On March 8, I placed a very large order for lunch for 40 people - the delivery was set for 11:30-11:45 a.m. However, the food did not arrive until 1:15-1:30. There were numerous attempts to reach someone. It was very difficult locating a manager or supervisor or driver. The phones kept ringing, no one ever answered and I was eventually disconnected. When the food finally arrived, the orders were completely messed up. For example, we ordered 10 different salad boxes -- the boxes came, but DID NOT contain salad! Apparently, when they were packed the actual salad was not included, only a cookie, chips and salad dressing (??). This is deplorable. The remaining part of our order (30 different sandwich boxes) were NOT marked so it was difficult to know what we received. I have used the Lamar (Austin, TX) location several times in the past and have never had this happen – I could not reach a store manager or driver. The catering division tried to help, but they had no answers either -- they ran into the same problems with the telephones as I did. It is unacceptable that a driver or store manager cannot be reached. Further, it is very unprofessional to ‘let the telephones ring’ to the point of the customer being disconnected. So, all-in-all, my experience today was a complete failure – our order was almost two hours late; we could not reach management or the driver; food was missing and the boxes were not marked. Even though we were given credit for this meal and not charged, this should never have happened … we ended up with angry customers and suffered total embarrassment to our company! I will definitely think twice before ever using Schlotzsky’s Deli in the future.
