I bought a 2004 TNG venice from Steve for $1200.
He insisted that he had to register the car himself. Gave me some line about how he's a mechanic and only dealers can do registration on site. It didn't sound fishy to me at the time, because I didn't know how these things worked. A whole YEAR later, I finally got him to actually register it by threatening to call the police. When I complained that I needed a plate because my temporary tag was expired, he suggested that I use scissors to cut the date off of the temporary tag. GENIUS!
So, now I've got my registration, and guess what! He put the sale price down as $250! He charged me taxes on $1200, but only paid the state taxes on $250. The dude kept the difference for himself. That's fraud, friends. I'm reporting him to the district attorney, and I urge you to DO THE SAME if he got you too. the phone number is 504-822-2414.
On top of that, he charged me $50 for a used helmet that sells new for $30. Buyer beware, I know. I didn't read the reviews before buying from him, or I would have known better.
