This place is called Scooter Ria now and it SUCKS. 9/26/2011

I bought a 2004 TNG venice from Steve for $1200. He insisted that he had to register the car himself. Gave me some line about how he's a mechanic and only dealers can do registration on site. It didn't sound fishy to me at the time, because I didn't know how these things worked. A whole YEAR later, I finally got him to actually register it by threatening to call the police. When I complained that I needed a plate because my temporary tag was expired, he suggested that I use scissors to cut the date off of the temporary tag. GENIUS! So, now I've got my registration, and guess what! He put the sale price down as $250! He charged me taxes on $1200, but only paid the state taxes on $250. The dude kept the difference for himself. That's fraud, friends. I'm reporting him to the district attorney, and I urge you to DO THE SAME if he got you too. the phone number is 504-822-2414. On top of that, he charged me $50 for a used helmet that sells new for $30. Buyer beware, I know. I didn't read the reviews before buying from him, or I would have known better. more

DO NOT BUY A SCOOTER FROM STEVE 2/21/2010

wow--I really wish I read these reviews before buying a scooter from Garden District Scooters, or whatever Steve is calling his shop on Sophie Wright Pl. now. I bought a 2009 TNG Venice last March. First, he charged $500 to my credit card and it took him 2 weeks to get me my money back. Second, the scooter was supposed to come with a $500 gas card from the manufacturer, which I never got. Third, Steve was supposed to take care of my registration. My first temporary tag expired and I had to get a second one. It took 6 months for me to get my plate. Fourth, the scooter frame broke in half (that's right!) less than a year from when I bought it & the warranty is not valid because TNG is out of business. Overall, it was worth selling the scooter back to Steve for parts just so I never have to deal with him or his sleazy shop ever again! Do not even walk in the door of this shop. He should be sued. Cons: scumbag, cheap scooter more

out of business 12/8/2009

""scooter steve"" is a scumbag salesman. he ""accidentally"" charged my credit card 1000$ and spent my tax and registration money for my scooter on his car note.... now im stuck with a temporary tag that expired 9 months ago ..... thanks ""scooter steve"" his mechanic even quit and opened his own place called lagniappe scooters in mid-city and has the same number 504 522-8665. i now let lagniappe work on all 3 of my scoots and his price is cheap and he pics up for free. take my advice go see dave before steve shakes you down or go to fx just stay away from steve Pros: mechanic quit and started his own place Cons: steves still in business more

Terrible customer service 6/18/2009

A few days after buying my used scooter, Scooter-Ria charged a random $1000 on my credit card. Even after talking with ""Scooter Steve"" multiple times and being assured the issue would be taken care of, I wasn't refunded the $1000 credit for 2 months.\r \r Additionally, it's now been 3 months since I bought my scooter, and they still don't have my permnent license plate. I call weekly to ask about it, and Scooter Steve says the DMV is still catching up due to Katrina related issues. The guy is simply a liar and will do anything to sell you a cheap, poorly made Chinese scooter.\r \r This place is a terrible place to buy a scooter from. I couldn't imagine a worse customer service experience. Simply interacting with this establishment is a highly regrettable mistake. Pros: cheap Cons: sleazy salesman, horrible service more

good value good service 12/8/2008

They were a little high on repair bill but when my scooter got a flat they came and picked it up as soon as I called them. They had me up and running in no time. Pros: fast turn around Cons: 70$ tune-up more

great scooter great price 12/2/2008

I was suprised by these reviews actually I have one of these and love it. i find it the best way to get around town as well as cheapest. I liked becoming a scooterist so much i sold my ford aerostar minivan and ride year round. I wouldnt hesitate to buy again from them and recommend scooterria to everyone i know Pros: in my neighborhood Cons: not enough used inventory more

Horrible business. 11/10/2008

I will never give my money to this place again. I have taken the same bike back to them for the same problems countless times. They hold it for too long, always find something new (which might be from the 30 miles I was able to get on it before the POS broke again), and generally don't complete the fix. Don't think that they will even consider talking to you about how to fix the scooter yourself, they have a corner on their little market, and are not giving it up easily. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.....anywhere else. Pros: If you are reading this review, you might not get taken Cons: they are the only TnG dealer / authorized mechanic in New more

BUNCH OF CROOKS 10/12/2008

WORST RETAIL EXPERIENCE EVER! THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF AS MANY PEOPLE AS THEY CAN. THEY JUST DONT CARE. SPEND YOUR MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE. THEY SELL JUNK. Cons: EVERYTHING more

STAY AWAY 10/10/2008

THE OWNER- SALESMAN IS THE MOST DISHONEST, SLEASY PERSON IVE EVER MET. HE WILL TELL YOU ANYTHING TO GET YOUR MONEY AND HE JUST DOESNT CARE HOW MANY PEOPLE HE SCREWS OVER. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS THERE AGAIN. IVE BEEN TAKING MY BUSINESS TO BIG EASY SCOOTERS AND THEY HAVE BEEN GREAT. Cons: THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF more

Terrible 9/18/2008

The brand of scooter they sell is extremely unreliable. It's a type of scooter that you can buy under a number of different brand names for half the price. They justify the higher price with a ""warranty"" that they will cancel when your scooter breaks down - and it will. The owner is a sleazy salesman who will think nothing of ripping you off. The best part? In Louisiana there is no Lemon Law for scooters so they can get away with whatever they want. Pros: Scooters are a great way to get around town. Cons: Terrible product, dishonest employees more
