Dr. Scafuri happens to be a very nice, caring, professional, inteligent doctor. He will put you at ease with his warm bedside manner and make you feel as if your life is perfectly safe in his hands. He has 2 locations on either side of Staten Island. Unlike majority of doctors, he even has weekend hours. His staff is nice and very competant. If you need something done, you'll get it done as soon as possible.\r

However, Dr. Scafuri has managed to stretch himself too thin and never seems to have the time to see his patients. If you were to call for an appointment to see him, you are immediately directed to one of his PA's. In order to actually see the doctor, you need to schedule weeks ahead of time or you are just out of luck. \r

His PA's are friendly and they are able to do a decent job..to a point! You are paying monthly premiums to your insurance company to see your doctor. Not to see one of his many PA's. \r

In addition to this, if you have a problem that is important enough to make you call the office to speak with him, don't hold your breath while waiting for a return call. Where most doctors would respect you enough to call you back, Dr. Scafuri is not one of those doctors. You will get messages relayed through one of his many assistants and play a nice game of phone tag. \r

If you don't mind being treated by people other than the doctor that you are paying monthly premiums to see and if you don't mind the fact that those people aren't even real doctors then this is the place for you. If not, I highly suggest skipping this doctor and moving on to the next. \r

It really is sad to have to say this because Dr. Scafuri is one hell of a doctor but all of the drama that goes along with being his patient just isn't worth it.
