checked it out. It was absolutely amazing. Everyone is so kind and full of so much energy. The classes are lots of fun and I feel so much more confident because I KNOW I can defend myself! I recommend Seattle Tae Kwon Do to all my friends that are not already there. They are the best! more

His vast knowledge of the arts and the attentional to each student and to their needs is incredible. He is truly a Master and lives the Martial Way. more

A great kids school 11/14/2011

I have been taking my kids to Seattle Tae Kwon Do in Mountlake Terrace for about a year now. My two sons absolutly love the instructors and my daughter wants grow up to be just like Master Lee. I can't think of any better role models than the loving, friendly and professional instructors at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. They are the best! more

Great school 11/12/2011

I am not a student here, but my husband is. He is 45 years old and was really out of shape. The doctor said he needed to lost 20lbs. Now six months later he is energized, focused and has lost 26lbs. I am so grateful to the professional staff at Seattle Tae Kwon Do. They gave me back the man I married 20 years ago. more

We enrolled our daughter about three months ago. Ali absolutely loves the instructors. Instructor Daniel is so patient and she adores Master Lee. Our younger son will be joining in a few months when he turns 4. Everyone is so kind and patient, we love Seattle Tae Kwon Do! more

BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER! 9/10/2011

This was SO much fun! We just had my son's 7th Birthday Party here and it was amazing! We literally didn't have to do a thing but bring the cake! We actually got to sit back and relax and enjoy his birthday party (rather then running around crazy stressed like we normally do). They played games with the kids, served them pizza (that they provided on paper products that they provided), set-up the cake, orchestrated singing Happy Birthday, cut the cake (in a most fun and unique way!), and served the cake as well. They headed up opening the gifts and even kept track of who gave what for me!t. They provided a pinata with candy and goodie bags and the kids LOVED the cool way they opened the pinata. They even cleaned up everything after the party! Most of all the two instructors were SO good with the kids: patient, gentle, fun, and controlled. Not only were we as parents blown away but so was every parent there and all the kids. This is a party no one will ever forget. It is totally worth every penny. We gave the instructors a nice tip too. These guys really impressed us...they even made personalized invitations for our son!!! They provided each child the option of a month of free Tae Kwon Do but it was very low pressure, if any. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone! more

Been to the rest, Seattle Tae Kwon Do is the Best! 2/6/2011

I used to be a student at another local martial arts school, but was unhappy with how unprofessional and unfriendly they were. So I made the change to Seattle Tae Kwon Do in Mountlake Terrace. Wow, what a difference! They are so organized, professional and helpful. I love my classes and the instructors are top notch. I would higly recommed this school to anyone looking for the best school around. Some of their instructors were even former World Champions! You can't get better than that. more

My son and I have been taking Tae Kwon Do classes at Seattle Tae Kwon Do for several years now. It is a great program and has really bonded my son and I together. I would recommend this school to any parent thinking of doing something fun and positive with their child. more
